Chapter 33
My Werewolf Neighbours
"You look stunning!" The woman whom I now know as Bianca happily gushed as she offered me her hands.
"Why do I feel nervous?" I asked as I released a deep breath. My heart was racing with emotion and my stomach churning with nerves. Today was a big day or, rather, a big night, and I was worried I would embarrass myself or even worse, Damian, Mom, and even the guys and Grace. I was a ball of nerves.
"That's normal," Bianca reassured, giving my hands a gentle squeeze as she released a light laugh. "But you'll feel more comfortable when you see what we see."
With that, she gently turned me toward the floor-length mirror that was placed in the room. My jaw almost dropped as my eyes connected to an unfamiliar figure. The strapless styled gown made me look like I was about to go down a red carpet. It was a black and red dress styled with a red, straight bodice that featured silky ruffles at the chest area to cover the cleavage the dress made. The dress went down to my mid-thigh in the same silky material, hugging my waist and hips in an alluring style. A black overlay went around my waist, featuring a two toned styled that showed the inner material in the same red colour as that of the upper body. The overlay came around and easily covered half of my thighs and legs, only leaving about 3 inches of exposed flesh. My legs were sprayed with something that made them look chiseled and somewhat shiny. The attire was completed by my black wedges.
A pair of silver, bow shaped earrings with three dangles were matched with a silver necklace with a matching bow. A silver bracelet was slipped around my wrist to complete my accessories. My hair was left to fall down my back, with one side being pinned to the back of my head.
The blemishes on my face were not visible for the world thanks to the concealer and foundation that were applied. My eyebrows were neatly shaped and drawn on for more volume, and my lips coated in a deep red, glossy lipstick as I had asked. My eyelashes looked larger and darker from the mascara. Black eyeshadow made my eyes look sultry along with the wing shaped eyeliner that shot from the sides of my eyes. I definitely looked bolder than I normally looked and perhaps a bit more mischievous. It was a different look, but I wouldn't dare to say I hated it.
"I look different." I giggled as my hands went to each side of the overlay skirt and swayed the material from side to side as I turned my hips. The swift movement of the skirt was mesmerising. I almost didn't feel like normal me, I felt different, like I was more important. It was an interesting feeling.
"Different but gorgeous," Bianca chuckled, "Well, you were gorgeous before, too. You just needed to let it out."
Bianca placed her hands on her hips and smiled approvingly, while the woman who had walked in carrying a silver and pink box, Daisy, packed up the makeup she had used. Emerald, the woman who had brought in the shoes as well as the jewelry, stood leaning against the wall as she listened to our conversation.
"Anyway, we better be off," Bianca apologetically smiled. "We need to get ready for the ceremony, too." She winked as she made her way to the bed where she bad laid all the outfits she and brought in. They were all zipped away in their bags already, so it was easy for her to just swoop them all over her arms before turning to me with a warm smile, "You look beyond beautiful."
"Thank you," I smiled at her before turning to Emerald and Daisy, "To all three of you."
They all bowed their heads before taking everything they brought in, which wouldn't be used tonight and leaving out the door, leaving me in the company of the room's silence. As I let out a sigh, ready to plop back down on the vanity chair and probably play a game on my phone, there was a gentle tap on the door.
"Who is it?" I called out as I made my way over to the door.
"The one and only, Angel." Zane's familiar voice filtered through the door.
I couldn't help the smile that graced my lips as excitement bubbled in my stomach. My eyes went down to my outfit as I ran a hand over the smooth material. A small part of me was nervous about what he was going to say, but a large party of me was excited to show him.
"Come in." I laughed as I stopped in my tracks in the middle of the room.
Zane didn't wait for me to say anything else as the door opened to reveal a well-dressed man. He had on a light blue suit, with a dark blue overcoat, white shirt, and blue bow tie. His hair was styled in a messy but fashionable way that would allow for the abuse it would surely endure during the course of the night. A look of awe took over his features as he offered me a hand. I happily placed mine in his, allowing him to lift my hand and spin me in a single twirl that made the skirt open and make a circle around me.
"Baby," He all but gasped in pride, "You look beautiful." He said as he wrapped his arms around my waist and caged me against his chest.
"Thank you," I giggled as I placed my hands on his chest, "You look handsome, too."
"I need to keep Liam and I in check tonight," He grinned, "But first, may I have a kiss?"
"No," I laughed as I quirked an eyebrow, "My lipstick."
"We can reapply it." He smirked.
"Baby no," I laughed in amusement of this mate of mine. "Later." I reassured.
"You know how addicted I am to kissing you," He whined as he spun me around so my back was against his chest. He leaned down, making goosebumps rise on my skin. A shiver shot up my spine as his cook breaths caressed the sensitive skin of my neck before his lips landed in a swift caress that had me instinctively tilting my head to the side to give him more room. My hands went over to his on my waist as I held them, "I can't wait for the day we can officially make you ours." He said as he nibbled on the thin skin, making my knees shake from under me.
