Chapter 228
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 228 Chapter 228 Upon hearing this, Alyceâs gaze sharpened, and her expression turned serious. âAre you suggesting that the driver intended to get rid of you, Elysia?â
Elysia replied, âItâs not just that. If Iâm right, thereâs likely a third party behind herâ
Alyce furrowed her brow and then lowered her head. âRest assured, Elysia, I will look into this thoroughly and make sure you stay safe.â
With that, she turned and left.
Elysia continued to stare at the tree, her mind replaying the image of the taxi driver.
The driver was dressed in a grey work jacket, a flat cap, and a mask that hid her face. She looked completely bundled up, although her oversized clothes didnât hide her slim figure. If Elysia was correct, the driver was probably a woman.
She wondered. âWhat could have driven her to act this way? Who was pulling the strings? Could this be connected to that incident from years ago?â
Elysiaâs eyes narrowed slightly as she realized that the person in question seemed to be getting impatient.
She thought, âAre they planning to make a move soon? When they do, the truth about their intentions will soon come to light. Let the chaos begin. This time, I will see it all the way through to the end!
The following morning, Elysia woke up from her sleep and lazily stretched her arms and legs. She chose a white dress from her wardrobe, and just as she finished getting dressed, a knock came at the door. âElysia, everything is ready, called Yuna from outside.
As soon as she heard that, Elysia swung the door open, allowing the sunlight to wash over her face, enhancing her delicate beauty.
She tilted her head back slightly, closed her eyes, and enjoyed the warm sunlight and the fresh smell of grass in the air. Her demeanor was relaxed and natural.
âOnce today is over, everything will come to a closeâ Opening her eyes, she met Yunaâs gaze. âLetâs go. Itâs time to see Scott.â
âAbsolutely, Elysia,â Yuna replied, stepping aside.
Elysia moved forward, with Yuna right behind her. As they left Arcanum House, Elysia picked up her pace, and Yuna opened the car door for her.
Once inside the car, they drove down the wide road. Elysia leaned back in her seat, her eyes drifting shut as her fingers tapped lightly in a relaxed rhythm.
âWhat will Scottâs reaction be when he sees me? The thought made her chuckle.
The car stopped at the prison gates; Elysia stepped out and crossed inside, while Yuna had already set up an independent visiting room through her connections.
The room looked just like an ordinary visiting area, except it didnât have soundproofing in the glass partition, so there was no need for a speaker system. Upon entering, Elysia saw Scott waiting for her.
With his hands shackled, a flicker of surprise crossed his face before he adopted a casual tone, âI never expected you to be the only one visiting me.â
He then scoffed, âI used to live a grand life, and who wouldâve thought Iâd end up here? Quite laughable, wouldnât you say?â

She said, âFrom the moment you brought me into the Rosewood familyâno, we should go back to the day you murdered your own child, swapped her for me, and left me in a desolate placeâyou should have seen this coming.â
Scottâs expression tightened, his fists clenched with agitation. âWhat exactly do you know?â
Anger filled his voice as his brow furrowed deeply.
Elysia noticed his discomfort, her smile widening as she straightened up. âWhat do you think I might know?â
âDid you always know your true identity?â
+5 âYes. Since I returned from Shecrity, I took a sample of your hair for DNA testing, so I have known for a while that I wasnât your biological child. Ironically, Emma, the adopted daughter, is closely tied to the mistress of this household.â
Scottâs veins bulged with rage as he glared at her, his teeth grinding together. âThen why didnât you tell anyone?â
Elysia chuckled softly, her disdain evident. âYou enjoy the drama, so I thought it only fitting to play my part until the end. A performance should be complete. If I had spilled everything from the getâgo, the unfolding drama would not be as entertaining.â
Scott scanned her carefully, his eyes narrowing. âHow did you become so cunning?â
âI still canât compare to you. You are beneath even the lowest of animals,â She emphasized that last part intentionally.
Scott intertwined his fingers, bowing his head as memories of his daughterâs demise washed over him, a sense of unease settling in.
But upon reflecting, that was his daughter, and he believed he had the right to make the decision about her life. In other words, her life had been a commodity, a measure of her worth.
Elysia said, âScott, you know the truth better than anyone. I suggest you reveal the identity of the person behind you.â
At her words, Scott looked up to meet Elysiaâs gaze, his eyes squinting. âYou donât know who that person is?â
âIf I knew, would I be asking you here?â
Hearing this, Scott leaned back with a chuckle. âSo, youâre completely in the dark. Why would I share anything with you? Isnât it ridiculous to even ask such questions?â
Elysia remained unfazed by his apparent amusement, regarding Scottâs playful expression with a slight smile. âYouâve always been smart; surely you donât need me to guide you in such simple matters.â
Eventually, Scottâs amusement faded, and leaning forward, he glared intently at Elysia. âWhat do you want from me?â
Elysia leaned in closer, lowering her voice. âExactly what you think. I managed to manipulate you before, and I can still do it.â
Scott hesitated, gripping his hands tightly as Elysia casually brushed her fingers against her right earlobe, saying nonchalantly, âShould I arrange for someone to keep an eye on you here in prison? Maybe even make your sentence longer?
âDonât forget, you carry the burden of a lifeâthough she was your daughter, taking her life brings legal consequences. Youâre a businessman; I trust you can figure out whatâs of greater importance.â
