Chapter 330
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 330 Chapter 330 75%
The girl in workout clothes was frozen in terror as the car sped toward her, showing no signs of stopping Her heart pounded painfully in her chest, and she clutched at it, her face pale. She forced herself to her feet, shaking and unsteady, and tried to stumble out of the wayâbut it felt like time was running out.
In that split second, she was sure she was done for. The car was coming right at her, and she couldnât move fast enough. But then, just a foot away, the car screeched to a halt.
She collapsed, her body going limp, and gasped for breath. Relief flooded through her as she realized she was still alive.
Zane was out of the car in an instant, sprinting over to Elysia. He grabbed her shoulders, his eyes scanning her frantically. When he saw she was in one piece, the tightness in his face finally eased.
âZane, why did you-â she began, but Aliceâs voice interrupted over the comm.
âZane just turned around out of nowhere. When I asked him why, he clammed up and just kept pushing to get back here, ASAP, Alice explained, looking confused.
Zane looked at the girl in workout clothes on the ground. âI saw a taxi a minute ago. She was in the back, dressed weirdly, and heading to the Arcanum House. I thought something was off, so I came to check on youâ
Elysia rolled her eyes, a smirk on her face. âZane, relax. Even if there were a dozen of her, they wouldnât stand a chance against me.â
Zane gave Elysiaâs head a light tap, smiling softly. âI know youâre tough, but I canât help worrying. I just donât want you to get hurt, even a little.
Elysiaâs smile faded as she met his earnest gaze. âIâll watch my step from now on and avoid trouble, I promise.â
Zane nodded. âOkay,â
Meanwhile, Alice finally pieced things together. She saw the girl on the ground and her anger flared. âWho on earth are you, messing with Elysia?â She took a step forward, her expression fierce.
Elysia tried to step in, but Zane was quicker. He grabbed her arm and shook his head at Alice. âAlice, stop.â
Alice froze, thrown off by Zaneâs stern tone. She turned to him, eyes wide. âI just want to know who she is and make her pay for what she did to Elysia.â
Zane sighed, his expression softening. âYouâre still young, Alice. Some fights arenât worth getting into. Let us handle this.â
Alice was about to say something to Zane when the woman in black interrupted sharply, âGirl, you shouldnât get involved in this.
Leave it to the adults.â
As she spoke, the woman stepped forward, took the girl in the tracksuit by the hand, and yanked off her mask and cap with the other.
Her face was now fully exposed, and Elysiaâs eyes widened. Now she understood why sheâd found the womanâs voice so familiar.
âGrace,â Elysia said, her voice cold as ice.
Alice didnât know much about Grace, but she remembered a girl from the STEM class in Grade 12 being dragged out of school by a rude woman who kept calling her useless and talking about marrying her off for money. She thought it might have been Grace.
1/3 08:39 Tue, 18 Mar Chapter 330 75%1 11 At Milton School, where most kids came from money, rumors like these didnât spread often. So this one had made waves in their middle school for a while.
Alice had never been into gossip, though, and only picked up bits and pieces back thenâenough to know something had gone down but not enough to remember the details. âWere you a student at Milton School?â she asked.
Grace shot Alice a hard look, her eyes flashing. She was clearly spooked by Elysia and knew she couldnât go toeâtoâtoe with her and her group. But Alice was just a young kidâcasy prey.
Alice saw the defiance in Graceâs eyes and frowned. She could tell Grace was acting tough before her just because she was younger. No way was Alice backing down from that.
She glanced at Elysia and put on a wounded look. âElysia, sheâs being rude to me,â she said, her voice trembling just a bit.
She dashed over to Elysia, clinging to her arm with big, wide eyes that looked like they could melt anyoneâs heart.
Elysia gave Alice a soft smile and ruffled her hair. âHey, donât sweat it. Iâve got your back.â
Then Elysia turned to Grace, her tone turning icy. âGrace, should I knock out your teeth first, cut out your tongue, or just sew your mouth shut? You donât want to talk anyway.â
Graceâs heart pounded in her chest. She knew Elysia, but right now, she felt like she was staring at a stranger. She couldnât believe Elysia was saying something like that.
âIf you ask me, letâs just do it allâknock out the teeth, cut the tongue, and sew up the mouth. Sounds like a plan, right?â Elysia continued.
Grace stared at Elysia, trying to calm herself down, but her body was shaking uncontrollably. âElysia, donât push it,â she said, her voice shaking. She just couldnât shake the feeling that Elysia was dead serious.
Elysia snorted. âPush it? You think Iâm pushing it? Give me a break.â She glared at Grace, her eyes cold as ice. âYou were the one who tried to kill me today. Now you got caught, and suddenly Iâm the bad guy?
âIf I hadnât gotten lucky and ended up dead because of you, would you still think Iâm pushing it? Iâm not like you, always eager to kill. I just want to shut you up. Is that really too much to ask?â
Alice felt a strange sense of safety around Elysia, clinging to her tighter as if she were a lifeline. She admired how fearless Elysia was, never backing down from anyoneâs threats.
Grace met Elysiaâs gaze headâon. âWhat do you want?â she demanded.
Elysia shrugged, her tone casual but laced with danger. âTell me who hired you, and maybe Iâll let you keep your mouth intact.â
Grace tried to sound tough. âThere are plenty of people who hate you. Canât you figure it out yourself?â
Elysia gave her a cold smile. âIâm giving you one last chance. If you donât take it, Iâm done playing nice,â she said, glancing at Graceâs lips. âItâd be a shame if such a pretty mouth couldnât talk anymore.â
Graceâs mind raced. She was stuck between a rock and a hard placeâeither she ratted out Bianca or kept quiet.
But even if she stayed silent, there was no guarantee sheâd make it out alive. And if she did survive, sheâd never finish Biancaâs job, which meant the $150,000 was as good as gone.
Grace knew Elysia would find the mastermind even if she kept quiet. Tired of taking the pressure alone, she took a deep breath, looked Elysia in the eye, and said, âIâll tell you everything, but you have to let me go.â
