Chapter 161
Wife by Day Boss by Night ( (Natalie and Brian )
Chapter 161
Davisâ voice thundered through the hall as he saw Brian leave, âHold it right there!â
Brian paused with an annoyed scowl on his face as he turned. âWhat now?â
âYou mustâve forgotten about next Mondayâs gala. Youâre the award presenter, and Gracia is our guest of honor! She hasnât booked her flight because sheâs waiting for your decision! I had her come over so you two could sort out the travel plans! I figured youâd be too wrapped up in work to remember,â Davis said, his tone brooking no argument.
âIâm flying out tonight. Iâve got no time for this,â Brian snapped, barely giving it a second thought.
âPerfect. Gracia can tag along then!â Davis retorted with unwavering authority.
Brian frowned deeply, sparing a glance at Gracia.
âI can manage on my own,â Gracia stammered, flustered under Brianâs intense gaze, shaking her head slightly.
âThen go on your own,â Brian replied curtly and resumed his march out the door.
âDavisâ¦â Gracia hesitated, turning to Davis with a pleading look, unsure whether she should
follow Brian.
Davis remained silent, and she didnât dare to move.
Davis watched Brianâs retreating figure for a long moment. Finally, he said quietly with a stern face, âIâll have someone pack your bags and send them over. Follow him.â
As he spoke, he patted Graciaâs hand meaningfully. âSeize this opportunity, Gracia. I have faith in you.â
Gracia had missed too many chances already. If Brian wouldnât take the initiative, perhaps it was time for her to do so.
By the time they had got physical, Brian would have no choice but to accept it..
Gracia felt something pressed into her palm, and a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes when she looked down.
Eight hours later, they arrived in Sterlina.
Gracia sat timidly in the living room of the presidential suite, eyes following Brian as he passed by.
She hadnât brought anything with her and boarded Brianâs private jet. Without her ID, she had nowhere to go other than sharing a room with him.
Yet Brian was treating her as if she were invisible. When she entered the room, he didnât spare

her a glance.
âBrianâ¦â she called out hesitantly.
âThereâs a keycard for the room next door on the table,â Brian said, shrugging off his jacket and heading toward the bathroom indifferently.
Gracia sat on the couch, engulfed by waves of embarrassment. She had followed him to Sterlina, to his room, and he still showed no interest.
Biting her lip in frustration, she watched as Brian began to undress.
âIf you want to keep watching, I donât mind,â Brian remarked casually, grabbing a bathrobe.
Gracia, who had never seen a man undressed, quickly turned away, not daring to keep her gaze on him.
As Brian went for the shower, Gracia peeked behind him, seeing that he had already stepped in. Clenching her right hand, she reached into the pocket of her tight skirt.
As she was about to sprinkle the contents Davis had given her into Brianâs protein powder, Brianâs unlocked phone on the counter vibrated.
Without thinking, she glanced at it and saw the name Natalie.
It was a message from Natalie to Brian.
[Iâm thinking of getting discharged from the hospital. Can settle the paperwork in the morning.]
Intrigued, Gracia clicked on the message. She held the phone in her tightening grip, and her eyes flickered between the device and the direction of the bathroom.
The shower stall was frosted glass, but she could make out Brianâs silhouette.
She slipped off her sweater, raised the phone, and pointed the camera toward the shower. After recording about ten seconds, she sent the video to Natalie.