"Zane," Nolan's disapproving voice filled the room, instantly making me tense up under Zane's flirtatious touch. "What are you doing to our mate?" He asked, the sound of the door closing following soon after.
Zane pressed one last kiss on my neck before twirling me around, so I was facing him again.
"Nothing." He innocently smiled at Nolan and I.
"I highly doubt that," Nolan chuckled as he appeared at my side, a knowing smile lacing his lips. He had on a three piece, periwinkle, blue styled suit with a white shirt and black tie. The lapels were black along with the pocket line. His hair was neatly pushed back in a neat quiff that had me internally drooling. He silently offered me his hands, a look of awe and surprise gracing his face. "Baby, no wonder he is struggling with not ravishing you. You look gorgeous." He said as Zane let me move to Nolan.
"Thank you," I beamed as I allowed him to pull me into his arms, "You look so handsome."
"Only for you, Sweetheart." He chuckled as he leaned down to press a kiss onto my cheek.
"My makeup," I pouted.
"You can do without it." He grinned that boyish smile of his.
"Of course you'd say that," I rolled my eyes with a shake of my head. A chuckle left my lips just as a pair of hands landed on my hips. Their familiar manly musks swirled around the small space, driving my insides crazy as I breathed in their familiar colognes. "I actually wanted to talk to you two about something." I cleared my throat as I placed my hands on Nolan's chiseled chest.
I felt Zane's hands give my hips a gentle squeeze while Nolan's muscles tensed under my touch.
"What is it, Sweetheart?" Nolan asked.
"So, I was thinking about making things official between the three of us." I slowly said.
"Aren't we already boyfriends and girlfriend, Angel?" Zane asked as he simultaneously ran his hands over my hips.
"Yes," I drawled, "I was talking about in the werewolf context."
Zane's hands halted their movements while Nolan looked down at me with disbelief, his lips parted as he slightly tilted his head to the side.
"Are you referring to marking?" Nolan asked.
I gently drummed my fingers against his chest as I nodded, "Yes."
"Baby, not that I'm trying to demotivate you or anything, but are you sure about that? Marking is a huge step. It's permanent. We would struggle with letting you go now, but after marking, you will be infinitely stuck with us." Zane cautiously said.
"Zane," I sighed as I turned around in Nolan's hold until I was facing Zane. His hands remained on my hips while Nolan's remained on my waist. In fact, the man seemed to bring himself closer to me as I looked at Zane, "I want to do this. I'm ready," I nodded, "Unless you have some reservations."
His hands gently squeezed my hips as he shook his head, "Never. I just want you to be sure. Especially with me."
"And what makes you different from Nolan?" I gave him a reassuring smile as I raised a hand to his cheek and gently rubbed at the skin with my thumb. "You know that I don't care about your past or even our beginning. Yes, it was rocky, but I'm okay with it. We're here. Together. I love you, Zane, and I want to be with you for as long as time allows, and that will never change," I said before turning so I was in between them as I raised my other hand to Nolan's cheek, "I love you, Nolan and this is what I want. I hope you know that."
Nolan happily smiled and turned his head so he could plant a kiss on the palm of my hand.
"I know, Baby. And that's all I want. You know I'm ready if you are." He nodded.
I turned to Zane, waiting for his response, but instead of giving me a response like Nolan, he sweeped me off from the floor and planted a kiss on my lips. A saltiness caressed my lips as I placed my hands on his cheeks and returned his kiss. It was slow, full of care, but also passionate from the emotion that was poured into it. I felt like his anchor at that moment, even as our lips parted. His green eyes shone from the tears as he gave me the happiest smile I have ever seen from him, "Thank you. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for giving me a chance after everything. I love you so much, Baby. With all of me." He chuckled before stealing another peck as I smiled at him and wiped away his tears with my thumbs.
"I will always love you. Through thick and thin." I promised. He slid his arms around my waist while I wrapped mine around his neck in an embrace before he set me back down.
I turned to Nolan, who looked just as happy. He wrapped his arms around my waist and tugged me against his chest in one swift movement. His lips landed near my ear as he whispered, "Thank you."
"What for?" I whispered back.
"For being there for him. For giving him a second chance. For loving Grace. For choosing to stick with us. I love you beyond words, Baby. And I always will." He said as he pressed a kiss on my temple.
"Thank you for giving me a chance, too." I smiled up at him. He leaned down and planted a sweet kiss on my lips, just like he always is. Sweet, loving, caring, and full of light.
I opened my arm for Zane, who happily wrapped his around my waist as I wrapped mine around his torso. We stayed together in a hug, feeling more full than ever before. A kiss was pressed against each of my temples as I embraced the moment.
