Chapter 123 - 123 Do Something to Show...

Looking at the two, Gu Qiangwei bowed slightly and greeted President Jiang, “President Jiang.”

“Qiangwei, this is Ding Ruolan. It was her accident that allowed you to take over her role.”

Gu Qiangwei smiled, “I know.”

“President Jiang, we have already met,” said Ding Ruolan, whose smile seemed gracious, yet her eyes harbored barely concealed hostility towards Gu Qiangwei.

“So you’ve already met.” President Jiang smiled, fearing that Ding Ruolan would bear a grudge against Gu Qiangwei after learning about the role replacement. He took the opportunity of this celebration party to properly introduce the two and let them get to know each other.

“President Jiang, I’d like to have a chat with her,” Ding Ruolan turned her head, smiling sweetly and generously.

Her Drama had been a hit; President Jiang held her in high esteem. He smiled and said, “Then you two chat, I’ll excuse myself.”

As he disappeared into the crowd, Ding Ruolan turned her head to look at Gu Qiangwei.

Her disdainful gaze revealed contempt and animosity towards her.

However, Gu Qiangwei had no interest in chatting with her. Holding her juice, she prepared to turn around and leave.

“You’re not even famous yet, and you’re already acting like a diva?”

A mocking voice echoed from behind.

Gu Qiangwei stopped in her tracks, paused for two seconds, but still didn’t plan to pay any attention to Ding Ruolan behind her. She strode towards the exit of the banquet hall.

Ding Ruolan’s complete disregard made her grip her wine glass tightly, her beautiful face distorting with rage!

“What’s wrong, my dear?”

A magnetic voice came from behind.

Ding Ruolan turned her head to see her boyfriend approaching.

“That damn Gu Qiangwei, she’s only featured in a micro-movie, and it hasn’t even aired yet, but she’s already acting like a star in front of me!” Fuming at the spot where Gu Qiangwei disappeared, Ding Ruolan was furious!

“Gu Qiangwei?” Gu Shijie frowned slightly, surprised to hear the name.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Noticing the unusual tone in his voice, Ding Ruolan turned her head, adoringly gazing at his straight nose, “Yes, that Gu Qiangwei not only stole my role but just blatantly ignored me. Shijie, you must help me get even!”

Hearing this, she coquettishly traced a finger across his chest.

Gu Shijie’s gaze shifted away from the distance, his lips curling into a smile as he looked at the woman in his arms, “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely get back at her for you.”

“Really?” Ding Ruolan’s eyes immediately sparkled.

Gu Shijie, who took over Gu Group right after graduation, was not easy for her to win over!

Gu Shijie smiled, asking back, “When have I ever lied to you?”

Ding Ruolan’s smile bloomed like a flower, “Then you must teach that girl a lesson for me. She’s just an assistant and she dares to put on airs in front of me!”

“Alright, but before that, shouldn’t you make some sort of gesture?”

Noticing his suggestive look, Ding Ruolan smiled seductively, “You’re naughty…”

Finding the banquet too dull, Gu Qiangwei went to the back garden, intending to leave after the celebration was over.

Looking at a swimming pool in the distance, she walked towards it and soon finished the juice in her hand.

Standing by the pool and looking at the water surface glowing with fluorescence in the night, Gu Qiangwei became somewhat lost in thought.

A ringtone from her phone interrupted her quiet musings.

She took out the phone, only to find it was Shen Mochen calling.

“Hello.”
