Liam was stunned. He never thought that the security guards would run away.

Of course, he didn’t know that those security guards were all Tiger’s men.

Normally, those men wanted nothing more than to beat him up themselves. Now that they saw him being beaten up, who would want to help him?

Liam didn’t manage to get anyone over, but he made Pete mad.

Pete gave him another beating. He only stopped when he had beaten Liam to a pulp and his face was swollen, and Liam had knelt down on the ground begging for mercy.

“You better behave yourself! If not, I’ll beat you up every time I see you!”

After he said that, Pete drove off angrily.

Liam lay on the ground for a while before standing up with difficulty.

Enduring the pain, Liam walked into the construction site and looked for Tiger. “Master Tiger, what’s with those security guards you hired? Don’t they know how to do their jobs? I was getting beaten up at the entrance of the construction site just now, and they didn’t even bother to help me! What kind of security guards are they?”

Tiger put both his legs on the table and said slowly, “Those security guards are my men. Are you trying to say that I’m not doing things right?”

He would usually act arrogantly in front of Matthew, but he didn’t dare to act this way in front of Tiger.

Matthew had to respect James and Helen, but Tiger didn’t.

Besides, he knew Tiger’s reputation well. Provoking Tiger would be no different than suicide!

Liam scraped and bowed, then left the room. When he got out of the room, the expression on his face turned cold.

No matter what, he should first have Pete caught before anything else.

Soon, the police arrived, and Liam told them about what happened earlier.

The police chief ordered some of his men to apprehend Pete while he questioned Liam. “Are there any witnesses to this incident?”

Liam quickly nodded. “Yes, yes. A few security guards on our construction site saw everything. Also, our construction site has CCTV cameras. There are cameras over there too. That’s solid proof!”

The police chief nodded. “Alright, there shouldn’t be any problems if there are witnesses and surveillance footage. Please get the security guards to come over here. We need to ask them a few questions too.”

Liam hurriedly told the few security guards to come over.

The police chief then asked, “Did anyone see him being beaten up by a man called Pete Rivers just now?”

The police chief nodded. “How did Pete Rivers beat up this gentleman just now?” he asked. “What was the situation that you guys saw?”

One of the security guards replied immediately, “This is what happened. At that time, we were patrolling at the back and saw someone suspicious. It seemed like he was stealing something from the construction site so we chased after him, but we didn’t succeed. We turned around and ran to the back, and saw Mr. Hayes getting beaten up by that man. We quickly ran toward them, but that person ran away. We couldn’t catch up to him.”
