Bonus Chapter 3

Falling for my Husband

1 year before epilogue

ARJUN'S POV

My gaze wandered from the chocolaty mess on the floor to the sneaky culprit sitting beside it, hands hiding behind her back as if I couldn't see the large smudge of chocolate on her cheek.

"What did I tell you about stealing chocolates, huh?" I crossed arms over my chest sternly.

Her wide, brown eyes looked up at me innocently with a slight pout on her lips and it took everything in me to not melt and just let her steal all the damn chocolates in the world.

I sighed, kneeling down to her level. Brushing a few unruly strands of hair from her face, I took the half-eaten bar from her hands. "We talked about it. Stealing is a bad habit. Those weren't your chocolates."

"But," She whined, "I was hungry."

"Princess..." I trailed off, giving her a stern stare.

"Okay, fine." Kiara slumped her shoulders and looked away guiltily. "I won't do that again."

"That was my choc!" Anvi stomped her foot angrily from beside me. "Momma bad!"

Kiara winced and glanced at me for help. I raised my hands in surrender, smirking lightly. There was no way in hell I was going to interfere between two chocolate lovers. Plus, she was the one who went ahead and ate from Anvi's stash.

Chocolates in our home were strictly divided into three supplies. One for Anvi, one for Kiara and a secret stash that I usually stocked for emergencies.

Emergencies like today.

"Sorry, baby." Kiara cooed, extending a hand towards Anvi. Anvi glared at it for a whole five seconds and then kept her hand on Kiara's rather unwillingly. Kiara grinned and pulled her in her lap.

"I promise I won't do that again." Pressing a soft kiss on Anvi's forehead, Kiara laid her cheek on her head. "But you know momma is hungry all the time. The baby wants food to grow." Kiara cradled her baby bump.

Anvi stared at the bump excitedly and clapped her hands together. "When will the baby come?"

"Very soon." I sat beside Kiara. "And then you can play with your little brother or sister."

Both Kiara and Anvi smiled at that and something tugged at my chest.

I would have never imagined that I would get so lucky to have someone like Kiara in my life. Someone who grounded me. Someone who was my complete opposite and insanely crazy but someone who completed me.

And when I thought my life couldn't get any better, Anvi was born.

God, I was one lucky son of a bitch.

"But," Anvi's lower lip trembled. "My choc!"

Sometimes I think my girls love chocolates more than they love me.

"How about you go and see if Ritu aunty has some more chocs for you?" I leaned forward and tapped her nose, watching her face brighten at my words.

"Okay!" she stood up eagerly and ran to the kitchen.

"Be careful." Kiara called out after her and I turned to face her. Her face broke in a sheepish smile as I raised a brow.

Rolling my eyes, I cupped her cheek. "Honestly, you still eat like a kid. There's chocolate all over your face."

"I told you I was really hungry and the chocolate was very tasty so I couldn't wait and- "

I kissed her, effectively cutting her rambling off. My wife might be a chatterbox but I had come up with many creative ways to shut her up over the years. They always left her blushing like the first time we kissed but I wasn't complaining. Not at all.

And neither was she.

Wrapping an arm around her waist, I pulled Kiara closer, being extremely careful with her baby bump. She rested her hands on my chest and crumpled my shirt in her fists.

I love when she does that.

I could taste the chocolate on her lips. Kiara was right. It was really delicious. Yet her lips were still my favorite thing to taste.

Well, except a certain... other part.

Her cheeks were flushed red when I pulled back, smirking at her dazed state.

"Would you look at that? You are blushing again."

She slapped my chest lightly. "Stop teasing me."

I chuckled and she hid her face in my shoulder.

"You okay, princess?" I rubbed her back and she sighed softly.

Snuggling closer to me, she hummed in affirmation.

"I just feel a little tired." Kiara said and then glared at me. "Which is your fault, by the way."

I frowned. "What did I do?"

"This." She pointed at her stomach and I rolled my eyes.

Not again.

