Chapter 297

Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Chapter 297 Elysia explained, “Arcanum House is too far away. We found a new place to stay. We’re moving in tomorrow.”

Phoebe asked, “Is it in Royal Bay?”

Elysia replied, “Yeah.”

Phoebe nodded. She didn’t care where Royal Bay was as long as she could stay with Elysia.

Back in their little house, Elysia lay on the bed. Every time she closed her eyes, Zane’s handsome, bewitching face and his deep, magnetic voice popped into her mind.

It was like he was whispering right into her car, his warm breath tickling her and setting her heart aflutter.

A wave of restlessness washed over her, and she didn’t know what was happening to her. She thought, ‘When did I start acting so weak? Since I met Zane, I’ve been acting out of character. Now I blush at the drop of a hat.

Elysia felt a pang of regret. Beauty really could be a curse. But Zane had that good–looking face, and she was just a sucker for it.

Phoebe was already fast asleep beside her, her breathing growing softer. Elysia carefully pulled back the covers and slipped out of bed, moving as quietly as possible so she wouldn’t wake Phoebe.

She opened the door just a crack and slipped through the gap. The cool night breeze hit her, and the restlessness on her skin eased just a bit.

In the courtyard, Elysia paced back and forth alone. The moonlight stretched her shadow long and thin, making her feel lonely.

She didn’t know how much time passed before her racing heart finally calmed down.

Meanwhile, in Royal Bay, Zane was feeling restless and hot. After getting up and taking a cold shower, he finally felt better.

He thought, ‘Elysia is really something. Doesn’t she know I have zero resistance to her? If I hadn’t kept that fire in check, who knows what would’ve happened?‘

Early the next morning, just as the sky was beginning to lighten, Elysia opened her eyes.

Phoebe was still fast asleep beside her, her eyelashes fluttering, one hand resting on Elysia’s body, pinning her down.

Elysia stared out the window, lost in thought as the sun began to rise. Phoebe still showed no signs of waking up. Glancing at her wristwatch, Elysia carefully lifted Phoebe’s hand off her.

As soon as she shifted, her wrist was grabbed tightly. Elysia looked back in confusion to see Phoebe already sitting up, wide awake. ‘Wasn’t she just sleeping soundly? How is she so alert now?‘ Elysia wondered.

“Elysia, where are you going?” Phoebe asked.

“School,” Elysia replied.

“Aren’t we moving today?”

“I’ll have Yuna take you over later. You can get familiar with the place. If you get bored, you can hang out at Arca I’ll come by later to pick you up.”

House.

Phoebe stretched lazily. “I’m not bored,” she said, then yawned. “Forget it. You should go to class. I’ll have Yuna take me to Royal Bay later. You’re gonna be late for school. Go!”

Chapter 297 Without waiting for Elysia’s response, Phoebe flopped back onto the bed, already half–asleep.

Elysia shook her head, amused. One minute Phoebe was full of energy, and the next, she was dozing off in seconds. Her ability to fall asleep so quickly was something most people couldn’t pull off.

After a quick wash, Elysia stepped out of the house. Yuna was already waiting outside. “Ms. Rosewood,” she greeted.

Elysia nodded and started walking. As she passed the storage room, she paused, her eyes falling on the wooden door. She thought of Zoe inside, the rope marks on her wrists, and said, ‘Get some medicine from the pharmacy and treat her wounds.”

“Got it, Ms. Rosewood,” Yuna replied.

Elysia nodded again and kept walking. As soon as they stepped out of Arcanum House, Yuna hurried to open the car door for her.

The car moved from the desolate roads into the bustling downtown area. Elysia kept her eyes on the window, lost in thought.

“After this, Phoebe and I are moving to Royal Bay. Arcanum House will be in your and Alyce’s hands. If anything urgent comes up, you can find me there,” Elysia said.

“Got it, Ms. Rosewood,” Yuna replied.

At that moment, in Class 1 at Milton School, Bianca sat at her desk, her eyes fixed on the door as if waiting for someone.

Her eyes sparkled with triumph and anticipation. She thought, ‘As soon as I tell Justin what I saw yesterday, he’ll never be blinded by that tramp Elysia again.’

Her heart swelled with uncontrollable joy. She thought, ‘Elysia, you’re nothing but a sly seductress. Who cares if you’re smart or pretty?

A reputation for being immoral and promiscuous–just that alone will crush you. We’ll see if Justin even bothers with you again.’

A smug smile crept onto her lips. Just then, Justin walked in. Bianca’s eyes lit up the moment she saw him.

She quickly wiped the smile off her face, pretending to be casual as she stood up and walked over to him.

“Justin, I need to talk to you,” she said in a voice only the two of them could hear. Without waiting for his reaction, she walked straight out of the classroom and stood in the hallway.

Justin glanced in the direction she’d left, raised an eyebrow, and followed her out.

Since it was early morning, most students hadn’t arrived yet, and the hallway was empty except for them.

Justin stood with one hand in his pocket, his expression calm but with a hint of impatience in his slightly furrowed brow. “What is it?”

The short, cold words hit Bianca’s ears. She looked at the guy in front of her. ‘Is it that hard for him to say a few more words to me?‘ she thought.

But she still had some sense left. This wasn’t the time to worry about that. She had more important things to deal with. “Justin, guess who I saw at the school gate yesterday?” She had a smile on her face.

But Justin wasn’t in the mood for guessing games. His brow furrowed even more. “If you’ve got nothing important, I’m heading back in.” He started to turn away.

Chapter 297 Bianca’s hands clenched at his retreating figure. She thought, ‘Always like this? Can’t he just play along for once? Just let me finish what I’m saying?

Unable to hold back her irritation any longer, she blurted out, “Do you treat Elysia the same way?”

Justin’s steps faltered, but he didn’t turn around or say a word.

Bianca’s teeth ground together. She was so jealous of Elysia. She thought, ‘But soon, I won’t have to be jealous anymore. What guy would stand by and let his girl date two guys at once? Especially a perfectionist like Justin.

There’s no way he’ll keep treating her the same once he knows what she’s really like!

Bianca’s voice softened as she looked at his back. “What I need to tell you is actually about her. You really don’t want to hear it?”
