Chapter 238

Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Chapter 238 Upon hearing this, Phoebe felt an immediate sense of urgency and rushed out of the courtyard.

As the woman absorbed Elysia’s words, a flicker of alarm crossed her eyes. Elysia was aware of the type of poison it was. The woman was perplexed by how Elysia knew this.

Elysia turned and caught the astonishment and panic etched on the woman’s face; her brows lifted in realization–her intuition had been correct.

After Fabian had been poisoned, Elysia had already formed her suspicions.

However, considering the seriousness of Fabian’s condition, she would not risk giving any remedy unlew the had complete certainty that he had indeed been afflicted by the Bone Corroding Powder.

Her earlier questioning of the woman had simply been an attempt to confirm her guess. Although the anticipated that the woman might hold back information, she was willing to take even a small chance.

This blade had originally been meant for her. Fabian had protected her from it.

Elysia looked at the woman on the ground with deep–seated hatred, as if her heart had been pierced by a blade, blood seeping drop by drop along the shaft.

For the first time, she experienced pain that went beyond physical injury, suffering a hundred times worse.

That was the Bone Corroding Powder. Though its poison didn’t lead to death immediately, it caused torment like a legion of ants gnawing at one’s bones.

Such agony was unbearable for most, and many would inevitably faint from its intensity. Yet Fabian endured.

‘What kind of unbreakable will must one have to achieve such strength? Recalling the slight smile Fabian had given her moments ago intensified Elysia’s heartache.

Clutching her chest, the intensity of her hatred grew palpable as she gripped the woman’s jaw with enough force to make it feel as if she might shatter her bones.

“You will certainly regret the choices you made this evening,” Elysia said coldly.

Startled by the fervor in her gaze, the woman felt a tremor of fear. As someone who had not feared death, the woman began to feel afraid of Elysia.

At that moment, Phoebe dashed in with a needle kit, barely pausing for breath before handing it to Elysia.

Relieved, Elysia took the kit and hurried to Fabian’s side. His complexion had darkened, beads of sweat trickling down his forehead, his face trembling with clear pain. But still, he was fighting to withstand it.

“If it hurts, shout out; it might help ease the pain,” she suggested.

Fabian shook his head. “It doesn’t hurt, Elysia, do not worry.”

These few words were almost forced through clenched teeth; despite the excruciating pain, he sought to protect her from worry.

Tears welled in Elysia’s eyes, splashing onto his hand. Feeling the warmth, Fabian managed a slight smile. “Do not cry; it doesn’t hurt.”

Standing by, Javier and Holden felt an indescribable mix of emotions. They had never expected that a simple stroll would lead to such disaster.

09:27 Mon, 10 Mar M Chapter 238 “Elysia, is there anything I can do to help?” Javier asked, urgency filling his voice.

He was Clusia’s great doctor, and seeing his beloved brother in such a state left him feeling utterly helpless. He wanted to do anything, no matter how small, if it could help.

Elysia understood his feelings, but at that moment, her focus was on the pressing need to administer the antidote.

Every second of delay could mean more pain for Fabian; as the poison seeped into his bones, reversing it would become even harder.

“This is a poison; you can’t fix it,” she said as she pulled out the longest needle from her bag, inserting it into Fabian. After a series of ten insertions, Elysia finally paused.

“Elysia, how is he?” Holden asked, weariness showing on his face.

“The poison is under control; for now, his life is not in danger.” With that, she took a bottle and drew a few drops of blood from the wound.

Just as she was about to tell Phoebe to get a box, she noticed one already placed at her feet.

Phoebe caught the direction of her gaze and explained, “I knew you would need it, so I got it for you.”

Elysia nodded in gratitude, opened the box, and took a pill, placing it into Fabian’s mouth. “This will ease your pain for now; I need to prepare the antidote, wait for me here.”

Fabian said, “Okay.”

Elysia turned to Javier. “Take care of him; if anything unusual happens, come find me immediately.”

Javier said, “Rest assured.”

“And what am I to do?” Holden asked.

“You will come with me.” Without delay, she stepped outside, and Holden hurried to follow.

Arriving at the wooden cottage, Elysia picked up a hoe from the ground and handed it to him, pointing to a pot of flowers. “Dig up the roots of this flower; be careful, they must not be damaged at all.”

Holden said, “Don’t worry, Elysia.”

“Once you get the roots, wash them well, dry them, and bring them inside.”

“Understood.”

Elysia nodded and turned to leave. She gathered various herbs from the shelf and ground them into a fine powder before taking a knife to slice open her palm.

To neutralize the Bone Corroding Powder, human blood was needed as a catalyst. But not just any blood would work; it had to come from a close female relative, or the antidote wouldn’t be effective.

If she were afflicted by the Bone Corroding Powder, the only person who could save her would probably be Quinita.

The poisoner appeared to have plotted that she could create an antidote, but would not be able to save herself; this scheme was designed to lead her to her demise.

If she truly fell victim to this poison, even with her strong abilities, without Quinita’s blood, her survival would be impossible.

Though waiting for Quinita’s arrival was one option, Elysia couldn’t survive that long.

02 Mon, 10 Mar Chapter 238 Moreover, it was clear that the culprit intended for her death and wouldn’t easily allow Quinita to arrive.

+13 What a clever trap. Yet, even the best plans can go wrong. No matter how intricately crafted, the culprit failed to consider the foolishness of the woman acting in front of so many witnesses.

Elysia didn’t believe that the woman was the culprit; she lacked the necessary cunning. At most, she was just a tool used by the culprit.

Elysia stared at the knife in her hand, and without hesitation, she cut her palm open. Blood flowed steadily from her hand into the glass.

When Holden entered, the glass already had a substantial amount of her blood. His brow furrowed deeply. “Elysia, what are you doing?”

“Creating an antidote catalyst,” she replied.

Holden’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Human blood?”

“Yes”

He looked at her bloodied palm, alarm overtaking his features. “You could use mine; there’s no need to hurt yourself.”

“It has to be a woman’s blood.”

Holden swallowed his protest, feeling, for the first time, an aversion to being male. ‘Why can’t I have been born a woman? Then Elysia wouldn’t have to injure herself.”
