Chapter 329
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 329 Elysia was taken aback by Aliceâs suggestion.
She glanced at Zane, whose eyes were practically glowing, then at Alice, who was brimming with anticipation.
âAre they telepathic?â Elysia wondered. Not only did they share the same extravagant tendencies, but even the hopeful expressions in their eyes were eerily similar.
âAlice, let me think about it, alright?â Elysia said.

40 âAlright, but once you decide, you have to move to Royal Bay, okay? Pinky promise!â Alice lifted her right hand, curling four fingers into a loose fist while her pinky extended slightly.
Seeing how serious Alice was, Elysia extended her own pinky, linking it with Aliceâs. âItâs a promise then. If you donât keep it, then Zane will turn into a puppy,â added Alice.
Zane mentally rolled his eyes. âWhy am I the one suffering in the end?â he wondered.
Elysia caught a glimpse of Zaneâs expression and couldnât help but smile. She was clever, always finding a way to avoid trouble herself.
Zane tousled Aliceâs hair before stepping out of the car. Alice, unwilling to part, widened her round eyes. âBye, Elysia!â
âGoodbye, Alice,â Elysia replied.
She stood at the entrance of Arcanum House, watching their car drive off into the distance before finally turning around.
Just as she reached for the wooden door, a vaguely familiar voice called out from behind her. âElysia!â
Her hand froze on the door handle. In her peripheral vision, she spotted a girl standing at the bottom of the steps.
The girl was wrapped up tightly in a loose tracksuit, a baseball cap pulled low over her face, and a mask covering the lower half.
Her hands were stuffed into her pockets, making her entire figure look round and bundled.
Elysia arched an eyebrow, slowly turning to get a better look at her. She carefully searched her memory, trying to place the person in front of her.
Yet no matter how hard Elysia tried, she drew a complete blank. But something told her she knew this person.
âWho are you?â Elysiaâs voice was cool, almost detached in the dimming evening light.
The girl let out a cold snort, her tone equally frosty. âYou donât remember me?â
Elysiaâs brows furrowed further. âWho is she? And why does her voice sound so familiar?â she wondered.
Before she could respond, the girl spoke again. âItâs better if you donât remember. That way, itâll be easier for me to t action.â
âWhat do you want?â Elysia asked.
âWhat do you think? Weâre in an empty, deserted place, with no one around to see or hear. Isnât it the perfect moment to settle an old score?â Her voice was eerie, laced with chilling intent.
Though the girl didnât possess an overwhelmingly strong aura, Elysia could faintly sense a murderous edge in her presence.
âShe wants to kill me?â Elysia smirked, inwardly amused. âDoes she even realize who sheâs dealing with?â
1/3 Chapter 29 âWhere so funny? The gris eyes darkened, the malice in her gaze interitying âIâm laughing at how stupid you are? Vyús vid The girlâs eyes narrowed, Stupid? Sheâs about to die, yet the still dares to act arrogant? she wondered To Grace, Elysia was nothing more than a walking, stack of cash. As long as the got rid of Plysia, she would receive 150 thousand dollars, a sum that could change her fate.
With that money, she could leave this wretched place and finally live the life she wanted âKeep running your mouth. It wonât change the fact that you wonât be alive much longer, Grace said.
âAnd you really think you can hurt me? Elysia countered.
Elysiaâs tone was laced with amusement. The girl narrowed her eyes into thin slits, visibly caught off guard. âWhat do you mean?
âRelax, Elysia said, folding her arms and stepping forward, closing the distance between them. âYou come here, onto my turf, and declare youâre going to kill me? Donât you think thatâs a little delusional?â
She spoke so naturally that a chill ran down the girlâs spine.
She had expected to feel a rush of satisfaction as Elysia walked right into her range. After all, the closer Elysia got, the easier it would be to strike.
But instead of triumph, an unsettling fear crept up her spine. Why does she say the word kill so easily as if it means nothing? she wondered.
âWhatâs the matter? Elysiaâs voice was teasing, her lips curving into a devilish smirk. âDo not tell me that you are scared?â
Bathed in the dim light of dusk, she looked like a queen of the dark, mysterious, dangerous, and utterly captivating.
The girlâs hands clenched inside her pockets. She forced herself to meet Elysiaâs gaze, swallowing down her nerves.
âI canât back down now. No hesitation, no weakness, the girl thought.
Elysia watched her in silence for a moment before her smirk deepened. âIf you donât dare to make a move, then I will.â
The girlâs pupils shrank. In one swift motion, she pulled a dagger from her pocket and lunged straight for Elysiaâs throat.
Elysia reacted instantly, stepping back just as she prepared to strike. But before she could move, a figure shot out from the shadows. With a sharp, precise kick to the chest, the girl was sent flying, crashing heavily onto the ground.
Elysiaâs eyes flickered as she turned to look at the blackâclad woman standing before her. She recognized that figure instantly.
âYou do realize using force might make you bleed to death, right?â
Zoe cast her a sidelong glance, her voice cold. âI know my limits. Mind your own business.â
Zoe was still as stubborn as ever. Elysia crossed her arms, watching her with a faint smile. âSo, you show up now and pull this?
Do not tell me Arcanum House has been holding you for so long that you canât bear to leave?â
âYouâre overthinking,â Zoe said flatly. âI was just passing by.â
âOh, really? A convenient coincidence, considering this is neither a bustling city street nor a residential area.â Elysiaâs tone was laced with sarcasm.
2/3 09:19 Mon, 17 Mar Chapter 329 Zoe said nothing. Her gaze remained downcast, silent. Then, after a moment, she gestured toward Grace, still crumpled on the ground. âWhat do you plan to do with her?â
âWhat do you think?â Elysia countered.
âShe tried to kill you, Zoe stated, her meaning clear. Someone like that should be eliminated before she could pose a threat again Elysia, however, remained unfazed. Her gaze shifted to Zoe, her expression unreadable. âYou also tried to kill me once. And yet, here you are, saving me.â
Zoe stiffened. âI just do not want you dying at someone elseâs hands.â
Elysia chuckled. âYou really think she could have killed me?â
Zoe studied her for a moment. It was true. The girl never stood a chance.
But when Zoe had seen that dagger flash toward Elysia, she had reacted without hesitation. A protective instinct had surged through her, overriding everything else.
Zoe had almost forgotten the poison in her veins, the fact that using force could have killed her instead. If she had not stopped herself in time, she might not have been standing here right now.
She dropped her gaze, unable to find an answer. Just then, two beams of light cut through the darkness, growing brighter as a car approached.
Zane sat inside, his grip tightening on the wheel. As he spotted Elysia, unharmed, standing tall, the weight pressing on his chest eased.
But as his eyes swept across the scene, taking in the darkâclad woman beside Elysia and the girl lying motionless on the ground, his brows shot up sharply.
And when his gaze landed on Grace, his expression darkened. It was just as he had suspected.
