Wife by Day Boss by Night ( (Natalie and Brian )
Chapter 125
Natalie glanced back and locked eyes with Rosie before laying her cards on the table. âTonight. Mr. James asked me out for dinner. Since youâre Gavinâs family, you must know whatâs the right outfit for visiting the James family. What kind of gift would be appropriate?â
Rosie stared at her in shock, momentarily at a loss for words. After a brief pause, she whispered in a hushed tone. âAre you for real? Are you really Gavinâs girlfriend? My uncle has never allowed Gavin to bring a lady home! Youâre the first, you know!â
Natalic explained earnestly, âI swear, Gavin and I are just friends. Due to some special reasons. I met your uncle first.â
âSo youâre aiming to be my uncleâs wife?!â Rosie was a picture of disbelief.
Gavinâs mother had passed away nearly a decade ago, and his father, Michael had never remarried.
Rosie pondered Gavinâs behavior toward Natalie. It seemed friendly, yet there was an extra bit of respect. Considering this, the small talk about her being the next Mrs. James didnât seem so farâfetched.
Natalie was speechless.
Natalie and Rosie locked gazes for a moment before Natalie burst into laughter, countering. âMr. James is nearly thirty years my senior, how could that be?â
âThereâs no such thing as impossible!â Rosie replied seriously. âHavenât the rumors these past few years been all about him and girls in their early twenties? Besides, my uncle takes great care of himself, looks like heâs in his thirties or forties. He hasnât put on weight and has that mature man charm. Plus, heâs loaded. I think dating him isnât something to be ashamed of.â
Natalie eyed Rosie for another moment before giving her a thumbsâup. âYouâre awesome.â
At least Natalie wasnât that openâminded yet, but Rosie seemed to be on board. Nat

Was it because Uncle Michael travels abroad so much? Heâs quite handsome. Iâve seen photos of him when he was young. Gavin doesnât even come close, donât you think?â
Natalie hadnât expected Rosie to take it all so seriously. She sighed, took a dress off the rack, and asked Rosie, âDo you think this looks good?â
âWhatever you wear, heâs sure to like it, as long as itâs elegant and tasteful,â Rosie nodded earnestly.
After a thought, she added in a whisper, âThe dress isnât what matters.â
Natalie was tempted to stitch Rosieâs mouth shut!
Chapter 125
The two whispered back and forth, clutching their chosen dresses when the sales associate. who had been eyeing them impatiently, snapped, âAre you buying that or not? If not, put it back, donât damage it!â
Today, Natalie and Rosie were dressed quite casually average students from the local college. especially Natalie in her jeans and sneakers.
âSorry about that,â Natalie said apologetically. âI was just about to ask if you have this in at small, Iâd like to try it on.â
âWe donât allow trying on clothes in our store,â the associate looked Natalie up and down dismissively.
âHow else am I supposed to know if it fits?â the nearby Rosie, sensing the clerkâs disdain, asked, her eyebrows knitted in irritation.
The sales associate replied, unbothered, âIâve seen plenty of college girls like you wanting something for nothing. This dress costs sixteen thousand nine hundred. Maybe you should first make sure you can afford it.â
The implication was clear. The sales associate wanted them to check with their sugar daddies. before considering such a pricey frock.
Rosieâs face turned beet red as she retorted, âHow dare youâ¦â