"If I remember correctly, it was you who pulled me in that hotel room during the success party." I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Because you were wearing that tux. How can you expect me to keep it in my pants when you looked like the human version of dark chocolate?" She exclaimed and then shook her head. "You could have at least used protection."

I looked at her incredulously. "I was going to but you were so impatient you almost ripped my shirt off! I had to walk with a half-open shirt for the rest of the function because you popped three of my shirt buttons. I looked like a sad, drunkard whose wife left him, for fuck's sake."

She scoffed. "As if you haven't ripped off any of my clothes off."

"Well, I buy you new ones, don't I?"

Her mouth dropped open. "That's not the point. Remember when Anushka gifted me that dress and I had to explain her why I couldn't wear it the next day because when I tried it for you, you- oh fu-."

I pressed my lips just below her ear, stunning her into silence once again. She sucked in a sharp breath as I peppered kisses along the length of her neck.

Her eyes fluttered close, her breaths coming out labored and my lips pulled in a smile. "You were saying something?" I hummed against her skin.

"I-" Kiara breathed. "The dress- you...rough..scattered...um- What?"

I stifled a chuckle at her disoriented words.

"Arjun!" She whined.

"Yes, princess?"

She turned her head turned towards me. "Please."

I cocked my head, amused. "Please what?"

She glared at me. "I hate you."

I leaned closer. "I think you love me."

"I wonder why."

"Let me see." I pretended to think. "Do you want me to list the reasons in alphabetical order or-"

"Shut up and just kiss me, you narcissistic devil."

I laughed softly. "As you wish, Mrs. Singhania."

Her arms wound around my neck as I pressed my lips against hers once again. She shivered in my arms and I cupped her cheek, wrapping my other arm around her so that she could lean on me.

Before I could take things any further, a loud shriek broke us apart quite abruptly.

"NOOO!"

My head snapped to my right, only to find Anvi standing at the doorframe with tears in her eyes as she looked at us horrified.

"Daddy no! Please don't eat mommy."

What?

I stared at her gobsmacked. "Anvi, I wasn't-" Where did eating come from?

"Honey, what are you talking about?" Kiara asked, disbelief dripping from her tone.

Anvi walked towards us slowly, sniffling. "Daddy was going to eat you. Like the zombie we saw on TV."

The what now?

Kiara's eyes widened. "Baby, no. Daddy wasn't gonna eat me. He-"

"Daddy, are you- are you a zombie?" Anvi looked on the verge of crying.

Am I a what?

"No, no. Why would you think that?"

"Then why were you trying to eat mommy? Do you wanna make her a zombie too?"

"Daddy wasn't- He wasn't gonna eat me. He was only trying to..." Kiara trailed off and her eyes wandered to me as if asking What the fuck do I say?

I responded with my own I have no fucking idea look.

None of the parenting books I've read had prepared me for this.

"Anvi, did you find any chocs?" I immediately changed the topic.

Her face brightened for a moment and then turned dull as she pouted. "No. There's no choc left."

I held her tiny hand and pulled her closer. "Do you wanna go and buy some chocs with me?"

She grinned. "Okay!"

I mentally sighed in relief. Not my best but still a good save.

If I come to think about it, it was loads better than whatever explanation was cooking in Kiara's mind.

"Great." I picked Anvi in my arms. She laid her head on my chest and my heart melted in a puddle.

Kiara smiled at us while I mouthed, "No more zombie movies for you two."

*

"Kiara?" I called out loudly, moving around my closet with a tie in one hand.

"Coming!" She answered.

"Slowly!" I chided when she rushed inside the very next second. She gave me a sheepish smile and took the tie from me, looping it around my neck.

"I was thinking of visiting my parents today."

"Are you taking a car with you?" Noticing a speck of dirt in her hair, I brushed it away while she worked on my tie.

"Uh-huh." She nodded with furrowed brows, all her concentration focussed on a task as simple as that. She looked so adorable with that tiny frown on her face, it made me want to kiss her senseless.

I'm never gonna get enough of her.

"And I'm going shopping after that." She said after she was done.

"Okay."

"There." She straightened the lapels of my suit and smiled cutely. "All done."

