Chapter 48

Ellie's P.O.V

"W-what's wrong? Why do we need to leave?" Lucas asked his voice was shaken, it's the first time I've heard him speak in 4 days and he was clearly freaking out because we were told to leave. His voice sounds ruff like sandpaper scraping against wood. He definitely needs some water.

She kept trying to get us to leave but me and Lucas both weren't going anywhere until she told us what was wrong. Kai came in and tried to bring me out but I punched him and told him I wasn't going anywhere.

"Just tell us what's wrong, why do we need to leave?" I shout at the doctor, you could tell my the time of my voice I wasn't going to leave and I was extremely nervous.

"Nothing is wrong calm down! Rachel is fine I promise, it's yous two I'm worried about, yous haven't left this room in over 48 hours! I get that yous are worried for Rachel but I promise she isn't going anywhere, go get washed and changed, go eat and get something to drink before yous kill yourselves!" She says, we both sigh in relief and fall back into out chairs when she said that nothing was wrong with Rachel

"Don't do that to me! I though something was seriously wrong!" Lucas said angrily

"Something is wrong, yous two aren't looking after yourselves properly yous need to go eat and get some sleep. I don't want to see you both in here until tomorrow morning now go" She says, we both don't move.

"I'm not leaving Rachel, I already had a shower and I'm not hungry" I said sternly

Before she could say anything Lucas spoke up. "Yeah me too I'm not leaving Rachel's side and I'm not hungry either" he says

"You got a shower two days ago Ellie and you both haven't slept or ate anything in nearly five days. That's not good for you yous need to eat and get rest!" She says

"We told you we are fi.." before I could finish my sentence Kai interrupted me

"NO your not fine, the both of you need to think about yourselves or a minute not one of you has had any sleep in the past 4 days look at yous. Yous have big black circles under your eyes and yous have lost weight. I get that yous are scared and worried for Rachel, I want her to be okay to but right now yous both need to get up and sort yourselves out!" He says but again not one of us make a move to get up. This only angers him more

"Lucas I'm your boss, you do as I say now move!" He demands

"Yeah your my boss but your also supposed to be my best friend! She's my girlfriend You should understand that I want her to be okay!" Lucas shouts at him

"I do understand and as your best friend I'm telling you to get up, and get washed, get something to eat and drink and get some rest before you hurt yourself. Think about Rachel she won't want to see the both of you like this will she? Your her boyfriend" he says to a Lucas and then he turns to me "and your her best friend she won't want to see you like this she will want yous both to be okay and looking after yourselves!" He says, I know he's right and he's just looking out for the both of us

"Yeah your right" I say, he smiles when he sees me stand up "I'll go get something to eat but I'm coming straight back here" I say, he was about to protest but I held my hand up to him and turned to Lucas "go get a shower, you stink I just didn't want to say anything. As soon as you get a shower we can come back here and I'll bring you something to eat" I said to him, he nods his head and stands up also

We both make our way to the door, walking around Kai and the doctor before running in different directions, both wanting to get back as soon as possible incase Rachel wakes up or something happens.

It's the next day now, Rachel hasn't woken up yet but she is slowly improving which helps me and Lucas calm down a bit. We both got some sleep last night right beside Rachel in the chairs. It wasn't that comfortable but none of us wanted to leave. Kai was just happy that we both got up and sorted ourselves out. I went to the kitchen, washed my hands and made me and Lucas chicken wraps, as the chicken goujons were cooking I went up to my room and got a quick shower and washed my hair, I brushed my teeth and then went back downstairs to make the wraps. I put cheese lettuce and chilli sauce in them and grabbed two bottles of water before making my way back to the hospital ward Rachel was laying in. Once I entered the room I saw Lucas in freshly cleaned clothes with wet hair. He had gotten as shower and smelt a lot better.

We both just sat in silence eating our wraps. Kai and Doctor Grey were pleased to see us eating and in fresh clothes, they still tried to get us to leave and go to bed but we refused and said that we would sleep here.

