Chapter 454 Forgot To Inform Daddy
A Crazy Night Novel
Christina stopped in her tracks right after she turned around. She hesitated for a moment before opening the door.
Before she could say anything, Nathaniel walked in.
Christina followed behind him and realized there was nothing in his hands.
Iâve been conned again!
Christina stopped him and questioned, âDidnât you say you brought the divorce agreement? Why are your hands empty?â
Nathanielâs brows twitched, and he took out a contract from his pocket. âTake your time reading it.â
Christina didnât expect him to be so straightforward. Just as she was about to open and read it, she heard Lucas and Camila.
âDaddy!â
The two kids hadnât seen their father for almost a week, so they immediately climbed up Nathanielâs legs.
Nathaniel bent over slightly, carried them up, and planted a kiss on each of their faces. âDid you guys behave when Iâm not here?â
âOf course!â Camila blinked confidently. Nathanielâs heart melted at the sight of that.
Lucas pouted. âDaddy, you havenât come to play with us for a long time. Did you forget that this is your home?â
Nathaniel kissed his forehead. âI have been busy these past few days, so I couldnât play with you guys. What kind of gifts do you like?â
âDolls!â
âModel airplanes!â
Nathaniel put them down. âAll right. Iâll ask my assistant to bring them to you guys tomorrow.â
Christina walked over and brought the two kids to their rooms. âYou guys can draw in your rooms first. I need to discuss something with Daddy.â
The two children assumed their parents needed some time together, so they went back to their rooms obediently.
Christina walked to the dining table and opened the divorce agreement. The requirements seemed normal, but her expression darkened as she read further.
She arched a brow. âWhy do we still have to live together after getting divorced?â
Then, whatâs the point of having a divorce?
Nathanielâs hands were on his waist as he replied lazily, âBecause a divorce will affect Hadley Corporationâs shares. Do you know how much a one percent fluctuation is worth?â
Hadley Corporation was a large company worth billions, so a small percentage decrease could result in the loss of tens of millions.
Christina couldnât suppress her anger. How is this a divorce? Itâs just a change of identity! I canât accept this excuse.
âI can promise not to publicly announce our divorce, but thereâs no reason for us to live together.â
Nathaniel shrugged and responded logically, âWell, thatâs just the way it is. These are my requirements for a divorce. If you canât fulfill them, then thereâs nothing I can do.â
Christinaâs eyes turned cold, and she threw the divorce agreement into the trash can. Even doing so couldnât pacify her anger.
What kind of cr*ppy excuse is this?
Nathaniel was purposely making things difficult for her. It was clear he was waiting for her to compromise.
Nathaniel thought she would give in, so he approached her and patted her slender shoulders. âI didnât handle things properly, then. Can you forgive me?â
He had his back to him and didnât notice her expression.
After a moment, Christina said calmly, âGet out.â
Nathaniel froze as the words he was about to say became choked in his throat. Displeasure was written all over his face.
Nathaniel was tired of being rejected despite his repeated attempts to please her.
He retracted his hand and walked out.
When the door closed with a thud, Christina felt like the whole world had quieted down.
Right after Nathaniel left the apartment, a private detective hiding in the shadows reported his whereabouts to Madison.
At this moment, Madison and Anya were in the condominium. They smiled triumphantly upon hearing the news.
âIn the past, Nathaniel would definitely spend the night at Christinaâs place, but this time he left in less than an hour. It seems like their relationship is falling apart!â
Madison didnât expect her plan to succeed after trying so many ways to ruin Christinaâs and Nathanielâs relationship.
Anya scoffed coldly. âWe must make them divorce. Then, without Nathaniel as her backing, Christina wonât be able to compete in taking over the Gibson family business with me.â
It was easy for her to deal with Christina, but she couldnât mess with Nathaniel. Therefore, she must ruin their relationship first.
Christina wouldnât pose a threat to her if the former wasnât with Nathaniel anymore.
âDonât worry. I have already received news that Christina had asked Nathaniel for a divorce. She even went to the office to make a scene today.â Madison didnât expect Christina to act so quickly.
âThis is good news! Letâs toast to this!â
Anya raised her glass and clinked it against Madisonâs glass. They exchanged smiles, knowing that their grand plan was about to succeed.
Another week passed in a blink of an eye.
After Christina sent the children to school, she went to her new office.
She was satisfied with the location of the new studio, which was in the city center, so transportation was convenient. The office building was new, with fewer people and strict management.
When Christina arrived, Rayne was unpacking their things. The air was stuffy as the air conditioner was not turned on.
âWhy did you not turn on the air conditioner?â Christina walked in, picked up the remote, and turned on the air conditioner.
Immediately, there was cold air, and Christina could breathe again.
Rayne put down her work and smiled. âI was worried about the electricity bill.â
This was a commercial building, so the utility bills were charged at a higher rate.
Rayne really cared for her boss, so she was even trying to save money for her.
Christina smiled and put down the remote. âIâm more concerned about you suffering in the heat.â
Rayne was touched and ran over to hug Christina. âIâm touched, but we have changed three studios since we started working together.â
Christina patted her hand lightly. âThis is probably the last one.â
She had already brought the place, so this would save the trouble of them paying rent.
With multiple sources of income now, she didnât have to worry about financial issues at all.
âThatâs great. Iâll make sure to arrange everything nicely so that you can work comfortably!â Rayne walked away excitedly.
Christina also helped in arranging their things. Although she was about to leave for Hallsbay, her studio had always been the fruit of her lifetimeâs labor.
She stayed in the studio the whole afternoon before picking up her children and returning to the condominium.
After dinner, Christina packed her things and asked with concern, âWe are about to leave for Hallsbay tomorrow. Have you guys packed your things?â
They didnât have much luggage since the Gibson residence had everything they would need. They only net ded to pack some clothes.
Camila and Lucas packed a small suitcase each and stuffed it with their textbooks and toys.
The two children ran over to Christina and hugged her legs. They were adorable, resembling little furry animals.
Lucas asked, âMommy, has Daddy packed his things?â
Camila shouted, âWe were too busy packing and forgot to tell Daddy!â
