Epilogue

They told us in the morning that the entire mansion was filled with steam all night. Our room definitely was. They also told us that they’d never seen a firestorm coexist with a torrential downpour before. I know nothing about that. All I know is that my first night of marriage was easily the best night of my life, and that when I looked in the mirror in the morning, my eyes swirled with water exactly like Acionna’s do.
