Chapter 43. Ari, you can't leave me.

The Forced Marriage With The Werewolf Prince [Completed]

Daniel's POV

Kiana's streams of swears and screams echoed through the hallway as the doctor started the transplant surgery.

I felt bad but I don't regret my decision. Am I a bad person for doing this? Should I have just let her live? But how could I after the things I had got to know about her. She didn't just take Duncan's life, tried to kill Carla and hurt Ari, she had hurt and killed dozens of people. If Anthony ever knew that his first love was corrupted and had to be killed, just because of Kiana, would he still be okay with it?

Ginivieve.

There was a point in my life where I had fallen for her at first sight but the second time I saw her, she was no longer the same bubbly and caring girl I first met. Instead, she had turned into a sinister black witch. She wasn't always a black witch. She was a white witch, pure at heart. But she chose darkness. To think Kiana was the one who forced her into that darkness boils the blood in me. Afterall, Ginivieve was my very first mate. The mate who I had let Claire kill with my approval.

That day, I felt horrible but I knew I had to choose the right option. Claire had said me that she could stop and let Ginivieve free if it hurts me to see her die but if I let Ginivieve free, there was no saying she wouldn't kill all of us--the royals. So, even if it hurt like hell, I let Claire kill Ginivieve.

If Kiana wouldn't have forced Ginivieve into that dark path. If Ginivieve wouldn't have gotten so consumed with that darkness. Would it be any different?

Kiana must've ruined many of the white witch's life by threatening them to choose black magic instead of natural magic. I came to know that Kiana with a few others used to kidnap their family members and force the witches to make use of black magic if they wanted their family members back.

Black magic is like an addiction. Once you make use of it, you'll be tempted to use it again and again until you're consumed with it. Black magic is usually more powerful as it uses the energy of the dead while white magic is completely based on nature and is likely to be lesser effective unlike Claire's magic.

Claire is the most powerful witch existing and so was her mother before she died. Her white magic is very powerful and she can easily fight tons on black witches which she had did by the way.

Back to the topic, Kiana had also done one more horrible thing which included Ari. . .

Ari doesn't know this, but the real reason her father was so abusive to her and her mother, the real reason Ari never got her father's love and had to lose her mother, was because of Kiana.

Kiana didn't only cheat me with Duncan. She had done it far many times. Despite knowing that Ari's father was married, she did an affair with him since he was a rich man. She then told him to leave his wife and child behind and marry her instead. When Kiana came to know that Ari's father, Payton's, entire money was because of his wife's wealth, she devised a plan. Payton, on Kiana's influence, tortured his wife to the point where she decided to commit suicide and all her wealth automatically went to him.

When Payton got his wife to commit suicide, got the wealth and did everything as she said, Kiana left him hanging as she found me--a more rich man to hold-- at that time. Payton got angry on losing his favourite mistress and took all his anger out on Ari--mentally and physically abusing her for years.

Every time I brought up her past, there was a kind of fear and sadness in those beautiful eyes of hers. I knew she wasn't prepared to go back that memory lane so I instead let Tom check on her past. And now I know why she has those nightmares once in a while. Why she was so quiet and complying when she just got married to me.

How did you bare everything alone, Ari?

These thoughts ran in my head as walked mindlessly towards my room where Ari was resting. I didn't look ahead, my mind occupied. Suddenly, I bumped into a person on my way.

"Watch your way, Bro." A voice said jokingly. The voice making me furrow my brows. That voice is of. . .

"Evan?" I asked quizzically looking up at the Vampire king standing in front of me in his full glory. He grinned in return to my confused state.

How is here? Wait...he isn't the only one...

"Claire and Jacob? Elina? Stephen? Olivia?" I called out all of their names as I spotted them all standing behind Evan with exception of their kids. Elina, Evan's wife and also my friend, was standing beside the vampire lord himself.

"Hey, Danny. How are you? We heard about Carla, so we came to meet. Ariel said Carla will be having some sort of surgery?" Elina asked before giving me hug.

Evan narrowed his eyes at me for a fleeting moment when she hugged me but that turned into a satisfied look when Elina pulled away from me, returned back to his side and gave him a peck on his cheek. A smile tugged on my lips as I mentally shook my head at this grown up vampire. Still possessive about his mate.

"Yeah. Kiana mixed wolvesbane and silver solution both in Carla's drink. She has half royal blood unlike us so she isn't immune to them like me and Ariel. But we found her on time and everything is sort out now, she'll be fine after the surgery." I didn't go in detail about the 'organ melting' thing considering it was sorted out now anyways. Why make them worry over nothing?

