Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Chapter 122 Chapter 122 57%

Upon hearing the words, everyone looked at Bianca. Her expression turned serious, and after a moment, she focused on the waiter and said, “I’ll take care of it.”

The waiter replied, “Alright. Your total comes to one thousand. Will that be cash or card?”

Bianca paused; she definitely didn’t have that much in her card. Plus, she had no cash on her, leaving her in a tight spot.

“Cash or card?” the waiter asked again, noticing her silence.

“Please hold on.” Bianca said, turning to her friends. “Do any of you have a thousand in your card?”

At her question, they all quickly replied, “None.”

An awkward silence filled the air until her friends spoke up again. “Bianca, I only have two hundred left, and that’s my whole week’s allowance. Even that won’t cover this meal.”

“I only have one hundred left. If I give that to you, I won’t be able to get by for the next couple of days.”

“I only have one hundred too. Weren’t you the one who insisted on treating us? What’s going on now?”

The last girl’s words voiced the thoughts of the group; it had indeed been Bianca’s idea to have this meal, yet now she seemed to expect them to pay the bill.

The waiter smirked inside, thinking their situation was a bit sad–if they didn’t have the money, they shouldn’t have eaten here.

How foolish to try to look good when they clearly couldn’t afford it. Just look at them, avoiding the bill like it was contagious.

Bianca glared at her friends, her eyes growing colder. They had ordered the dishes, and they were the ones who had eaten the most. She merely asked if they had extra money, and now they were scrambling for excuses. How ridiculous.

Seeing the chill in her gaze, they tried to negotiate, “Bianca, you know our families aren’t rich.”

“Exactly. You can’t go back on your word.”

As the short–haired girl tried to continue, Bianca raised her hand to silence her. “I will pay for this meal, even if my card hasn’t been topped up and may not be enough. I’ll borrow from you all and pay you back later.”

Silence fell over the group, prompting Bianca to add, “I didn’t order these dishes, nor did I eat the most. Are you doubting that I won’t pay you back?”

Quickly, the short–haired girl said, “Of course not. I’ll lend you.” Without hesitation, she took out her card.

The others, seeing her act, quickly followed suit, showing their cards too. Bianca then handed her card to the waiter, saying, “Charge it to this card; if it’s not enough, use the rest as needed.”

The waiter nodded and began swiping cards, while Elysia and her friends, who had finished their meal, happened to walk by.

Elysia felt her cheeks heat up as she glanced at the ever–cool Justin. ‘What an embarrassing position this is!”

Alice linked arms with Elysia, and as they passed Bianca’s table, leaned in and whispered, “Elysia, they look kind of sad. A bunch of cards for payment? Is the food here really that expensive?” Alice was confused.

Ava rolled her eyes. “Do you really think everyone has your money situation as a rich girl?” It was Alice who had paid for 1/3 1559 Thu, 13 Feb Chapter 122 their earlier meal–two thousand without breaking a sweat.

“Elysia, Ava is so angry.” Alice pouted.

Elysia couldn’t help but smile. In that respect, I see Ava’s point; not everyone has a wealthy uncle like you do.”

*Really?”

“Absolutely.”

“Elysia, I’ve just thought of a way you could get rich like me. Want to hear it?”

Elysia raised an eyebrow, questioning why she would want wealth when she was already quite wealthy.

Ava seemed curious. “What’s the plan? Tell me. Maybe it could make me as wealthy as you.”

Alice shook her head. “You might want to reconsider that.”

When Ava heard her words, her smile faded. “Are you saying I’m not good enough?”

“I never said that; it’s just that my uncle wouldn’t be interested in you.”

Ava sighed, looking defeated. “This embarrassment is really too much.”

Suddenly, Ava realized: ‘Is Alice suggesting she wants to introduce Elysia to her uncle? No, please. Alice is already quite grown–

how old could her uncle be? What if he turns out to be a middle–aged, balding man? That would be a disaster.

Ava said, “Alice, please don’t act foolishly; your uncle isn’t right for Elysia.”

“And why isn’t he right?” Alice shot back, indignant. “Sure, he may be older, but don’t adults say that with age comes wisdom in caring for others?”

Hearing Alice’s claims, Elysia covered Alice’s mouth. She wondered where Alice learned such ideas. Alice tried to speak, but Elysia shot her a glare. “Who taught you such phrases?” She finally let go of Alice’s mouth.

Alice said, “TV”

Elysia raised an eyebrow, surprised that such ideas could come from television. It reminded her of matchmakers who used to justify age gaps by saying, “Older men will take better care of you.”

Elysia thought, ‘What kind of shows is she watching? It is funny to hear that idea from a little girl.

Alice asked, “Elysia, why do you look at me like that?”

“Oh, it’s nothing.” Elysia turned to Ava and explained, “You’re familiar with her uncle.”

Ava frowned, confused. “Who?”

“You just met him a few days ago at Iskoria Villa.”

Ava’s eyes widened in realization. That man was none other than Zane. Seeing Ava’s shock, Alice asked, “You don’t know who my uncle is?”

“Wait. Let me think about this.” Ava was trying to grasp the surprising details.

Ava thought, “Zane is Alice’s uncle, Alice is Zane’s niece, and Zane likes Elysia. So, Elysia and Alice are basically families?‘

2/3 15:59 Thu, 13 Feb Chapter 122 “Is it really that shocking? My uncle was at the birthday party, and you were there too. How could you not know?” Alice added, looking down on Ava’s clear confusion.

57%

Ava replied, “Don’t bring up the birthday party; I hardly saw what your uncle looked like that day, let alone understood your connection.”

She added, “If Elysia is going to be your family, you have to treat me with a bit more respect since I’m her best friend.”

Alice said, “Let’s talk about it when Elysia actually becomes my family.”

Listening to their conversation, Elysia felt strange. It felt like these two were casually assigning her the identity of Zane’s future wife without even asking her.

Elysia raised her hand to stop their escalating chat. “Alright, you two have strayed off topic.”

Justin, overhearing their conversation, masked his expression with a look of detached neutrality. It seemed that no matter where he was, he always ended up feeling hurt.
