Chapter 119

Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Chapter 119 Chapter 119 Upon hearing Ava’s words, everyone fell silent for a moment. Grace’s view that friends should constantly give without expecting anything in return shocked everyone.

Students started staring at Grace. She lowered her head even more, clenching her fists tighter. Inside, she felt a deep anger towards Elysia and disliked everyone around her.

With determination, she stormed out without looking back–she just wanted to get away from that place as fast as she could.

The woman watched Grace leave and said, “What a disgrace.” Then, she quickly tossed other books into a cardboard box and marched towards the exit of the classroom.

“Does this mean Grace has dropped out?” asked one student.

“Of course, she took her textbooks with her. Why did she have to make it this drastic? The school wouldn’t have taken away her special privileges otherwise,” replied another student.

“Honestly, considering her family’s situation, without those privileges, she can barely afford the school fees. So, it’s no surprise she’d leave,” someone added.

“And even if she could afford it, can you imagine her Mom letting her stay? Not a chance.” a boy said, crossing his arms with a smug look.

The others quietly agreed. If they hadn’t seen the way Grace’s Mom was, they might have doubted it. But after witnessing it firsthand, it was hard to think otherwise.

Today was the second monthly exam at Milton School, and the incident with Grace had taken up a lot of time.

With the next exam still a while away, the students knew they could not waste time. They had been working hard to do well on this one.

Everyone returned to their seats, digging out their textbooks from their bags and refreshing their memories on what they had been learning.

Ava was deeply focused on her book, while Elysia rested her chin on her hand, watching everything unfold around her, seeming relaxed amid the busyness of the classroom.

“Elysia, aren’t you going to study?” Ava asked, then realized, “Right, you’re a genius; studying is something only average students like us do.”

“Believe in yourself. If you’ve prepared well, the exam should be no trouble,” Elysia replied calmly.

“I get that, but Elysia, I still feel so nervous,” Ava admitted.

Elysia smiled gently and patted Ava on the head. “You’ll be just fine.”

“Really?” Ava looked up at Elysia, her eyes glistening.

“Absolutely.”

Ava nodded, and then she seemed to remember something. “Elysia, do you think Grace’s situation could be seen as cause and effect?”

Elysia raised an eyebrow, surprised. ‘Hasn’t Ava just been worrying about the exam? It is impressive how quickly her 1/3 15:58 Thu, 13 Feb Chapter 119 thoughts have shifted to Grace.

“Elysia, why are you quiet?” Ava asked again.

Elysia, with her perfectly shaped brow raised, replied, “Focus on your studies. Why should you care about Grace?”

“Oh.” Ava bowed her head again, going back to her reading.

Elysia chuckled to herself. ‘Cause and effect? It truly is. If Grace hasn’t felt jealous and switched the art drafts between herself and Ava, she wouldn’t be in this mess today. All of this was due to Grace’s own mistakes!

With thirty minutes left before the exam, the invigilator walked into the classroom with a sealed envelope. “Everyone, please put away your textbooks; no exam–related materials should be on your desks. Any violations will be treated as cheating The invigilator, wearing metallic–framed glasses, scanned the room with a sharp gaze. The students put their books away, took their bags to the door, and returned to their desks.

The group silently motivated themselves. ‘Why does everyone suddenly feel so tense? Will a poor performance get Class 6 shut down? Absolutely not. We have to give our all, even if it means exerting every last bit of energy.

Ten minutes before the exam, the invigilator began to hand out the test papers. The first subject was Language and Composition.

After filling in their information, they quickly skimmed the questions. It wasn’t until the bell rang that they picked up their pens and started writing.

Faced with tough questions, they tugged at their hair in frustration, their faces grim. But when they came across questions they recognized, excitement lit up their faces as they eagerly wrote down their answers, feeling a rush of accomplishment.

During the exam, Elysia remained calm and collected, showing no signs of stress. Ava, glancing at her, felt her anxiety spike.

‘Such a genius. Elysia answers questions effortlessly: Ava lightly bit the tip of her pen, feeling envy wash over her.

Just then, Elysia set down her pen without finishing her essay. The invigilator noticed Ava and gently tapped on the desk, saying, “Focus on your own work and avoid distractions.”

When Ava heard this, she quickly turned away from Elysia and focused back on her test.

Once she finished her exam, Elysia rested her head on the desk and took a nap, having learned from her past experience not to rush to hand in her paper.

Once outside the exam room, she couldn’t leave the building anyway. Better to take a nice nap at her desk instead.

Justin, finishing early yet again, had hoped to see Elysia in the break area. But to his disappointment, she didn’t show up until the exam was over. A wave of disappointment washed over him.

As he thought, he reasoned that since she hadn’t written an essay last time, maybe this time she was just taking her time on her composition. That thought made him feel a bit better.

If Elysia had written the essay, she would definitely outshine him again. There was no denying it; Elysia always exceeded his expectations.

When the bell rang, everyone stood up. Elysia stretched lazily, relaxing her body. The invigilator collected the test papers and, after counting them, left the classroom. Just as Elysia settled back into her seat, a crowd of students surrounded her.

“Elysia, which answer did you pick for the first question?”

9/2 1558 Thu Chapter 119 “Elysia, what about the third question?”

“Elysia, is the answer to the fourth–to–last question A?

The noise from the students grew, overwhelming, Elysia and making her dizzy. She raised her hand to signal for silence. Seeing her gesture, the crowd quickly hushed.

Hearing classmates in the back whispering, those in front turned around and put a finger to their lips. “Shh. Let’s listen to what Elysia has to say.”
