Haunted Mansion

We are heading to Disney World today. Thankfully we are staying in a hotel tonight. I don't feel like sitting in the car afterward and Jessie and I even got our own room. Not gonna lie, if Jessie and I don't get to go off and do our own thing for just a little while today I might lose it on Collin. Speak of the devil,

"Does someone want to go wake Jessie up?" He asks.

"I'll do it," Levi says and jumps up.

"Actually I'll do it," I say.

"She's my sister," He says.

"She's my girlfriend," I say.

Just kidding, I didn't say that but you should see your faces.

What I said was, "And she's my best friend"

"Levi, let Harper wake her up, you love to jump on people and knee them in the ribs to wake them up," Collin says. "I even have the bruise to prove it" He jokes. No one laughs.

I go upstairs to the guest room. She is still sound asleep. I decide to wake her up nicely. Not in a Levi fashion.

I went next to her bed and sat down. "Jessie" I whisper. She didn't even flinch. "Jessie I whisper again.

"I'm up Levi" She whispers in a sleepy voice.

"Should I kiss you or crawl into bed with you?" I ask. She shoots up immediately. "It's not Levi," I say.

She lays back down when she realizes it's me. "Good morning"

"Good morning. My mom made breakfast. If you get sick on rides I don't recommend eating it. We're leaving in an hour" I say and stand up.

"Wait where are you going?" She asks as I'm heading towards the door.

"Back downstairs. I don't get sick on rides and I'm hungry" I say.

"But you didn't kiss me or crawl into bed with me"

I roll my eyes jokingly and lock the door before going back over to her bed. "Move over," I say.

"There's nowhere for me to go, it's a twin bed," She says.

She sits up and I sit on her lap. She pulls me in so I am laying on her and she kisses me on the top of my head. "Maybe we should get rid of the kid and hang out in your bed more often"

"We could send them to Disney World without us," She says.

"No way. I'm taking you on the Magic Carpets today."

After a few more minutes of cuddling, we go downstairs, eat, get ready, and then we finally leave for Disney World.

I've rarely been in a car with Collin but let me say, he is an awful driver. So much road rage. I guess it is the New York in him. The car ride was silent except for my mom and him talking, with him cutting her off to scream at some guy who allegedly didn't use a blinker. Jessie and I spent the entire time texting and planning which rides we were going to go on. I almost thought about drinking around the world with her. Maybe for my 21st birthday. I would love to fake drink in a bedazzled construction vest.

We get to the park and immediately check into our hotel. It was a quick and simple process honestly besides Levi was complaining the entire time.

My mom hands Jessie and me a room key for each of us to our room. "I trust you two won't sneak out tonight"

"Mom I would never," I say and start walking toward the elevators with Jessie right beside me. "We're totally sneaking out tonight" I whisper to her.

This trip keeps getting better and better. My mom, Collin, and Levi get off on the 6th floor while mine and Jessie's room is on the 8th. We don't even have to be on the same floor as them. They trust me way too much.

"Oh, we are set. They make this too easy," I say when we get off the elevator.

"Are you actually sneaking out? I thought you were kidding"

"Yeah no we're going to the clubs tonight," I say.

"I don't have my fake"

"Don't worry I brought it for you"

We get to our room and set our bags down on the ground. It was a nice hotel. Two beds and a desk with a little coffee machine on it. Oh, and a bathroom obviously. You wouldn't be able to tell it was at Disney World if it weren't for the small Mickey Mouse pictures on the walls.

"I call this bed," She says.

"Wait what? I thought we were sleeping in the same bed"

"Oh, we are. I was just messing with you"

Thank god.

She comes close to me and pulls me in by my waist. "I can't wait to spend the day with you" She whispers in my ear. Her mouth is half an inch from my ear. I could feel her breath as she said it.

I obviously have to ruin the moment. "Why are we whispering?" I whisper back.

She pulls away and takes my hand. "Because I like making the hair on your arms stand up," She says while lifting my arm so I could see. I bite my lip and look into her eyes. Caught in the act.

After a few minutes, we go down to the lobby to meet up with the others. We head to the park. It was just a quick shuttle bus ride to get there. We go through security and get our tickets scanned then head over to Cinderella's Castle. We take a few photos in front of it.

"Can Jessie and I go to Pirates of the Caribbean?" I ask.

