Chapter 99: Shyness (3)
The Former Wife of Invisible Wealthy Man
Chen Shuâs eyes were full of concerns for Ye Sui. In the end, she couldnât bear to refuse. âWell, then you can sit by my bed and wait.
âIâll be out as soon as I finish taking a shower. I wonât let you wait too long.â
Just when she finished speaking, Ye Sui realized something was wrong.
What did she just say? What did it mean to let him wait by the bed? What did it mean to wait for her to take a bath and she would not let him wait for a long time?
Following her words, what was the next step? Was it time for the two of them to move together in a certain way?
Ye Suiâs cheeks became hot; she didnât mean that. Although the two had already confessed, the rest must be done slowly.
Ye Sui glanced at Chen Shu; his expression was as per usual, and his eyes were clean. Ye Sui was relieved. Fortunately, he was simple and pure.
Ye Sui cleared her throat and pointed her hand in the direction of the bed. âGo and sit there.â
Chen Shu followed her words to the tee. He turned to Ye Suiâs bed and sat down gently. Then, he continued to look at Ye Sui.
Ye Sui walked into the bathroom under Chen Shuâs gaze. The door closed, and she put the walking stick aside and adjusted the water temperature. After a while, the sound of shower spraying came from inside.
From the closed bathroom door, the sound was muffled, as if coming through a layer of fog. Still, it sounded clearly in the room.
Chen Shu was a little bored, and his eyes looked at the bathroom door inadvertently. But slowly, his face turned red.
Chen Shu touched his nose and looked elsewhere. He closed his eyes, chanting the Heart Sutra in his heart.
Soon, his heart finally calmed down. At this moment, he suddenly heard a âbangâ, as if something had fallen to the ground.
The sound of the shower also stopped suddenly.
Chen Shuâs heart leaped to his throat. Could it be that Ye Sui had fallen? He immediately stood up, dashed to the bathroom door, and shouted anxiously, âYe Sui, what happened?â
He raised his hand, ready to push the door open in the next second. His hand was only an inch away from the door.
But when he thought about Ye Sui taking a bath, his hand stopped abruptly and didnât move forward. He suppressed his emotions and asked, âWhat happened?â
After a few seconds, Ye Suiâs voice came, âNothing, the crutches fell to the ground.â
Chen Shuâs taut body finally relaxed a little, but he still didnât completely let go. âAre you injured?ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Ye Sui: âNo, donât worry.â
Chen Shu breathed a sigh of relief. Ye Sui was afraid he would be concerned, so she added, âIâm really fine, donât worry.â
âGo back to the bed and sit down.â
âAlrightâ
Although Chen Shu replied so, he did not move, still standing at the bathroom door.
He didnât plan to leave. He was afraid that Ye Sui would fall later, so he felt more at ease standing at the door.
Ye Sui didnât know Chen Shuâs thoughts. She turned on the shower again, the water fell, and the sound rang in the room.
Chen Shu leaned there, his tall body resting against the wall. The pair of long legs were sprawled carelessly. In the silent room, he listened to the sound of water.
He was sitting by the bed earlier, far away from the bathroom. Standing so close now, the rustling sound had become more apparent.
Chen Shu lowered his eyes, and his gaze fell on the ground.
The door was closed tightly, with a narrow gap at the bottom. The light from the bathroom came out from the inside and projected little by little through the door and onto the ground.
The light was flickering, like candlelight.
Chen Shu took a deep breath. He stopped staring at the ground and looked away without focus, his thoughts getting more and more confused.
Ye Sui had started to rub the shower gel inside. A faint scent wafted over and quietly sneaked into his nose.
Chen Shuâs breath stuck in his throat. Ye Suiâs natural fragrance gradually spread and became more and more concentrated.
He suddenly raised his hand and patted his face. He then closed his eyes, and his thin lips moved slightly. Tonight, he recited the Heart Sutra for the second time.
Chen Shu chanted until the sound inside stopped.
Ye Sui put on clothes and walked out with her crutches. She looked out, locked eyes with him, and said strangely, âWhy are you here?â
