Lunch finally came to an end, and Gu Qiangwei sat in the living room, amusing Mengqi.

Soon after, a series of footsteps could be heard approaching.

“Take this.”

At the sound, Gu Qiangwei looked up to see Qin Sijue standing before her, looking down at her with his deep eyes, holding something in his hand.

“What for?” She was just a “pretend wife”; he wasn’t planning to keep her, was he?

“There’s fifty million in here, whether you invest it in Starlight or not is up to you.”

Uh, was he really prepared to give her fifty million to play with?

“What should I do?” she asked, raising her eyes innocently.

Gu Qiangwei was completely stunned.

Was this man serious or joking? The whole Jingcheng? Who did he think he was? The mayor? Or the governor?

“So, make as much noise as you want.”

With those words, Qin Sijue turned and walked towards the front door.

It had been so long since she had seen that name on her caller ID that she wondered if it was going to rain red today.

After hesitating for a few seconds, Gu Qiangwei answered the call, her voice suddenly cold, “Hello?”

“Qiangwei.” The voice of Gu Zhendong came through the phone, sounding slightly uneasy.

“Chairman Gu, what can I do for you?”

Facing her indifference, Gu Zhendong paused briefly, but considering he had slapped his daughter before, it was only natural for her to be angry.

“Where are you right now?”

To Gu Qiangwei, this question seemed not so much concerned as it was accusatory.

“What does that have to do with you?”
