Chapter 49

Rachel's P.O.V

I felt like some of the weight has been lifted off of me however I still felt a little heavy, I'm trying so hard to wake up but no matter how hard I try open my eyes it doesn't seem to work. I wonder how long I've been unconscious for. I really hope it hasn't been too long! I hope everyone isn't really worried about me, I would hate for them to be freaking out. I'm okay... I think so anyway, I mean I feel fine the only thing is I just can't seem to open my eyes!

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Ellie and Lucas talking really loudly.

"Rachel? Please wake up!" They both said at the same time

"Come on beautiful, wake up I miss you so much!" Lucas says, hearing him say how much he has missed me really made me happy.

"Come on Rach you can do it! Please I need my best friend back!!" I hear Ellie say, I felt a heavy squeeze on my hand and I know it was Ellie trying to reassure me that she's there, I don't think she was supposed to squeeze my hand so hard but it kinda hurt.

I wish I could talk, I wish I could tell them that I'm trying. I'm trying to wake up and talk to them but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll keep trying though! I'm not giving up, I will wake up and give them both a big hug and tell them how much I miss them!

Lucas's P.O.V

I got so excited yesterday and I was full of hope when Rachel started to move her hand, I thought she was going to wake up but she never. Kai asked me if I wanted to go out to collect drug money for him, to see if it helped take my mind of Rachel but I wasn't in the mood. I'd probably end up killing the man. It's weird because I haven't known Rachel for that long, it's only been about 2 months since I've been going out with her and I've become so close to her in that little time. I think I love her, I would marry her without a doubt.

The fact that I haven't seen her beautiful blue eyes, or her contiguous smile, or her angelic voice that makes me smile every time I hear her voice, I haven't seen all those things in a week. A week! I miss her so much, and I know she's trying to wake up. She's been trying to move her hand again but all she manages to do is twitch her fingers. Ellie is worrying too, shes upset and highly worried for her best friend. They are like sisters so this hit her hard.

I'm currently sitting beside Rachel, I'm not holding her hand just incase she tries to move again and my hold prevents her from doing so. Kai forced Ellie to go out with him, I don't know where he took her but all I know is she was mad at him for forcing her to leave Rachel. She tried to stay but he literally dragged her out saying that she has to get out and try take her mind off of Rachel.

She is still annoyed at him about the whole situation on her brother. I don't know exactly what happened I just know bits and pieces and now add this onto the list, well let's just say there may be fights wherever they are.

Kai's P.O.V

I was sitting in my office when I found out that Josh, Ellie's brother is not the trader, it was Jacob. One of the other guys in my Mafia, I asked Oscar to go get him and take him to the basement. I decided that I was going to take Ellie out and apologise about not letting her go out with her brother and the reason why. I hope she understands.

It was a lovely sunny day so I was planning on taking her to the beach. I walked out of my office and down to the hospital ward Rachel was in. Another reason why I wanted her to take Ellie out was to try get her mind off of Rachel. She hasn't been outside in almost a week and she's barley left Rachel's side, I understand that she's afraid and worried for Rachel but the doctor said she is going to be okay and by Ellie being stuck in that room all day it's not healthy for her.

When I got to the room Rachel was in and asked Ellie to come with me she refused, just like Lucas refused to leave but only this time I forced Ellie to come and now we are sitting in the car driving to the beach.

"Look I know you didn't want to leave Rachel but sitting beside her all day isn't doing any of yous any good" I say, she turns around and glares at me "don't look at me like that" I warn but it was more like an empty threat. I wasn't actually mad at her because I knew she wasn't my biggest fan at the moment. "I'm sorry for dragging you out especially because your mad at me and worried about Rachel but I promise Rachel will be okay" I try to reassure her

"Don't make promises you can't keep, your not a doctor you don't know if she's going to be okay or not" she says not making eye contact with me but staring out the window instead "Where are we going anyway?" She asks

"No I'm not a doctor but you heard the doctor yourself she said that Rachel is going to be okay an...." I started but was cut off by Ellie interrupting me

"If she is going to be okay why hasn't she woken up yet? If the bullet missed everything important why is she not awake?!" Ellie shouted, after she finished shouting she broke down crying, I rested my hand on her thigh as I had to keep the other hand on the road. I know how worried she is and I just wish I could make her feel better.

"Shhh, it's okay she will be okay" I say

"Everybody needs to stop saying that because it's not helping!" She shouts

"Hey hey hey, calm down"

"Don't tell me to calm down, you don't know how I feel right now" She shouts

"Off course I know how you feel right now Ellie, I have been shot before and my friends have been shot before, my little brother died because of getting shot!" I shouted at her, I have never spoke about my brother to her before and this was not the way I wanted this conversation to be brought up.

Ellie's P.O.V

"Off course I know how you feel right now Ellie, I have been shot before and my friends have been shot before, my little brother died because of getting shot!" He shouts, I could tell he was starting to get angry but I could also tell he was extremely hurt. I felt bad for shouting at him and saying that he didn't know how I felt. I didn't even know he had a brother, I never knew that his brother died and I feel so sorry for him

"I-i I'm sorry I didn't know that" I say

"I know you didn't, not many people do know that" he says

"I'm sorry" I say, not really knowing what to say

"Why are you sorry, you weren't the one to pull the trigger" he says, I could tell he was trying to cover up the fact thst he was hurting by acting like it's not bothering him

"Don't do that" I say, and take hold of the hand that is on my thigh

"Do what?" He asks

"Pretend that you don't care and that your fine when you really do and your not, you can tell me I won't judge you I'm here for you if you need to talk" I say squeezing his hand reassuringly

"Thank you but I don't want to talk about it right now, right now I just want to have a good day out with my girlfriend" he says. It was then that I realised we had came up to a beach. It was beautiful and there surprisingly wasn't many people here

"Sounds good" I say and we both get out of the car.

We had been walking down the beach for a half an hour now, Kai told me everything about Why he acted the way he did with my brother and I forgave him. He was, once again trying to keep me safe and I appreciated that. I was so glad that Josh wasn't the traitor. I just got my brother back I wouldn't like to think I would lose him again so soon. I don't know what I would do if he had of been the mole and Kai was going to kill him. I couldn't just act like he didn't kill my brother and still like him. I would have to leave and I don't want that, I don't want to leave. Even though it's dangerous I love it here with Kai, I really like him. And I love having Oscar, Lucas and everyone else as my friends however I do miss Lily. I'll have to organise a day out with her someday.

Me and Kai were walking down the beach when his phone started ringing. It was Lucas. Kai Put the phone on speaker and what Lucas said made me so happy.

"Rachel woke up!"
