Chapter 243
Wife by Day Boss by Night ( (Natalie and Brian )
Chapter 243
âLooking for a flash drive?â Brianâs fingertips gently traced the tiny scars on her back, his voice low and soothing.
Natalie paused momentarily before responding, âJust some files I regularly use. Iâve had them for years. All the important stuff is on there.â
âNo backup on your computer?â Brian lifted his gaze, studying her profile before continuing the
conversation.
âYeah, but you know how it is with old habits. They die hard,â Natalie replied casually.
She finished getting dressed, changing the subject as she turned to face Brian, âDoes it look good?â
Brianâs eyes lingered on her, his hands encircling her waist, feeling the warmth through her delicate figure. The dress, which wouldâve been rather plain on a runway model, took on an allure of its own on Natalie, hinting at curves in the most flirtatious way.
Glancing toward her neckline, a tinge of regret crossed Brianâs mind. He should have opted for something more conservative.
âNot looking good?â Natalie asked, sensing his silence and growing selfâconscious.
She couldnât tell how the dress looked on her without a fullâlength mirror.
âHow could you not look stunning?â Brian countered softly, his grip tightening as he drew her close into his embrace.
Nipping at her earlobe, he murmured, âIf we didnât have that exhibition to attend, I would have torn it off you
in the car.â
Brian always had a way of saying the most provocative things with the most indifferent expression.
Natalie was momentarily at a loss for words as his hand slipped down, gently pulling at the thin straps off her shoulder. He leaned in, grazing his lips against her skin, eliciting Natalieâs sharp intake of breath.
âTell me, how am I expected to wait yet another fortnight?â Brian whispered. His voice was husky as he watched Natalie flush with shyness.
Half an hour later, they arrived at their destination.
Natalieâs eyes flickered with recognition at the sight of the grand sign for âThe Aerie.â
âI didnât expect the exhibition to be at The Aerie,â she thought, amused by the coincidence.
got off and noticed Natalieâs gaze on the signage. âWhatâs wrong?â
âThe heels are a bit large,â she replied with a sheepish pout.
Natalieâs shoe size had been small before she left the country, and despite the years, her feet hadnât grown as Brian had expected.
âIâll get your measurements for custom orders next time,â Brian said with a hint of apology as he helped her out of the car.
He knelt to inspect her heels and noticed the right one was too big, causing a pinkish abrasion on her skin.
Onlookers familiar with Brian were stunned to see him crouch beside Natalie, one asking the other in disbelief, âIs that Brian?â

The Aerle, which marvelously blends Eastern and Western architectural styles, was handpicked as the venue by the coâhosts. Its semiâenclosed corridor, stretching nearly two kilometers, provided the perfect space for the display of diamond exhibits.
The event featured an exclusive diamond showcase with an afternoon and evening session. The afternoon was open viewing for a select few, with only ten VIP tickets distributed. Brian, of course, held one of these tickets, guaranteeing a guided tour and fullâservice experience.
Having just finished chatting with a previous guest, Dave saw the new arrivals and approached to greet them. But as he drew closer, his stride faltered at the sight of Natalie accompanying Brian. Their eyes met, and a flicker of surprise shone in Daveâs expression.
