Chapter 89
Billionaires with Benefits
89 89. Kidnapping
William was in the grocery store, shopping for dinner. He wanted to provide the best nutrition for his pregnant wife. Instead of buying ready-made food, he planned to make the food himself.
He checked the note in his right hand to make sure he had taken all the items he needed to make an avocado salad and chicken steak. He already googled the recipe online. It must be great if he managed to make them at home, from scratch.
âAvocado, shrimp, chicken, and butter,â William muttered to himself. âI still havenât picked up the broccoli and asparagus.â
William then walked over to the vegetable counter to pick up a bunch of asparagus and a pack of fresh broccoli. He smiled in satisfaction because all the groceries he had bought looked so fresh. He then went to the cashier to pay for his groceries.
âThatâs 1603 yen in total,â the young male cashier in white told him.
Williamâs brows furrowed. He forgot to calculate that he had to pay an 8 percent tax. He needed one hundred and three yen more. He then asked the cashier to wait for him. He went out of the shop for money from an ATM for a while because he avoided using credit cards even for small amounts.
Calmly, William entered the ATM. He did not suspect in the slightest that at that time two people were stalking him. Just as he was about to put the money into his wallet, thatâs when a masked man walked into the ATM counter. Oh! It was a robbery! William was surprised because he had never experienced such a thing himself.
The masked manâs right hand held a gleaming metal object that William recognized as a penknife, which he also always had in his pocket when he was younger. The masked man glanced around to make sure no one saw him.
The masked man brought his body closer to Williamâs body and pointed the knife at Williamâs lower back. The knife didnât touch his body, but he knew that a sharp object was pointed at him at that moment.
.....
William thought it was a robbery. He was lazy to deal with criminals. He did not expect that he would be robbed in the country that he thought was the safest. However, William remained calm. He only paid attention to the position of the knife and tried to keep his distance so he doesnât get hurt.
William put the money and wallet into his coat pocket. He then raised his hand, as a sign he would not put up a fight. At least, he wasnât planning on resisting the slightest since he knew that the criminal had a companion.
âFollow us!â said the masked man in a hoarse voice.
His voice was not very clear because he was wearing a mouthpiece. Of course, he spoke Japanese. Fortunately, William understood his words. A lot of free time made him learn a lot of Japanese.
âI canât, I have to cook dinner for my wife,â William answered calmly.
âYou donât want to get hurt, do you?â rebuked the masked man again. âBe obedient and I wonât hurt your skin in the slightest.â
Because William still thought that this criminal only wanted money, he asked, âHow much do you want? My wife will be home soon. I have to cook for her.â
âI donât want your money,â replied the criminal.
âThen what do you want?â asked William again.
âI wonât hurt you as long as you obey us!â replied the masked man flatly. âOur boss is waiting for you. Come on, please!â
âLet me contact my wife first!â asked William again. âI donât want her waiting for me at home.â
âYou think we are stupid, no? Youâre going to call the police, right?â said the masked man sarcastically.
âRelax, my wife is not a cop. Sheâs just an ordinary woman,â William tried to reply calmly but remained wary. After all, the masked manâs weapon was a knife, something that would easily injure him since the manâs movements were quite unpredictable.
William then shifted slightly, about to take his smartphone. However, the masked man quickly grabbed Williamâs smartphone, snatching it from him.
âDissident!â The criminal then picked up the phone and was about to slam and destroy it. However, he remembered his bossâs order not to do unnecessary things. The man then put the phone in his pocket for keeping it safe. âDonât do unnecessary stupid things anymore and obey us if you donât want to go home in a body bag!â
The companion came closer. He helped his friend to take care of William. âLetâs go!â
William thinned his lips, he was lazy to obey the wishes of the two cockroaches that threatened him. However, it seems that something serious was going on.
âOkay!â William said giving up, took his things, and chose to follow the two thugs.
If William wants to, he would fight the criminals to get home. Unfortunately, he was curious about the person who ordered him to kidnap him. He didnât feel that he had any mistakes that would make a villain want him.
Not long after, after his hands were tied up and his eyes were blindfolded, William and the criminals got into a black sedan, heading for their destination. The two thugs whose bodies were no bigger than William thought something was off. It was strange because William so obediently obeyed them. He looked relaxed as if he wasnât in any danger.
âWhy are you so calm?â the criminal asked William.
âI was about to ask, why are you scared?â asked William with an incredibly serene smile, making his captor sweat even more.
Not long after, William arrived at a traditional Japanese-style house. He got out of the car obediently. They undo the blindfold, making William able to see the well-preserved Japanese ancient house in awe.
âIs this a samurai house?â William asked one of the kidnappers who took his blindfold.
The kidnapper shook his head. âYou are weird. Are you here for sightseeing?â
âHey, Iâm just asking,â William answered casually. âBut if you donât want to answer my question, thatâs fine.â
It was only when the kidnappers led William inside the house, William knew why he was kidnapped during his first month in Tokyo.
A familiar old man greeted him in quite a polite way, âWelcome to our residence, Mr. Montgomery!â
