“Also, she’s Keli’s best friend, and Keli addresses me as uncle. How could I let Tan Mo call me brother then?” Wei Zhiqian couldn’t help but make a joke. “If I’d known that Wei Keli had such a personality, I would never have let Tan Mo follow Keli around and call me uncle. I would just have had her treat me as a brother instead. Heck, I would even have made sure Keli called Tan Mo Aunt Tan Mo.”

Xiao Menghan stared at her son speechlessly. She would never have thought of what Wei Zhiqian had just said and was very impressed by his logic.

Since Wei Zhiqian wanted to follow Xiao Menghan to the Tan Mansion, there was no reason for her to refuse. After putting her makeup on, they left their home together.

When the doorbell at Tan Mansion rang, and Auntie Guo saw who was at the door, she could already guess what reaction the male members of the Tan family would have.

She walked back into the living room and announced, “Mrs. Wei and Young Master Wei are here.”

“Why is he everywhere?” Tan Jinyi immediately demanded.

“He’s here again?” Tan Jinsheng sighed.

“Don’t tell me he wants to follow us to help Mo Mo buy some clothes?” Tan Wenci said.

“Of course he does,” Tan Jinqi guessed confidently. “Mom, you better make sure Wei Zhiqian doesn’t pay for the clothes. Why should he pay when we are the ones wanting to dress Mo Mo up? Does he want to take our right to spend money on her away?”

“Jinqi is right!” Tan Wenci agreed. “Wait, I don’t think you can handle Wei Zhiqian alone…”

There was no way Xiao Menghan would stop Wei Zhiqian since he was her son. All she could do was just watch from the sidelines.

“I’m going too!” Tan Wenci said.

“Then we are also going!” Tan Jinsheng added.

“We should. At first, I thought this would be a good time for Mo Mo to spend time with Mom and Auntie Xiao, but now that Wei Zhiqian is going also, it’s not a lady-only shopping trip any longer. We’re all going.” Tan Jinqi nodded.

Xu Mingzhen was completely dumbfounded now.

If they were all going, that would be eight people in total.

The idea of eight people cramming into a store just to help Tan Mo pick out her new clothes was too ridiculous for Xu Mingzhen.

Before they could come to a decision, Xiao Menghan and Wei Zhiqian had already come in.

The family had no choice but to greet them at the door.

“Zhiqian wanted to come with us when he heard we were going out shopping with Mo Mo,” Xiao Menghan said apologetically.

“All the boys here want to follow along as well now that Zhiqian is tagging along…” Xu Mingzhen sighed.

In the end, all eight of them left Tan Mansion together in two cars.

Tan Wenci quickly hopped into the driver’s seat of the car Tan Mo was in, while Xu Mingzhen got into the passenger seat.

Xiao Menghan was already in the back seat with Tan Mo when Wei Zhiqian asked to join them. “This car is full. Why don’t you join the brothers?”

Wei Zhiqian glared at his mother.

“Uncle, have fun with my brothers.” Tan Mo smiled and waved to Wei Zhiqian.

Ultimately, Wei Zhiqian had no choice but to get in the car with the three Tan male siblings.

On their way to the mall, Xiao Menghan asked Xu Mingzhen, “Which store are you planning to take Mo Mo to?”

Xu Mingzhen told her friend the name of the shop and said, “The dresses they have are all angelic. I really like them.”

“Oh! I thought of the same place as well.” Xiao Menghan clapped. “Their style is a perfect match for Mo Mo!”

The brand they were talking about was a luxurious one. Only a handful of celebrities worldwide wore their custom-made dresses every year.

Only two or three celebrities from the vast Hua Empire ever had had the chance to wear custom-made dresses by them.

Since most celebrities would only wear a certain dress once in their lives for ceremonies, they would usually borrow one from a famous brand. However, it wasn’t possible to borrow or even rent one from the brand the mothers were talking about.

The brand was famous for only picking the most famous celebrity to wear their dresses, but, despite that, celebrities would still line up to wear their products.

Being able to wear the brand’s product was proof of those celebrities’ fame.

Other than the custom-made dresses that a select few people could wear every year, the brand also had a few in-store products. If one really wanted to wear their products, they would have to spend a lot of money to purchase one as the brand would never rent their dresses out.

Since a single dress could cost millions, even the most famous celebrity would be reluctant to buy one, especially when they were only going to wear it once.

Xu Mingzhen was a VIP customer of the store. However, she wasn’t a VVIP yet, since less than ten of these were ever chosen.

She wasn’t too worried about the price tag.

“Well, I think that we don’t need the custom-made ones for Mo Mo, you know, like those dresses with a long train. They do look good, but it’s too flashy and high-profile for Mo Mo’s age,” Xu Mingzhen said. “Since Tan Mo is attending the ceremony as the scriptwriter, we don’t want her stealing the director and actors’ spotlights.”

“You’re right,” Xiao Menghan nodded in agreement. “Mo Mo just has to wear something that makes her look good. If we put something too elegant on her, it would seem like she’s a little girl trying to wear an adult’s clothes.”

Unlike Xu Mingzhen, Xiao Menghan was a VVIP customer of the store, but there was no need for them to use it to get a regular dress from the store.

With their target set, they drove toward the mall where the store was located.

Since Wei Zhiqian had been the one who drove his mother to the Tan Mansion, and since Tan Wenci was driving his wife and daughter, Wei Zhiqian had to drive the three Tan brothers to the mall in his car.

After parking their cars, they all headed into the mall together.

The shop assistant recognized Xiao Menghan and Xu Mingzhen the moment they walked in and greeted them, “Mrs. Wei, Mrs. Tan, welcome.”

Inside her head, the shop assistant was utterly surprised to learn that these two women were actually acquainted, and, from the looks of it, they were pretty close as well.

“We’re here to see if there are any available evening gowns for her,” Xu Mingzhen said as she rested her hand on Tan Mo’s shoulder. “Since she’s still young, we hope there’s something that’s not too mature.”

The shop assistant also recognized Tan Mo since the little girl had to attend a lot of parties since she was from a prestigious family. As formal attire was a requirement for the parties she attended, she would frequent the store.

Of course, the store they were in now wasn’t the only place they would buy from. Xu Mingzhen would usually take Tan Mo to different brands for different designs.

“Your daughter has a slender body and long legs, but since she’s still young, most of our products would not suit her. I think it’s better if we get her something that would show her legs. That would suit her age and make her look lively as well,” the shop assistant offered and went to get two different dresses.

She came back with one of her colleagues, each having a different dress in their hands. “Which do you prefer? This one here is a short dress. It should reach her knees. These shining stones on the blue dress are actual diamonds. This is crafted with our brand’s unique technique.”