She's going to be the death of me someday.

I pecked her lips, unable to control myself and we walked out of the closet.

"Daddy!"

My lips pulled in a soft smile when I saw Anvi running towards me. As soon as she came near me, I picked her up.

"There's my little princess!" I tickled her and she laughed loudly.

"I'm going to visit granny today." She told me excitedly.

"Is that so?"

She leaned towards me and whispered secretly. "Grandpa will give me lots of chocs."

"Make sure you hide them from mommy." I whispered back and she giggled again.

"Are you guys done conspiring against me?" Kiara deadpanned, folding arms over her chest.

I looked back at Anvi and pressed a finger to my lips. "Shh."

Giggling softly, she clamped a hand over her mouth and nodded eagerly.

"Okay, now dad has to go to work and he'll meet you in the evening. Be a good girl till then." I kissed her cheek and gave her to Kiara.

"Bye, dad." She waved at me and I smiled.

"Bye, Mr. Singhania." Kiara smiled coyly and I tilted my head, my face smug.

Kissing her swiftly so that our little princess wouldn't be traumatized again, I murmured in Kiara's ear. "I'll see you tonight, Mrs. Singhania."

She laughed at that and I winked at her, walking away.

*

"No, I don't think that would work." I explained. "We're supposed to complete the project in three months. Your approach-"

"Sir!" Peyush burst in the meeting room with a panicked look on his face.

"What is it?" I asked him.

"Kiara ma'am is here. She asked for you."

That was enough for me to jump into action.

"Meeting adjourned." I closed the file harshly and rushed out of the meeting room.

Kiara never interrupts my work unless it's something important.

"Where is she?" I asked Peyush hurriedly.

"In your cabin, sir."

I slammed my cabin door open and there she was, trying to console a crying Anvi.

"What happened?" I walked upto her in quick strides.

"I-" She tried to speak but Anvi was constantly wailing.

"Here, let me." I took Anvi from her and she sat down on the couch, sighing heavily.

"It's okay, baby. Dad's here." Resting Anvi's head on my shoulder, I patted her back and swayed softly, trying to calm her down. I kept stealing worried glances at Kiara as she hid her face behind her hands. I wanted to ask her what happened but I had to make sure they were okay first. A few minutes passed with me walking around in the cabin with Anvi in my arms and she eventually fell asleep. I gently laid her on the big couch and walked back to Kiara.

She looked up as I sat beside her.

"You okay, princess?" I tucked a lock of hair behind her hair, looking at her distressed face.

KIARA'S POV

I took in a deep breath.

Arjun was going to flip off. Badly.

"Yeah, I'm fine but.." I rubbed my face. "We were at the shopping mall."

.

.

.

"Momma, I want that." I looked at the direction in which Anvi was pointing.

"Ooh, a balloon." We walked towards the man selling the balloons hand-in-hand as I asked Anvi. "Which colour?"

She tapped her chin and thought about the tough decision for a whole ten seconds.

"Black."

I chuckled. "Baby, he doesn't have a black balloon."

She pouted. "Then I want a blue one."

"Okay." I asked for a blue balloon from the man and that's when I heard the shout.

"MRS. KIARA SINGHANIA!"

I looked at my right to find a bunch of cameramen rushing toward us.

Fuck.

What the hell were the paparazzi doing here?

The one day I'm out with Anvi all alone and these crazy people find us.

"MRS. SINGHANIA. HERE."

"MRS. SINGHANIA!"

"Momma?" Anvi's scared voice snapped me out of my trance. She glanced at me with a scared look on her face.

Cursing under my breath, I quickly picked her up and gently hid her face in my shoulder as the cameras flashed around us. I tried to walk away from them but they had already surrounded me.

"Mrs. Singhania, how's little Anvi doing?"

"Mrs. Singhania, can we have a minute?"

"Mrs. Singhania, is that true you're pregnant again?"

No, I just like to walk around with a watermelon tied to my waist, bitch.

I heard Anvi's scared whimper and held her tighter. "Guys, if you can please give me some space? Anvi is a little scared. Please."