"Kiana, that bitch! The heck she did?" Claire, my one and only best friend, like her usual loud obnoxious self, moved ahead and bombarded me with her annoying self, "She poisoned Carla's drink? And what the heck were you doing at that time, you dumb ass? Couldn't you even take care of your sister? I knew that Kiana was good for nothing! Never liked her anyways. You should have just kicked her ass out of the castle! You're the stupidest brother I've ever seen."

Is that supposed to make me feel better?

'Of course, not. You dumb ass.' Carlos butted in, mimicking Claire's voice and I felt like ages since I last heard from my annoying wolf.

'Hey, I'm not annoying--'

I shut him off. It was better of me not hearing his voice often-

"Hey, what are you doing?" I pull my hands away as Claire tries to hold them. She glares at me and pulls my hand back, holding them in a tight grasp as her eyes start lighting blue. Does she ever gets tired of this? Looking into people's goddamn mind.

"Kiana, the cunnivying Bitch! You did exactly the right thing, Danny. She should just die." Claire deadpaned  while all the others looked at me with narrowed eyes. Did I do something wrong?

"You didn't say us Kiana was staying here," Evan stated accusingly and felt like hitting Claire on her head. That big mouth of hers keeps spewing everything.

"Actually...um...you know what?" I push Claire in front of them, "Since Claire here, jogged my memories, she'll tell you everything in detail. Okay, bye. I gotta go check on my wife."

With that, I left Claire in the precarious positing and rushed over to my room. Thankfully, none of them tried to stop me as they were all focused on Claire who sent daggers my way to which I grinned as if I've won a tournament.

The moment I stepped inside my room, I saw Ari seated in front of the bonfire with her back facing me.

A smile automatically tugs onto my lips at the sight of her. I take slow and silent steps until I'm behind her. Bringing my arms around her frame, I hug her from behind.

"What's my love doing?" I sang merrily kissing her cheek and saw a smile pull up on her lips.

Ari turns around and her smile widens looking at me but there's something in her eyes which doesn't seem right. . .

Tucking a stray strand of her chestnut locks behind her ear, I cup her cheek with my palms. Inching my face closer to hers, I ask in a gentle voice "What's wrong, sweetheart?"

The moment I say those words, her eyes wells up and she hugs me suddenly. I hug her back despite feeling something is wrong.

"Ari?"

"Daniel, do you know you're the best thing that has ever happened to me?" She murmurs next to my ears which makes a huge grin spread on my lips. I'm about to say the same to her when she continues,

"My entire life, I never believed in love. My dad ruined all my hopes for love. I thought I would be stuck with dad for eternity. I wished for a mate but I never thought my mate would just show up one day and take me to his pack. Anthony wasn't any ideal mate but I was content that I didn't get my dad's slaps everyday. But then you came like an angel into my life. Honestly, in the beginning, I thought you were the most arrogant and rude person I've ever met. And you were very annoying," She mumbled, snuggling closer to me.

I wrapped my hands firmly around her not saying anything since I know she has more to say.

"But... then I came to know that you weren't really that annoying instead you weren't annoying at all. The more I got to know you, the more I liked the person you were. The more I started enjoying myself around. The more I started falling for you. You kept hating yourself for being a hybrid but let me tell you one thing, Danny. You're a wonderful person, Daniel Rodriguez. What you are doesn't make you any less from others instead it is what makes you, you.

A person who can risk his life to save someone else's, who became a hybrid saving others, isn't he truly amazing? You think you're an abomination because you're hybrid but you know what I believe? I believe that you're blessed to have this power of being both a vampire and a werewolf which you gained because of your kind heart. You're unique. So, treasure it, Danny,"

My heart warmed at her words. No words have ever made me feel so good about being a hybrid. Ari can even make me feel my biggest fault seem like a blessing. I don't know what I've did to have her in my life. I freaking love her so much.

"Youre everythjng to me, Daniel. Falling in love with you was the best moment of my life and I'll never forget it," Ari said whilst sniffing slowly. She's crying?

I pulled back from our embrace and cupped her tear-strained face, "Why--"

Before I could say anything, she kissed me--her soft lips moving against mine. I pulled her closer, kissing her back with equal fervor.

We pulled back when we were both out of breath, and rested my forhead against hers. She cupped my cheeks and stared at me straight in the eyes, "I love you, Daniel."

"I love you more, Ari." I stared back into her turquoise eyes.

A sad smile stretched on her lips as she said, "And Goodbye."

The next moment I know, Ari's eyes closed shut and her body fell slack in my arms. Her entire body was cold and numb. I couldn't hear her heartbeat either. . .

A tear ran down my eyes followed by another and then another as I hugged her body close to me.

No. No. No.

This is not happening.

Ari, you can't leave me.
