Director Liu could not help but agree with what Tan Mo had just said.

The trailer alone would not be enough to hype the people up. Only the director’s and actors’ reputations could achieve the hype that they were hoping for. People would decide if the drama was worth spending hours of their time on or not by assuming the lineup would create something amazing.

It was proof that people trusted Director Liu so much that the dramas he produced would always be good. People believed in his ability as a director.

If the viewers saw that the drama wasn’t as interesting as they thought when it aired, they would stop watching it without any hesitation, no matter how famous the director was.

Not only that, but it would also cause the people to think twice before watching anything directed by him in the future.

From Tan Mo’s tone, Director Liu could sense that Tan Mo had trust in his ability, and he was happy to hear that.

“If people’s understanding of a certain period is misled by a historical drama, then it’s a blasphemy against the truth of what really happened that time,” Tan Mo sighed as she shook her head. “That is why I said that the script you wrote has a lot of entertaining value, but that’s about it. The drama should not be promoted as a historical drama. You don’t need to make any changes to the actual history to make the plot impactful. There are enough devastating and impactful stories that really happened in the past to leave a deep impression on the viewers. From the wars between countries to the fight between bureaucrats to the depressing situation of normal citizens, these could catch the viewers’ attention without any need for modification. All you had to do is respect history and tell the true story. Even part of it is more than enough.”

As for why Yuan Qishan decided on such a script, Tan Mo decided not that it wasn’t worth her time guessing it.

It could be that the scriptwriter was too lazy to do her own research, or that she thought a plot like that was much could catch the viewers’ attention more, or she thought it was historically accurate.

“How can you remember everything so accurately? I mean, it’s one thing for you to remember these events, but to memorize when and where they happened is another story. The director couldn’t help but glance at Shen Jingyi, who was a PhD in history, even if she could not do what Tan Mo just did.

Director Liu did not know that Tan Mo only told him the important bits and left the other stuff out. As a matter of fact, she could recite all the information of every important person during that time if she wanted to.

“Didn’t you say you aren’t majoring in history?” Yuan Qishan asked. She was utterly shocked by what Tan Mo had just done. Despite not being a professional, the little girl was able to remember history in extreme detail.

Tan Jinqi smirked as he looked at his younger sister proudly. That was the sister he knew and loved, a person who would always shut other people up with her knowledge.

“Ms. Shen did say that Momo isn’t a history major student, but she didn’t say that Momo is also part of Professor Tang’s research team. If you want to know, Professor Tang was the one who personally invited Momo to his team,” Tan Jinqi smiled as he glanced at Shen Jingyi. “I wonder why Ms. Shen here forgot to mention this. Aren’t you on the team as well? From what I recall, there are only ten students on the team, right? Do you have a bad memory?”

Luckily for Shen Jingyi, Tan Jinqi didn’t say the fact that she did it on purpose.

“What do you mean?” Yuan Qishan asked, still confused at what was happening. “Are you talking about Professor Tang of Beijing University? How did this little girl get into his team when she’s not majoring in history? She’s still a freshman, too, isn’t she?”

Even if one was a history major student, it would practically be impossible to join Professor Tang’s team.

“Ms. Shen, why don’t you explain it to her?” Tan Jinqi smiled. “Or, do you want my help?”

Shen Jingyi did not reply to him. Her eyes twitched as she could tell something bad was about to happen.

Tan Jinqi had planned to explain from the beginning and didn’t wait for her reply. “Ms. Yuan, why don’t you think about it from another perspective? Why did Professor Tang invite Momo, who’s a freshman and not a history major student, into his exclusive research team? What kind of level Momo has to be in for this to happen?”

“Ms. Shen, is Tan Mo really in the same research team as you?” Director Liu asked.

“Yes, she is in Professor Tang’s research team as well.” Shen Jingyi forced a smile. She had no choice but, to tell the truth. “She joined our team just before the last semester ended. It was almost the finals at that time, and we halted all activities for the research team to focus on our studies, so I didn’t really have the chance to get to know her, and I have no idea she actually has so much understanding into our country’s history.”

“Well, now you do,” Tan Jinqi scoffed.

Despite meeting Shen Jingyi for the first time and had never heard about her from Tan Mo, from how the PhD student acted and talked, he could tell that she wasn’t one of the nice people.

What surprised the oldest brother the most was the fact that there was someone like Shen Jingyi on Professor Tang’s research team, and it made him worried as he had no idea about what the other team members were like.

“Director Liu,” Tan Mo suddenly addressed the director, which caught his attention right away. “I know that there are a lot of other factors in making a drama, and I’m by no means a professional. The only problems I can think of if you were to change the script are the fundings and actors’ schedules. I know what I just said was very immature, so I would appreciate it if you can let me know if anything I said was wrong.”

Director Liu smiled at the young lady, surprised to hear that instead of asking for forgiveness, Tan Mo asked him to point it out if she was wrong.

Most people would say things like “I apologize for making the wrong statement” or such. Whenever the director heard something similar, he would get angry as it meant the people who said that knew that they would say the wrong thing from the start and still intentionally made the other party angry.

It would sound more like the person was saying, “I don’t care if you like what I say or not.”

That was why Director Liu was surprised when Tan Mo had another approach to the situation, that if she had said something wrong, then he should correct her right away without any reserves.