Our car was parked nearby but only if these morons would let me walk.

"Please maintain some distance." I tried once again but those assholes didn't listen and kept closing in. It got so crowded that I didn't know what was happening around me, the flashes beginning to hurt my eyes. Someone pushed me from my left side and I almost lost my footing. A startled squeak escaped me as I tightened my hold on Anvi. She started crying and I grew more panicked. I felt like I was going to fall down anytime.

Oh god. How was I going to get out here?

.

.

.

Thankfully, the driver had come searching for us at the same time and immediately helped us out of there. I asked him to take us straight to Arjun's office. Anvi wouldn't stop crying and I was too shaken up to handle everything alone.

After I told Arjun the whole story, I glanced at him and as expected, he was seething with anger. He stood up abruptly, clenching and unclenching his fists.

"PEYUSH!" He roared and I couldn't help but flinch at his murderous tone.

My eyes shifted to Anvi but thankfully she was a heavy sleeper and didn't even stir at Arjun's loud voice.

"Arjun..." I spoke slowly, standing up and he turned towards me.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" His hands frantically checked my arms for any injuries and I winced when he touched my elbow.

His eyes snapped to me as he carefully turned my hand. There was a big red scratch on my elbow. I must have gotten that during the whole mess.

Arjun clenched his jaw. "Did someone lay a hand on you?" His voice was deathly calm.

I shook my head helplessly. "I don't remember. Everything happened in an instant."

"I'm gonna fucking rip them apart." He gritted his teeth, the vein on his forehead shining prominently.

Oh lord.

Arjun only got this scary when it concerned me and Anvi.

"Is Anvi hurt?" He casted a worried glance towards her, his posture rigid. I knew he was trying to keep his anger in check for our sake.

"No, she is fine. She was just scared."

He gave a stiff nod and his eyes darted back to me, concern shining in them. "Do you need to go to a doctor? Are you sure you're okay?"

"I promise I'm fine. We both are." I kept a hand on his arm. "Please relax for a moment."

Raking a frustrated hand through his hair, he cursed under his breath. "I'm gonna kill those bastards."

Before his mood could get any worse, Peyush appeared in time. "Yes, sir?"

Thank god for that cause my husband really looked ready to kill.

"Contact all the press companies. Get the name of every single reporter who was at the DLF mall half an hour ago. I want all of them here in an hour."

Ooh mama...

Not the time, Kia!

Arjun placed his hands on his desk and leaned forward, his expressions ruthless. "Sue all of them and make sure those fuckers don't get a job anywhere."

"Okay, sir."

"They wanna know what's going on in my life? Fine. I'll have a personal chat with them." His eyes slid to me, softening a considerable amount. "And while you're at it, ask someone to bring in a first-aid kit."

Peyush nodded and left as soon as possible.

I blew an exasperated breath and looked at Arjun. His posture was extremely tensed.

"Hey." I walked upto him and he faced me, his face set in a deep frown.

Snaking my arms around his back, I hugged him and rested my head on his chest. He let out a heavy breath and tentatively put his hands around me, being careful not to hurt me. I loved how gentle he was with me and Anvi even when he was furious.

"I know you look extremely hot when you're angry but please calm down." I muttered jokingly.

"And you know I hate it if something happens to you two."

"But we're okay." I leaned on my tip-toes to kiss his cheek.

I don't know what he would've done if either of us had actually gotten hurt.

He kissed my forehead. "You will not go out without a bodyguard from now. That's final. I'm not gonna risk your safety again."

I thought about it for a moment. "Okay. I guess it's for the best."

He looked a little relaxed after that and I internally wept in relief.

"I'm hungry." I mumbled after a few moments.

"Of course you are." Arjun laughed softly. "Let me guess. You want a chocolate cake?"

"Uh-huh." I nodded.

"My wife is cheating on me with a chocolate." He muttered to himself and then pulled back. "Come on. I'll buy you your damned cake. Only cause I love you."

"Only cause you love me." I replied with a smile and hugged him tighter.

And there you go. So, how did you like the update?
