174 174. Happiness for Everyone
âHoney, where are you going?â asked Samuel as Clara got out of bed, away from his embrace. âItâs still too early to wake up.â
Clara chuckled. âI have to go to the hospital, Sam.â
âLea?â
Clara nodded and smiled. âI want to convince her to give birth to her child as soon as possible.â
âAre you sure you can?â
Clara was silent for a moment. After she got Samuelâs love, she felt alive again. When she thinks about Lea, she felt that everyone deserved happiness, regardless of any sins they had committed in the past. Lea was no exception.
âLea is an educated person. I will show her scientifically. I hope she will understand,â Clara replied again.
Samuel smiled lightly. He felt that Claraâs zest for life had returned. âGive me a kiss and Iâll let you go,â Samuel said with a playful look, pouting his lips.
Clara naturally laughed at Samuelâs childish behavior. She didnât reward him with a kiss but tickled Samuel until he screamed for mercy.
.....
âHey, you make me want to do it again, baby!â shouted Samuel, pulling Claraâs body back into bed.
âWhat are you doing, Sam?â Clara yelled with wide eyes when Samuel covered her naked body with his.
âOf course, I will teach you a lesson!â replied Samuel, sneering cunningly.
That morning, another session occurred before Clara could finally go to the hospital. Of course, she did it with difficulty because her energy was barely drained.

At the hospital, after completing her summary, Clara rushed to Leaâs room. However, she ran into Dave in front of Leaâs room.
âWhat is it?â Clara asked, finding Daveâs gloomy face unfriendly.
The man just shook his head in response. He was about to leave Clara because his feelings of awkwardness and heartache for that woman were still there, even though they had both decided to end the relationship on good terms.
Clara didnât give up. She knew how he put on a face when he was in trouble.
âTell me,â Clara said forcefully. She shook Daveâs shoulder so he would tell her what had happened.
Even Dave couldnât go against Claraâs wishes. He said softly, âMy dad ⦠he didnât want his grandson to be born out of wedlock. He ⦠asked me to marry Lea.â
Clara was stunned for a moment. No wonder Dave was reluctant to tell her. As it turned out, what happened was not pleasant to hear or tell.
âI think thatâs for the best,â Clara said. âDid Lea agree with the plan?â
Claraâs question just floated in the air. She knew Dave was in trouble. It must have been because Lea didnât want to cooperate.
Dave looked down, trying to see something other than Claraâs face. However, he saw a diamond ring pinned on Claraâs ring finger. The ring that wasnât from him.
âCongratulations,â whispered Dave in endless anxiety. It was unpleasant to know that Clara had completely ready for a new relationship with someone else.
âFor what?â asked Clara with a pounding chest. She then realized that she was wearing a ring from Samuel.
Dave patted Clara on the shoulder and said, âWishing you all the best of happiness.â He forced a smile, but his lips trembled as result. There was no smile to be seen.
Thatâs all Dave said. He then left Clara with a tight chest, trying to convince himself that everything about Clara was no longer his business. He had to focus on Lea and their child.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Clara realized what Dave was doing. She glanced at the ring in her hand. What was she going to say? Sooner or later, Dave would find out about her relationship with Samuel.
The doctor then entered Leaâs room and greeted the woman with a light feeling. âGood afternoon, mom! How are you today?â
Lea was stunned to find Claraâs attitude changed so drastically. Lea felt both scorned and confused by such a friendly gesture. A few days ago, didnât Clara still look gloomy and cold?
âYou look so cheerful, doctor,â commented Lea hoarsely.
Clara smiled kindly. âI asked, how are you?â
âI asked why you canceled the wedding which was only a few days away. Why did you do that to Dave, Clara? He loves you soââ
When Leaâs eyes looked at the diamond ring on Claraâs left ring finger, thatâs when she realized that as Dave said, Clara was serious about ending their relationship. Not only because of the presence of the baby in her womb but also because there was another man.
Unknowingly, Leaâs tears fell. âWhy? Why does it have to be like this?â
Lea burst into tears, covering her face with her hands. Clara, who couldnât stand Leaâs crying, approached her patient and hugged her tightly.
âLea, please understand ⦠Dave and I are done. Please donât prolong it and regret it,â whispered Clara in a hoarse voice, holding back the pain in her chest that still appeared briefly.
Lea shook her head, unable to believe that she was destroying peopleâs relationships. She didnât think she would fail to get Clara and Dave back together.
âLea, realize that there are things we cannot change in this world. I heard that you also ended your relationship with your former boyfriend because he married another woman, right? Even if you and he have been in a relationship for a long time,â Clara said without separating herself from Lea. âHave you ever thought that fate plays with us? Our soul mate comes too late, destroying the plan we have built for a long time.â
Clara separated from Lea, then continued to say, âThe paths will be different, but everyone deserves to be happy with the person who is meant for them. So do you.â
Lea was still sobbing, trying to stop her crying.
âNow try to think for you and your babyâs happiness,â whispered Clara. She then took out her tablet to report on the success of the six-month-old babyâs birth and the facilities that the hospital had. âYour baby deserves a complete family. Having a father and mother.â
Lea stared at Clara with teary eyes.
âDonât you want to see your child grow up, walk and run while calling you mommy?â Clara asked again, making Leaâs sobs deepen.
Lea could only nod in response. She hugged Clara tightly, God knows how long she did it. She didnât know whether to thank or apologize to Clara either. She just realized that what Clara said was her dream.
