Chapter 28
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
hapter 28 Zane hadnât even opened his mouth when she bolted.
2611 As he watched her sprint away, a sly grin spread across Zaneâs face. In the past, seeing other women drool over him made him feel sick.
But now, seeing Elysia do the same, he actually felt good. He even felt nice to be wanted.
Alice saw Zaneâs sudden smile and was shocked like sheâd seen a ghost. She thought, âIsnât Zane always stoneâfaced? Whatâs with this smile?â
On the way back, she let out a long sigh, thinking the car was finally going at a normal speed.
Earlier, it was like a snailâs crawl. But she didnât dare ask, afraid Elysia would think Zane was driving slowly on purpose, not wanting to take her home.
After Elysia got home, she took a cold shower to calm down. She kept reminding herself in her head not to get lost in someoneâs looks.
Emma was in a great mood today. She just heard that Elysia fell asleep during the Language and Composition test. If Elysia could sleep during a test where points were easy to score, it showed how bad she really was.
Emma figured if Elysia bombed Language and Composition, her other subjects couldnât be much better. The chance to show Elysia up sheâd been waiting for was finally coming, and she was happy about it.
Elysia changed into her pajamas and planned to type up the manuscript sheâd been writing. She started writing just for fun, but then she got more and more into it. So she wrote a little every day and had a bunch of words now.
After copying all her handwritten notes to the computer, it was one in the morning. She found a website, made an account. and picked the pen name âNightwood.â Then she posted her story in chapters and went to bed.
The next morning at school, Elysia felt strange looks and heard quiet gossip.
âThatâs Elysia, the one who transferred to Class I. I heard she fell asleep during the Language and Composition test.â âHow did someone who sleeps during a test get into Class 1?â
âWho knows?!â
Elysia frowned at the gossip, thinking. âBad news travels fast. Why do they have time to talk about me? Why not use that time to improve their own grades? I donât get it.
When she got to Class 1, the atmosphere was super tense. Most udents knew about her sleeping during the test and were worried sheâd bring the class average down. But after what happened last time, no one dared to mess with her.
But Bianca couldnât take it anymore. As the leader r of Class 1, she couldnât let anyone drag the class down. If someone did, sheâd cut them out. She couldnât wait to get Elysia out of Class 1.
She thought if she could get Elysia out before the monthly testults came out, Elysiaâs scores wouldnât count toward Class Lâs average. Then Class 1 could keep its honor and stay the best i the school.

Chapter 28 âWhy did you sleep during the test, Elysia? Bianca demanded.
Â¥361%å Î Elysia frowned, thinking, âDoes she have to control everything? Is she thinking straight? I sleep when I want. Do I need her permission?
Thereâs no rule against sleeping during a test. Besides, I finished all the questions. I just didnât write the essay. Is it really that big of a deal?â
She started to seriously wonder if she was getting too much attention at school. Anything related to her was fair game for people to talk about.
Seeing Elysia not answering, Bianca thought she was guilty and felt smug. âElysia, why donât you just leave Class 1? To be honest, with your study habits, you really donât fit in here.â
âBianca Janssen, I think you crossed the line, Justin said, fixing his gaze on Bianca, His tone was solid like he was laying down the law. âElysiaâs in our class. Youâre supposed to help her, instead of kicking her out.
Thatâs what a good class leader does.â
Bianca was left speechless. She couldnât believe Justin was backing Elysia. He was usually so handsâoff, not the one to get in the middle of things. And now he was sticking up for Elysia, the one Bianca couldnât stand. It really ticked her off.
Justin called Bianca by her full name, but he called Elysia just by her first name. It was clear who he was closer to Bianca wondered if she was really that unlikable, even less likable than Elysia She thought, âWhy is Justin helping Elysia? He always looks down on people he thinks are beneath him. And Elysiaâs not even in the same league as me. Iâm a top student and the class leader. How can Elysia compare? Why is Justin helping her?â
Bianca couldnât accept it. She had always liked Justin and tried to get closer to him by studying together, but he always shot her down.
Seeing him do the same to others, she thought he was just naturally cold. But today, this cold person was actually speaking up for someone else, and it left her feeling really upset.
Leon was also surprised. Justin taking the initiative to help someone was a first in his memory. It felt almost surreal. Elysia glanced at Justin, thinking he was being pretty loyal today, But she didnât understand why he had started meddling again.
Robert watched the scene unfold, equally surprised that Justin would stick up for Elysia.
However, his impression of Elysia wasnât great. Ever since she had stared at him in Amour café, he had thought of her as a bit of a flirt. Hearing more rumors about her later only worsened his opinion Moreover, Emma once shared some negative things about her sister, which sent Robertâs opinion of Elysia plummeting even further.
Seeing Bianca confront Elysia, he didnât think there was anything wrong with it. In fact, he thought Bianca was doing a good job.
Deep down, he looked down on Elysia as well.
Suppressing her jealousy, Bianca looked at justin and said, âJust as the class leader, I canât just focus on her. I canât let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch!â
Hearing Biancaâs words, Elysia frowned, shocked that she had called her a bad apple. She wasnât going to take that lying down 14:19 Tue, Jan 28 Chapter 28 61%
She looked at Bianca with a playful smile. âBianca, if you call me bad apple, then letâs see if you dare to compete with me.â
The classmates were all taken aback by Elysiaâs words. She was actually challenging Bianca. They thought they had misheard.
Bianca was ranked in the top three of their grade; Elysia must have lost her mind to want to compete with her.
Bianca thought, This is my chance!â
Her lips curled into a smirk as she asked, âSure! What do we compete in?â
Elysia chuckled lightly. âSince you value academics so much, letâs compete in that!â
âHow do we do it?â Bianca asked, her body language showing her confidence.
âItâs simple. Weâll have someone write a random question on the blackboard, any subject. We both answer it. Whoever finishes correctly in the shortest time wins. How about that? Do you dare?â Elysia said, her posture relaxed but confident.