"No we're staying together and going to Jungle Cruise," Collin says.

"I've been on it a million times. It is fine if we skip that" I say.

"Levi is the kid here and he's only been on it once," He says.

"Ok great so take him and we'll go to Pirates of the Caribbean"

"I already said we are staying together," He says and starts walking.

I roll my eyes and follow. It would be nice if my own mother would be the parent here.

We get on the line and it is relatively short. We wait for about 5 minutes and then get on the boat. I go to sit next to Jessie but Levi rushes to the seat. "I'm sitting next to her"

"Mom, I was about to sit there. Tell him to move" I say.

"Just sit it's fine," She says and she sits next to Collin.

I end up in the seat between Levi and Collin. This is my worst nightmare. Levi is squealing like a little girl and Collin is making goo-goo eyes at my mother the entire time.

After the ride, Collin decides we're going to Mad Tea Party. I once again try to get alone time with Jessie but I am once again shot down. Mad Tea Party is nothing special. It is your average tea cup ride. I try to get Jessie and me on our own tea cup at least but no we have to go with Levi. Spinning him around as fast as we could was fun I won't lie.

5 rides in, all rides chosen by Collin and I finally crack him.

"Can Jessie and I please go to The Haunted Mansion now?" I practically beg.

It is now late morning and everyone is starting to get hungry, their legs hurt and we probably need watch.

"No once Levi wants to go on it we will," Collin says.

"Look sir" I start and he raises an eyebrow. "I get you need your daughter to parent your son 98 percent of the time and it is great you want to be a father right now but if you really want to give her a break you should really let her come with me and be a teenager"

He was speechless. I got him good. I see a look of rage in his eyes.

"It's fine Dad, I don't even want to go to Haunted Mansion anyway. It's too scary" Levi says.

Finally, someone spoke up beside me. Would really love it if my mother could.

"Fine just go I don't care anymore," He says and starts walking my mother and Levi in the opposite direction.

I stand there in shock for a second. I can't believe I actually did it.

"Harper, what the fuck" Jessie says and giggles.

"What? We were all thinking it. Someone had to say it"

"That lowkey ate," She says.

"Come on, I've been waiting all day to be alone with you," I say and grab her hand. I don't even care if they see.

We head over to Haunted Mansion and wait in line. My girl loves a horror movie. I just had to bring her here. It took about 20 minutes. The ride is inside the shell of a Victorian-looking house. Everything about the Victorian era scares me. I think if I took a time machine back there I would end up in a coma. When it is finally our turn we go on to the carts and buckle ourselves. We have a cart to ourselves since they only fit two people. It goes into this long hallway that has flashing lights in the windows and on the paintings. There is a recording of a man talking over the speaker and some lighting that makes it look like moving shadows. She grabs my hand and squeezes it.

"Are you scared?" I tease.

"No I want to make sure you don't get scared though," She says.

We continue through the house. The ride isn't too scary. I wish there was a jumpscare or two. Jessie could get scared and use me for comfort. Or maybe the other way around but I guess we'll never know.

After a few more minutes we finally reach the exit.

"Where do you want to go now?" I ask when we get off the ride.

"Let's go to the magic carpets. You took me what I wanted to go on so now I'll take you since you said you want to go on that" She says.

Wow, Collin look at that your daughter understands compromises. She clearly doesn't get that from you.

Once we arrive at the ride it is about a 30-minute wait. The only thing guaranteed at Disney is wait times. Today hasn't been too bad though.

Once we get on the ride we sit down and two other people sit behind us. As we're waiting for the ride to start Jasmine and Aladdin come over to greet us. They just say hi and keep walking. They stop for a few kids and take pictures with them. The ride starts and we are lifted off the ground. We spin in a circle and the carpet goes up and down. Once we reach a high point in the ride, I cup her cheek in my hand. She leans in and plants a small peck on my lips. I only came to this ride for that. She pulls away and I rest my head on her shoulder.

The ride doesn't last long, only a minute. Once we get off I check my phone and I have a text from my mother telling us to meet her at Cosmic Ray's for lunch.

On our way, we run into Buzz Lightyear, he is just roaming the park I guess so we decide to stop and take a picture with him. I hope that makes Levi jealous.

After lunch, the rest of the day is spent with such fun family bonding time led by the best father figure in the whole world. I hated every minute of it... unless I caught Jessie staring at me.
