Chapter 60

Kai's P.O.V

It's going to be hard to walking away from her and letting her go. It will be even harder not having her around the house everyday. I love her which is why I need to do this. I can't keep locked up in my mansion if that's not what she wants. I'm not going to force her into loving me because I want real love not fake love. I just need to make sure she's okay first and then I'll leave.

I walk up to the door and knock, after a few moments the door opens and there she stands. Right in front of me. The women I love.

"H-how did you know I'd be here?" She asks

"Funny feeling" I lie

"What do you want? I'm not coming back with you" She says sternly

"I'm just making sure your safe" I tell her honestly, her eyes go wide

"Your not going to drag me back?" She asks surprised

"Not unless that's what you want" I tell her. I can tell by her reaction that she's surprised at what I just said, her jaw drops and her eye brows raise in shock.

"N-no I wa-want to stay here?" She says but it sounds more like a question. I was disappointed to say the least but I knew she was going to say that anyway.

"Okay, well I'm going to have some of my men looking over this house for a while just incase something happens"

"That's okay you don't ha-" she started but I cut her off

"My enemies could have saw you leave my place and I won't allow that to put you in danger" I tell her sternly making sure to let her know I'm not taking no for an answer

"Okay, well thank you" She says giving me a small smile

I say goodbye to her and she gives me a small hug apologising again for smashing my window. I laugh a bit thinking about how she smashed my window and then told her that she'd better start paying me back for that. She said she will and then I told her I was only joking and left. I left with everyone apart from Lucas, Oscar and Rachel who wanted to stay for a while.

In the car on the way back felt weird, lonely, different. The woman I feel in love with, the women I swore I was never going to let go. Left.

I left the house there with the mindset that I was going to bring her back no matter what on,y to realise that if I really loved her I couldn't force her into a life that she no longer wants.

Ellie's P.O.V

I couldn't believe when Kai showed up at Sophia's house, I mean I could but I couldn't believe that he let me stay. He didn't force me to go back, didn't scream at me for leaving or for smashing his window. Didn't drag me out of there like I thought when I first opened the door.  He really shocked me when he said that he wasn't going to bring me back.

I almost felt bad for him, he looked upset and disappointed when I said that I didn't want to go back to the mansion. I'll definitely miss that place and Kai but I believe this is what's best for me. I'm sure I'll be able to visit and Rachel can visit me with little Ollie, I'll phone them every once in a while as well just to see how things are.

It's been 2 years since I've moved out of the mansion and let me tell you the not been easy. I miss everybody so much and I haven't been allowed to visit for "my own safety" that's what Kai keeps saying and it's driving me insane! I want to go visit my family, I miss the mansion too. Kai has come to visit me a few times, I still like him and a part of me is wanting to take him back. I'm just scared that if I do things will go south again between us and I don't want to go through that again. But I can't feel that way about him anymore because I've got a boyfriend. Kai doesn't know about him yet and I'm hoping to keep it that way for a while longer because I'd hate to see his reaction. I've been going out with him for a year now and I'm happy, I don't want Kai to ruin it.

I've moved out of Sophia's and I've got my own little place, today I've got little Ollie over with me for a sleep over. I can't believe how big he's gotten. He's now three. He's so cute and I just love him so much. I'm taking him out for ice cream and then we are going to the park.

Marcus and savannah are coming with us with their little girl, Clara you call her. She's only 1 and 3 months and she's honestly the cutest little girl ever! I couldn't wait to see her again! I've only met her once before and that was her birthday party, the only time I was allowed to go to the mansion.

I remember that day like it was yesterday, it was the first time I had seen or spoken to Kai in a year and it was so awkward. None of us knew what to say to each other so when it was just us left in the kitchen for 5 minuets it was extremely uncomfortable.

The door bell brought be out of my thoughts. I quickly went to go answer it knowing it will be little Ollie, I can't wait to see his wee face when I tell him we are going for ice cream. He absolutely loves ice cream, I can just imagine his little face light up when I tell him. That thought makes me smile.

I open the door. "Max?" I ask shocked "What are you doing here?" I ask him

"Woah I thought you'd be a little happier to see me" He chuckles nervously "I thought I'd surprise you, you aren't doing anything are you?" He asks

"No I am happy to see you, sorry I just wasn't expecting you to show up at my house that's all, come in" I say and give him a hug, he hugs me back and kisses my cheek.