Rachel's P.O.V

I wasn't in pain anymore but I was still in darkness. Is this what it's like being dead? I couldn't see, hear, smell or feel anything. It was just black. Suddenly out of no where I could hear voices, if sounded like shouting. It was weird, I haven't heard anything in I don't know how long but it felt like ages but now all of a sudden I can hear shouting. It sounded a bit like Kai and I suddenly felt nervous as to why he was shouting and what he was shouting at.

I tried and tired to open my eyes but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't open them, it was like they were glued shut. I wanted to know what was happening so bad. Why was Kai shouting?  Who was he shouting at? Why can't I open my eyes? Where am I? Why is it that all I can see is black? Am I dead?

Millions of questions were swarming around my head, I tried to focus on what I want most. To be able to see anything other than blackness and to know what Kai was shouting about. He sounded angry but also concerned?

As if god was listening I could suddenly make out a little of what he was saying. "... I get that yous are scared and worried for Rachel, I want her to be okay to but right now yous both need to get up and sort yourselves out!" He shouted. I didn't understand, why was him and whoever he is shouting at worried for me?

It all came too rushing back too fast, I could no longer hear anything but I felt a sudden pain in my head with the memories that happened I don't know how long ago. The gunshots, glass shattering, Ellie screaming, me falling to the ground and the excruciating pain I felt from being shot. I shut out my thoughts trying to calm the pain in my head down, it worked. I just lay there, wherever I was and listened to the shouting I could hear in the distance.

"... Think about Rachel she won't want to see the both of you like this will she? Your her boyfriend" kai says, I now know he's talking to Lucas, there was a short pause before he continued to speak "and your her best friend she won't want to see you like this, she will want yous both to be okay and looking after yourselves!" He says to who I now also know is Ellie. I still didn't understand what he was shouting or though. What wouldn't I want to see them like? Is Lucas cheating on me with Ellie??!!

No they wouldn't do that! Ellie is like a sister to me, she would never betray me like that! Plus she's with Kai and he would go mad, he wouldn't even speak he would probably just shoot Lucas and scream bloody murder at Ellie. I trust Ellie and I trust Lucas they would never do me like that!

I remembered the last part of Kai's sentence again, What did he mean by they both need to look after themselves? I was so confused nothing was making any since.

I don't know how long it's been but I'm still laying in complete darkness, I keep trying to open my eyes but it wasn't working. I also tried to move but it's like I'm tied down unable to move. I try one more time to wake up, I've realised that I'm in some sort of unconscious state probably from being shot. I try so hard to move my hand and I manage to move it a tiny little bit. It feels like a huge heavy weight is on me, but I somehow manage to move my hand again until I give up. It was to hard and just that little movement tired me right out.

Ellie's P.O.V

My eyes shot down to my hand that was holding onto Rachels as I feel like it just moved. I quickly let go to see if she would move it again and then looked at Lucas. "Did you see that?!" I ask him, he looks at me confused for a moment before looking at where I'm looking down at Rachel's hand.

"See what?" He asked

"I swear I felt her move her hand!" I say

"Really?" He asks, I look up to his face to see how excited he looked. I'm sure my facial features match his with how I'm feeling right now. She might wake up!

"Nothing is happening, maybe you imagined it" Lucas says after a while

"No I didn't, I swear I felt it!"

We both just stare at her hand hoping and praying that she moves again and wakes up. She moves her hand and this time not only did I feel it, I saw it and Lucas saw it too!

"I told you" I exclaimed

"Rachel? Please wake up!" We both say at the same time

"Come on beautiful, wake up I miss you so much!" Lucas says looking at her face, pleading with her to wake up. I know how much he has missed her, he really does care about her just like me.

"Come on Rach you can do it! Please I need my best friend back!!" I beg her squeezing her hand a little before letting go again and waiting for any more signs of her waking up.

I'm a wee bit worried that on my last chapter I got 60 reads but only 6 votes, is my chapters boring? 😂 to be honest sometimes I think they can be a bit.

Anyway thanks to yous who vote on my chapters, it reassures me a little bit that I must be doing something right.

So Rachel is trying to wake up, will she be able to wake up or will he be unconscious for longer?
