Chapter 255

Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Chapter 255 484%劍 Upon hearing this, the members of the Evans family were momentarily taken aback, their eyes shifting from Ryan to Elysia. ‘Did she mean that it was Ryan who had switched the children? What exactly had happened?‘ they wondered.

They were confused, unable to understand what kind of grudge or resentment could cause Ryan to set up such a grand scheme.

Edward thought, “The disheveled young man who showed up at our doorstep years ago has planned to infiltrate our lives from the beginning? What is his motive?

‘If he intended to switch the babies, he has already done that; if he is looking to continue his evil plan, why has he stayed quiet all these years?‘

Edward’s brow furrowed deeply, and his expression darkened. The looks on the faces of the others in the Evans family reflected the same unease.

“What are you talking about? I don’t understand,” Ryan said.

Elysia smiled, a playful yet malicious glint in her eyes. “It’s okay that you don’t understand; let me explain it to you.”

She said, “During my mother’s labor, you snuck into the hospital three months in advance, pretending to be a nurse. If I’m not mistaken, your goal was to learn the hospital’s delivery procedures so you could act when the time was right.

“To execute your plan, you teamed up with Scott, using his financial troubles and greed to your advantage. You offered him money in exchange for the child in Bella’s womb, insisting it must be a stillborn.”

As she spoke these last words, her tone turned serious, a chill radiating from her eyes.

She continued, “To get that money, Scott smothered his own child; you conspired to leave that baby at a certain spot for the exchange.

“You were careful with your actions; even your voice was disguised, and you ensured that your deals happened only over the phone, leaving Scott unaware of who you were.

“At first, I thought Scott was the one who abandoned me in the mountains, but now I see he was just a pawn in this sick game.

The real mastermind behind my abandonment was you.”

A glimmer of frost appeared in Elysia’s eyes as she met Ryan’s gaze. “You’re usually very careful, which is why you managed to remain hidden in the Evans residence for all those years without being discovered.

“But how could you be so reckless as to get personally involved, going to the hospital and using your real identity? Did you really think no one would be able to trace that?”

Ryan stayed silent as Elysia continued, “If I’m right, your goal was perfection; you felt you could trust no one else with this task.”

She paused, crouching down to lock eyes with Ryan, her voice heavy with disdain. “So, you felt you had to do it yourself; even if your plan failed, you would still have the chance to kill me.”

At her words, Ryan laughed. “You really are sharp, and now I regret not ending your life back then instead of giving you a second chance.”

The entire Evans family stood in stunned silence; it was really Ryan. All these years, his disguise had worked perfectly, evading any suspicion.

Unable to hold back any longer, Edward abruptly stood up and grabbed Ryan by the collar, his voice filled with anger. “We have treated you kindly. Why would you do this?”

1/3 07:41 Tue, 11 Mar Chapter 255 “You dare to ask me why?” Ryan shot back, his tone venomous and unwavering. “Every member of the Evans family is completely hypocritical; if it weren’t for you, my family would not have suffered such a tragic fate.”

“What do you mean?” Edward asked, confused.

Edward was still confused and then heard Elysia’s voice behind him. “You are Kaelen’s son. Before joining the Evans family, you changed your name to Ryan, didn’t you?”

“You are indeed much smarter than them,” Ryan replied.

Edward was taken aback. “Kaelen’s son?”

“That’s right. It’s me.” His eyes locked onto Edward’s.

Edward stayed silent. Ryan’s voice was thick with malice. “Stop pretending you don’t know you were responsible for my family’s deaths.”

At this shocking revelation, everyone went quiet, with Edward the first to break the silence. “What do you mean by that?”

Ryan smirked. “You don’t remember? Let me jog your memory. Years ago, my dad, at Jim’s behest, stole a document from you;

do you recall this?”

Edward’s brows furrowed slightly; if this hadn’t happened, his father Eamon wouldn’t have been driven to his death by rage.

Back then, Eamon had entrusted the company to Edward. Jim, feeling jealous, demanded a competition to see who could win a certain contract first.

Both of them prepared their proposals for the bid. Fearing failure, Jim bribed the family’s butler, Kaelen, to steal Edward’s proposal, only to be caught in the act. Kaelen revealed everything, leading to Eamon’s tragic death due to anger.

This event had created a chasm between Edward and Jim’s family, silencing their interactions. As for Kaelen, he was simply fired.

Edward couldn’t understand this situation. ‘How can Ryan claim that I am responsible for his family’s deaths?‘ he wondered.

When this incident happened, Fabian was only five years old and Javier just three, with only hazy memories of their grandfather’s death due to Jim. From that moment on, their dislike for Jim deepened.

Noticing Edward’s silence, Ryan pressed on, “You know the truth deep down. That incident is impossible to forget, isn’t it? I’ve heard that Eamon’s death was a direct result of this.

“Eamon deserved that tragic death. With a hypocritical offspring like you, living would only have been torture.”

Fury ignited within Edward. He quickly grasped Ryan’s collar, his voice filled with rage. “Don’t you dare say that again!”

Ryan said, “I can repeat it ten or a hundred times!”

Edward’s fists clenched tightly as he delivered a powerful punch to Ryan’s face. “This is my lesson for my dad, so you could leave him some peace,” he growled.

Ryan sneered coldly. “Eamon may have found peace, but my parents, buried deep in the ground, still struggle to find solace.”