"I missed you" He says as he pulls away

"Me too" I say, we walk into the living room and I sit down on his knee. Just like I used to do with Kai. NO! Ellie! Don't think like that! You can't do this you love Max and you don't want to hurt him. I mentally scold myself.

"So are you busy? You looked like you were expecting someone" He says

"Oh yeah, my nephew I'm taking him out for ice cream and then meeting up with my friends and their kid to go to the park, I'm sure they wouldn't mind tho if you wanted to tag along" I tell him

"Are you sure? I don't want to intrude" he says

"No don't be silly, off course you can come" I assure him just before he gets the chance to answer the door bell rings again

"Oh! That'll be Ollie, come on I'd like to introduce you to his mum, she's like my sister!" I say pulling him up of his seat and rushing to the door.

I open the door and Ollie runs and hugs my legs "Ellie!" He exclaims excitedly

"Hey buddy" I say crouching down to his height and giving him a hug, once I stand back up I see Rachel

"Oh! Rachel, this is Max my boyfr-" I say but cut myself off once I see Kai walk up to my door

"Kai? What are you doing here?" I ask shocked not expecting him to come to my house

"I thought I'd surprise you" He says then his eyes meet Max, suddenly he doesn't look very happy. His eyes go hard and he glares at Max's hand holding my waist.

Uh oh.

"Who is that?" He grits out angrily

"Uh... this is Max.. my um.. Boyfriend" I say awkwardly, scared of Kai's reaction. He has no reason to react badly, we have been split up for just over 2 years now.

"What?!" He shouts

"Bad Kai! No shouting indoors" Ollie shouts at him pointing an accusing finger at him

"Now's not the time Ollie, why don't you go sit in auntie Ellie's Living room" Rachel tells her son noticing that this probably, no scratch that, will end badly. Ollie runs off into the living room.

"You never mentioned you had a boyfriend" Kai says I can tell he's trying to keep calm.

"Uhh you never asked and I didn't want to make things more awkward between us by bringing it up" I tell him

"Am I missing something here?" Max asks, I can tell he feels a little uncomfortable but he's doing s good job at masking it.

"This is Kai, my Ex" I tell him

"Oh" He says

"It's nice to meet you.. Max? wasn't it?" Rachel says

"Yeah nice to meet you too!" He replies to Rachel

"Ellie can I talk to you in private for a moment?" Kai asks

"I'm sure whatever you have to say you can say in front of these two" I say

"Fine! I want you to break up with him" he says angrily

"Excuse me?" Max says

"Max, please don't" I tell him

"No! Who is he to tell you to break up with me?" He asks

"She's mine boy now back off" Kai says

"Um no! She's not yours! She's my girlfriend I think your the one who needs to back off" Max answers him back, I can tell Kai didn't like that. He, if possible looks even angrier

"If you know what's good for you Pal you'd fuck Off" Kai threatens

"I'm not afraid of you dickhead now get out of my girlfriends house before I phone the police" Max shouts

Kai chuckles.

"Max please" I say

"Why are you sticking up for him Ellie?" He shouts

"Its more complicated than that just please, go into the kitchen I don't want you getting hurt" I tell him

"I'd listen to her, Kai isn't one to be messed with" Rachel warns

"I'm not leaving you here with your crazy Ex" Max says

"It's your funeral" Kai states looking bored and angry at the same time

"Dude seriously just piss off, your her past so stay in the past" Max hisses

"I'm going to kill this motherfucker" Kai says before trying to swing at Max. Max dodges his hit and punches Kai, he aims for the face but only manages to hit his arm.

"Stop it!" I tell them

They don't stop. Kai pins Max down onto the floor and punches him in the face repeatedly

"Stop it your hurting him" I shout. Kai still doesn't stop. Max manages to flip him off of him for a few moments before Kai gets on top of him again and starts punching him over and over again in the same spot. Both me and Rachel are trying to pull Kai off of Max and shouting at him to stop it.

