“You can come back in the next few days once the cast gets organised into their groups.” Director Liu elaborated.

Come back? Don’t even think about it!

Director Liu hated how he had limited connections within the History field.

If not, he would’ve made Shen Jing Yi’s life so hard that she couldn’t even find her place within the field of History anymore!

Meanwhile, he wouldn’t use Yuan Qi Shan as a scriptwriter anymore.

It was just that he didn’t decide to ruin her entire career or anything serious.

That’s because he also held some form of responsibility here.

Yuan Qi Shan’s script was also seen and discussed by him.

It was approved by him.

But the script by Yuan Qi Shan had misconceptions to begin with, which was why Director Liu wanted to see whether there were other more suitable scriptwriters.

But before that, he still had to consider her as an alternative.

What if he couldn’t find anyone else fit for the job?

That was why he only sent Shen Jing Yi away.

Director Liu never said what would happen to Yuan Qi Shan, which was why she felt nervous and unwell.

“Scriptwriter Yuan, you can go back and rest first.” Director Liu said. “If the script requires extra handling and amending, then we might need to further discuss then.”

“Director Liu…” Yuan Qi Shan nervously held her hands together as she started to drip in a cold sweat. Her two hands were clenched together so tightly that her fingernails scraped the back of her palms. “I…I really didn’t think that there would be any problem with the script. I had already consulted Shen Jing Yi.”

Don’t bring up teacher Shen at this moment.

“I know,” said Director Liu. “I was also involved in this script. If there was something wrong with it, I hold responsibility too. Don’t overthink it. Head back first.”

“If the script needed amending, would it still be me…” Yuan Qi Shan asked hesitantly.

It was originally already said that this script was hers to handle.

She had also received multiple invitations from other scriptwriting teams just because she was in charge of this one.

But now that she was part of the team, it seemed like they were going to switch out the scriptwriter.

She should give it a listen as to why this was the case.

If not, her days in the future would not end up well.

“We can talk about this later on.” Director Liu did not answer her directly. “Don’t worry, even if we have to rewrite the script, I won’t be telling this to the public or any of the media. It won’t affect your future career.”

Even though this wasn’t the answer Yuan Qi Shan was hoping for, it was still better than what she had expected.

She knew that even if she wanted to grab her chance, she’d have to do it later on.

With director Liu’s temper today, there’s no way she could push her luck – she could only leave first and wait for another chance.

Yuan Qi Shan left the resting room. From not seeing Tan Mo and Tan Jin Qi to not being able to stand them anymore.

Those two really had to butt their noses into things that weren’t any of their businesses – that was just harming others without benefitting themselves!

Director Liu was part of the team that initially put the script together.

Even he didn’t say anything about it.

Once the show aired, it at least wouldn’t be her burden to carry if the criticism was bad.

It might not even receive a bad response.

These two just had to say something at this moment.

The rewriting of the script led to anger as shown by Director Liu and Shen Jing Yi’s resignation.

Yes, she could see just exactly what was happening.

What did he even mean that she’d be able to come back in a few days?

Truthfully speaking, he just wanted to get rid of her.

Director Liu’s reaction was clearly stated – he had no further use of Shen Jing Yi anymore.

As assistant director, did Tan Jin Qi really think that he could rely on this one thing to raise his reputation in front of director Liu?

In reality, he had added troubles for Director Liu.

Even if Director Liu took the suggestions and wanted to rewrite the script, it’s not like he would thank Tan Jin Qi.

He might even think that Tan Jin Qi was being nosy about the entire thing.

One less thing is better than one more.

What was he doing with Tan Mo?

Yuan Qi Shan’s heart was full of resentment right now.

Even though she didn’t have a chance right now, she would have one at some point.

Tan Jin Qi and Tan Mo better not leave anything bad for her.

If so, there’s no way she’d let them get on with their lives that easily.

She was most definitely going to grab any opportunities she got to target those two!

These two did not show her any kindness.

Right then, the only people left in the resting room was Director Liu, Tan Jin Qi and Tan Mo.

“Let’s wait a while for professor Tang’s feedback,” said Director Liu as he found his assistant.

Even if they didn’t have to rewrite the entire script, there were definitely amendments that needed to be made.

“You go contact the scriptwriting team first and see if you can find a suitable scriptwriter.” Director Liu said. “Find a few extra ones, and if they can discuss together and write the script together, it might be quicker.”

Director Liu received a phone call from Professor Tang a little after three in the afternoon.

“Director Liu.” Professor Tang said.

“You’re too polite, just call me Liu.” Director Liu said hurriedly.

Professor Tang didn’t hold back and changed his use of words immediately. “Liu.”

“Go on.” Director Liu followed on.

“I’ve already got my tickets – I’ll be heading over to yours today,” said Professor Tang.

“Today?” Director Liu was pleasantly surprised. “What time’s your flight? I’ll go over to pick you up.”

“I’m already at section B of the airport.” Professor Tang eyed his ticket. “The plane’s at ten to four. I’ll be landing at around six.”

“Alright. I’ll come pick you up.” Director Liu scrambled for his words. “Professor Tang, is there a huge problem with the script if you’re coming over today?”

“There’s a huge problem.” Professor Tang replied gravely. “Tan Mo was right, what she said is exactly what I want to say, which is why I won’t go into detail.”

“So…do you think there is a chance that we could amend it?” asked Director Liu. “As you know, it’s usually better to amend it than rewrite it since it’d take less time.”

“There’s not much to keep in this script. Even if we were to make amends, we’d have to change quite a bit of it. It would be pretty much rewriting it anyway.” Professor Tang found a spot near the boarding gate and sat down.

Even though Professor Tang’s reputation was well known, he still only purchased Economy class tickets.

But of course, he would be arranged first-class tickets and the best of the best kinds of treatment if he were invited to different well-known events and talks.

“Of course, in regards to the script, you’re more professional than me in the field. You can make the final judgement,” said Professor Tang.

“If we were to amend huge parts of it, it really would be similar to rewriting the entire script.” Director Liu said helplessly.

“Actually, if you wanted to shoot an original historical drama, then you could follow along the lines of the Wei and Jin dynasties while consulting the archives of the dialogues from that era. It’d be good enough if you added a little bit of spice with the props and art surrounding it.” Professor Tang said bluntly.

After all, he had been an advisor to Hou Yue Hai.
