Chapter 215
Strings of Fate
Strings of Fate 215- Silly and sorry Eventually the kitchen is clean and everyone starts to join us downstairs. By midday everyone. is awake except for Harry.
âI should probably wake him up or something, he didnât mention having plans today but I doubt that he planned to sleep so late either. Although he probably should plan for side effects if he is going to keep drinking whatever Cam puts in front of himâ¦â I say dryly.
âCan I do it?â Bellamy asks eagerly.
âHuh⦠you want to⦠wake Harry up?â I ask, a little confused. Is Bellamy trying to be nice to Harry? He nods and I swear he is practically bouncing in place.
âI mean⦠okay?â I tell him, a little doubtfully. His answering smile is absolutely gleeful. Then again, heâs been in a pretty good mood all morning. Iâm not sure anything could kill that smile right now. Stillâ¦
There is something strange about his excitement. I was right to be suspicious. Bellamy disappeared upstairs for a few minutes then into the living room to wake Harry. A minute later there is a sudden blast of loud music and the most high pitched sound I have ever heard Harry make. What the hell did Bellamy do? I run into the living room to find that Bellamy had thrown a container of water over Harry and apparently turned the TV on to a music channel as loudly as he could. The resulting fright has caused Harry to jump up and catch on one of the blankets that made up the side of the fort and yank it down on himself, tangling up and basically trapping him. Bellamy is laughing hysterically. Harry finally gets his head untangled and is now sitting there looking completely dazed and confused. Also wet, his dark hair dripping down his n*ck. His eyes are squinting and Iâd be willing to bet he feels like there is a hammer smashing down on his skull right now. The water was funny, the loud music might be a little cruel. Actually, Bellamy looks like he might be regretting that part too, he might be cheerful but he is still hungover. I turn off the TV and turn to Bellamy, arms crossed over my chest.
âReally?â I ask, staring him down. He just shrugs.
âIâm pretty sure itâs a rule of all sleepovers, donât fall asleep first or be the last up or risk being pranked.
It was unavoidable.â He insists. I roll my eyes.
âI feel like thatâs not a rule.â I comment. To my surprise, Harry comes to his defence.
215- Silly and sorry âActually I think it is. As much as I resent him right now, I would definitely have lost respect for him if he didnât do something like this. Just remember, revenge is a dish best served cold and I am prepared to wait.â He says a warning in his voice. Okay then⦠this is both amusing and concerning. I guess a prank war between Bellamy and Harry might not be the worst. thing. This might actually be the most childish thing I have ever seen Bellamy do. Making friends with Harry, someone who could not care less about his authority or status as Alpha might actually be good for him. He doesnât get a lot of chances to cut loose, not to mention I think a better relationship with Harry will help with the whole jealousy issue.
In the afternoon, I receive a call from Alex. He also sounds a little groggy. These guys are definitely going to have to learn how to pace themselves with Camâs drinks. I also think I might have to get some kind of hangover cure from her and keep it handy for future events.
âHey Alex, whatâs up?â I greet him happily while I watch Darrien, Bellamy, Megan and Kiara work on taking down the fort while Harry gets in the way. If I had to decide who was the child, Harry or Kiara, Harry would definitely be the one I pick.
âUh, hello Miss Gale. I was wondering if you wanted to arrange a time to go over some of the information Iâve found about your magic, or at least about Ananke.â He explains.
âOh, that sounds great. When works well for you?â I ask. He seems a little thrown by that. I guess heâs used to kind of just being told when to do things by Bellamy, but this isnât really a job, more of a favour.
Thereâs no particular rush or anything like that.
âI mean⦠Iâm free this evening. Or tomorrow afternoon works tooâ¦â He trails off.
âHow about tomorrow? I think we could all use a quiet afternoon today.â I joke. He sighs in relief. âI agree. I mean, yes. That works. Thank you. Also I⦠uhâ¦â He trails off awkwardly.
âYes?â I prompt. Alex hesitates before answering.
âI just wanted to apologise. I donât really know exactly how I got so drunk last night, I donât usually have that problem and I didnât think I consumed that much alcohol but I must have been wrong. It was inappropriate of me to behave that way and I promise I will be more careful in the future. That is if you choose to invite me to a similar event, I donât want to assume⦠I mean⦠ugh.â He falls silent.
Emergency calls only 215- Silly and sorry (å«å90%) 11:09 âOh, that wasnât your fault. and chilled out. She forgot to mention that she brought it and you drank some. Itâs really strong and very effective. You couldnât have known. Also, donât be silly, of course you will be invited over again. Weâre friends.â I reassure him. When Alex answers he sounds relieved, although still kind of uncomfortable.
am made a special drink for Shifters, it makes you really relaxed âThank you. Will⦠Will you please pass my apologies on to Alpha Kane? I canât help but feel that Iâve embarrassed myself.â Alex sounds so uncomfortable.
âSure, if you want. But thereâs really no need to apologise. You did nothing wrong. If anything, I should apologise to you for letting someone basically drug you without your knowledge at my dinner party.â I tell him guiltily. He is quick to reassure me.
âNo, no. Not all. Iâm fins. Everything is fine. Thank you.â I decide to give Cam a call. She answers quickly.
âMorning.â She greets me.
âHey Cam. So about that drink you made, the one to get the Shifterâs drunk. Well, the good. news is that it definitely worked. The bad news is that the hangover is killer and none of these guys were prepared for it.â I say it pleasantly but my tone is a clear warning.
âThatâs my bad. I really didnât think it would be that strong. Iâll whip up something to help and send it right over.â She promises.
âThanks. And maybe no more sneak attack beverages? Just give a little warning. They probably would have drunk it anyways, but Alex is all guilty and embarrassed about getting drunk in front of his Alpha. I donât want people feeling bad over things that were clearly not their fault.â Cam sighs.
âI understand. I really do. I wonât let it happen again. I didnât expect Harry to be soâ¦. well⦠you know.
Heâs a clingy drunk. I should have known better. I will be far more careful in the future.â She promises and luckily, I actually believe her. I like Cam, I donât want to have to start drama with her about her drugging my friends. Satisfied, I thank her for coming and let her get back to work.