"Stop it your hurting him!" I shout, tears spring into my eyes and start to roll down my face

"STOP!" I scream! Suddenly Ollie comes running out of the living room

"Mommy?" He asks, his face stained with tears

"I'm okay baby, come on let's go back to the living room" she says picking him up and covering his eyes with her hand.

I finally manage to get Kai off of Max. I push him so hard with all my strength and he stumbles back into the wall. "GET. OUT" I scream at him

"No!" He shouts back

"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE KAI OR SO HELP ME GOD" I scream

"What are you going to do huh?" He asks

"I'll tell the police your location" I threaten, He glares at me angrily

"I dare you!" He grits out "Ellie I swear I'll ruin you, don't you dare ever threaten me like that again little girl!" He says angrily

"Get out then!" I shout

"Next time I see you Max your dead! Stay away from my girl" Kai shouts before storming out of my house. I rush over to Max and help him up.

"I told you to stay out of it!" I tell him angrily

"I.. wasn't going to... let hi-him.. talk to you.. lik.e..that" he says, his face was completely covered in blood, his nose is swollen, his lip busted and both his eyes black and blue. I take him into the kitchen and help him onto the counter

"I know how to handle Kai, it wouldn't have been as bad if you just kept your mouth shut" I say a bit bitterly at him

"I'm sorry" he says

"Sorry isn't going to fix your face Max, your going to be in pain because you didn't listen to me that's why I'm angry. I don't want you to be hurt because of my Ex" I tell him

"Hey don't... bl.ame yourself, I was... the one.. who didn't listen..t-to you. You and Rachel both wa.warned me butt I didn't listen" he says his tone is full of pain. I feel really bad, maybe if I had told Kai that I had a boyfriend all this could have been avoided.

"Just try not to talk, I don't want you in even more pain. Also I'm going to clean your wounds so this might sting a little" I tell him while taking out my first aid kit from the cupboard underneath the sink.

Once I'm finished cleaning up the blood from his face and cleaning out the wounds I get him a glass of water and some pain killers and then tell him to go lay down in my room for a while. Once he leaves I head back into the living room to see Rachel on the sofa with a sleeping Ollie resting his tear stained face on her knee.

"Rachel I'm so sorry" I tell her, tears threatening to fall from my eyes again

"It's not your fault, I should have warned you that Kai was coming over" she says

"I didn't want things to get this bad, I thought I could move on and be happy but Kai is never going to allow it and I can't have him hurting people I love" I say taking a seat beside her

"What are you trying to say?" Rachel asks, her face shows a lot of emotions. She looks worried, sad, tired, angry, but most importantly she looks concerned.

"I think it would be best if I... If I break up with Max" I tell her, I couldn't stop the tear that slipped out of my eye, followed by another and then another until I was crying. All those emotions on her face were away and the only ones I could make out now were anger and shock.

"What so your going to let Kai control you and who you date?" She asks in disbelief

"I don't have any other options if I want to keep Max safe, even if I break up with him I'm not 100% sure that Kai will leave him alone" I say

"I see where your coming from Ellie but you can't let him win" She tells me

"What other choice do I have?"

She doesn't say anything, she knows I'm right.

"Exactly, this would be for the best. And hopefully it would keep Max safe"

"That's not your job" a new voice cuts into the conversation. Max. I turn around and see him standing at the door with tears running down his face.

"Max.." I start but couldn't form any other words than his name

"It's not your job to keep me safe" He says, I can tell the pain killers have kicked in a little but you can still hear the pain in his voice.

"I don't want you getting hurt because of me" I tell him

"So your just going to break up with me and do what your Ex tells you to" He asks, I can no longer hear the pain in his voice by the anger and hurt is very much clear

"Max I'm sorry but this is for the best" I tell him

"Please don't do this" he whispers, I give him a hug

"I just want you to be safe... I'm sorry" I whisper back, more tears spilling out of my eyes

"Please Ellie, we can sort this out"

"You don't get it, Kai's not someone to mess with Max and nothing will go right for the both of us if we don't do as he says"

"I love you Ellie, please... don't leave me"

"I love you to Max and that's why I have to do this, I won't have you getting hurt.. I'm sorry but I'm breaking up with you"

Woah I never thought I'd write 60 chapters, and that people would actually read it. A few weeks ago I couldn't wait to end this book because I felt like the chapters were boring but now I don't want it to end.
