Chapter 110
Strings of Fate
110- Early and eating My half of the closet has at least twice as much in it as it did yesterday morning. Which still isnât that much since most of my things are at my place, but still. Did Bellamy put some of his stuff over here too? I sort through and nope. Every single additional item is in my size. Hoodies, a dress, a couple pairs of shorts. Each item is something I would have picked for myself. Each item is hanging there, perfectly new looking but with no tags. Bellamy must have gotten more than I thought when we went shopping. I didnât see any of this stuff get purchased. My eyes narrow. How much did he spend? I have clothes already, I didnât need new ones. Although some of the items DO look really comfortable.
Inspiration strikes and I check the little bit thatâs over by the dresser. Sure enough, there are a collection of tags that have been cut off the new items. I check the price of a few items but then I have to stop because Iâm starting to feel nauseous. As someone who buys most of my clothes second hand, the cost of these clothes is insane. Theyâre not fancy brand names or anything, I suspect Bellamy knows I would object to that. But theyâre nice, good quality items, and definitely completely new. Part of me wants to turn them down, but I know that will hurt Bellamyâs feelings. Buying and providing me with clothes is a big deal to him and itâs not like he canât afford it. I decide to let this one slide. I just hope he doesnât overdo it too much. Thereâs only so much closet space after all!
I step into the ensuite and get dressed in a soft medium blue hoodie that Bellamy must have gotten as well as a grey tank top and black leggings that I already had with me. I consider shoes and have to repress a sigh when I realise there is a brand new pair of boots in my size that have âmagicallyâ
appeared in the closet. I decide to just slip on a thick pair of grey socks and call it done. I leave Bellamyâs room, holding the door handle to stop it from clicking as it closes and pulling it closed slowly.
Only then do I carefully, gently turn the handle back into place and release it. Meganâs voice behind me makes me jump.
âSneaking out?â I nearly leap out of my skin.
âBellamy is still sleeping.â I answer. I should have known that morning person Megan would be up.
Plus, I know she still isnât sleeping amazingly well. She looks at my face critically.
âBad night?â She asks. I nod and give a half shrug. She leads me into the main bathroom and gets a washcloth. She soaks it in cool water then has me lay it over my eyes for a few minutes to soothe them. While I sit there with my eyes closed she moves around the bathroom. I can hear the sound of her hair pulling through a brush.
110- Early and eating âDid you and Bellamy fight?â She asks calmly. I shake my head so hard that the washcloth falls off my eyes.
âNo, definitely not. I just had bad dreams⦠all night.â I sigh. Megan repeats my sigh..
âI know the feeling.â
âThis is a disgusting time to wake up. I canât believe you wake up this early on purpose.â I add, changing the subject and trying to brighten the mood. Megan winks at me.
âNot everyone likes to stay up all night, you psycho.â She answers. I shrug.
âThatâs true. There is one bright side to being up this early.â
âYeah?â
âYep. We have heaps of time so letâs make the most epic breakfast ever. Iâm thinking pancakes, eggs, the works.â A grin breaks out across Meganâs face.
âThat sounds like a brilliant idea.â
Megan and I donât just make pancakes and eggs. We make toast, bacon, muffins, sausages, hash browns and a whole cereal station. Only to be let down when we realised that we are out of juice and have enough for like, one person to have coffee. Megan collapses into a stool at the bench, her head in her hands sulking.
âThis was so close to being perfect.â She sighs. I think for a moment then grin.
âI have a solution!â I grab my phone and text Darrien.
Ryann- Megan and I made a fancy breakfast, but we donât have enough coffee or orange juice.
If you can bring those items for us we might be willing to share.
Darrien- ETA 15 minutes. Just got to stop at the store. See you soon!
After a momentâs thought, I send a second message to Aaron.
110- Early and eating Ryann- If youâre planning to stop by this morning, Megan and I made breakfast. Come when youâre ready.
Aaron-
With breakfast all ready, I head upstairs to wake Bellamy. I get to the edge of the bed and stop. Iâve never actually purposefully woken him before. I kind of awkwardly place a hand on his shoulder and shake a little.
âBellamy?â I say quietly. He groans and his eyes crack open.
âWhat time is it?â He grumbles. I shrug.
âNot sure, about eight maybe?â I answer. He groans again. He must be more tired than I thought.
âMegan and I made breakfast, Darrien and Aaron are joining us. Come down when youâre ready, okay?â I move to get up but he grabs my hand and pulls me back down. I stumble and collapse into his chest. He gives me a sleepy smile, his golden eyes staring into mine.
âHey you.â He greets me, I canât help but giggle.
âHi, good morning. Are you gonna come have breakfast with us?â I ask again.
âMmh yes.â He responds, but he makes no effort to move, just wraps his arms around my waist and closes his eyes again. We stay like that for a minute before I say anything.
âUh, Bellamy?â He groans and rolls us over so that Iâm on the bed properly before he pushes. himself up onto his elbows. He leans in, kisses me on the forehead then sits up.
âI know, breakfast. Iâm coming. Just give me a minute. Wait here for me.â
By the time Bellamy is showered, dressed and ready, Aaron and Darrien have both arrived. Although no one has started eating. Clearly they were waiting for us. Megan and I laid out the entire array of breakfast items on the rarely used dining table and now there is the addition of a pot of hot coffee and a bottle of my favourite orange juice. It looks pretty perfect. Bellamy raises an eyebrow.
110- Early and eating âI see you ladies have been busy. This isnât quite what I imagined when you said it was time for breakfast. Good job.â He says approvingly.
âIt was Ryannâs idea.â Megan calls out. We all sit down to eat, and itâs just lovely. Iâve never really had a âfamily mealâ like this. But thatâs what it is. I eat until Iâm ready to be sick, then I sit back and watch all the others as they absolutely demolish the remaining food. Even Megan, despite being smaller than the guys, doesnât stop eating until there is nothing left. When they finish I sit back in shock. Darrien is the one who explains.
âShifter metabolism. We can eat a lot.â I nod my understanding. I guess that makes sense, itâs the same reason Megan gave for not being totally hungover that one time. I suspect I am going to grow to resent that at some point.
