Chapter 332
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
r 332 Chapter 332 The three people eavesdropping behind the gate quickly pushed it open and stepped into the courtyard.
Alyce was the first to speak up. âMs. Rosewood, itâs not my fault. Phoebe was the one who dragged us into this.â
Yuna cleared her throat. âMs. Rosewood, I can back Alyce up. Sheâs not lying.â
Phoebe just shook her head. âElysia, come on. I was just waiting for the right moment. You couldâve handled this on your own.
Besides...â She glanced over at the woman in black. âSheâs here to help you.â
It was then that Yuna and Alyce noticed the woman controlling Grace. They realized it was Zoe, who they thought had left already. They wondered why she was back.
âMs. Rosewood...â Yuna began, but Elysia cut her off with a raised hand.
Graceâs mind was spinning. âHave I heard correctly? Why was everyone so respectful to Elysia?â she wondered.
Suddenly, a terrifying thought hit her, and she felt a wave of panic. She shook her head, trying to dismiss it. âNo way, this is impossible!â
âWhatâs so impossible?â Elysia asked, her voice light and teasing.
Grace stared up at her, her heart racing. âElysia, who are you really?â
Elysia just smiled. âWho do you think I am?â
Graceâs eyes widened as she noticed the three people who had joined the scene. âAre you... are you the Owner of Arcanum House?â she managed to say, her voice trembling.
Sheâd never met the Owner of Arcanum House before, but the newcomersâ attitude toward Elysia said it all. It hit Grace like a punch in the gutâElysia was the Owner of Arcanum House.
Grace couldnât stop shaking. She regretted agreeing to Biancaâs plan. The place was desertedâElysia could do whatever she wanted, and no one would ever find out.
She glanced up at the honor board above the door, where âArcanum Houseâ was written in bold letters. Sheâd thought Arcanum House would be her last hope, but she never expected the owner to be the one wanting her life.
She couldnât even bring herself to think about that name anymore. Sheâd lost everythingâno money, and now her life was on the line, all because of Bianca.
Then it hit her. She turned to Elysia, her voice urgent. âElysia, give me a chance to live, and Iâll work for you.â
Elysia didnât respond, so Grace kept pleading, her voice trembling with desperation. âBianca told me to kill you. I can get revenge for you. Just give me a chance to live, Elysia. Iâm begging you.â
Alice rolled her eyes in disgust. âDidnât she just act all highâandâmighty a minute ago, like she was better than everyone else?
And now she was already throwing in the towel and begging for mercy? What a joke!â she sneered inwardly.
âGrace, if I wanted revenge, Iâd do it myself. Why would I need you? Look aroundâeveryone here is way better than you. Relying on you would be pathetic,â Elysia said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Graceâs eyes darkened. She wanted to convince Elysia, but she couldnât think of anything that would make sense.
âYuna, take her to the police station. You know what to do,â Elysia said, her voice flat.
She turned to Grace. âIf you want to get out of there anytime soon, you better tell the police everything. If you try to hide 1/3 75%
Chapter 3392 anything or donât speak up, you might find yourself without a place in Clusia anymore.â
Grace couldnât figure it out. What is Elysia up to? Is she trying to get me to turn on Biancaâand maybe even myself? And if I donât play along, what then?â she wondered.
âIf you donât explain yourself, the day you get out of prison is the day you hit rock bottom.â Elysia said, her voice steady but chilling Grace was stunned that Elysia could read her thoughts. Their eyes met, and she shivered. Elysiaâs cold, intimidating gaze still unnerved her, but she wasnât as terrified as beforeâbecause at least she didnât have to die.
While Grace was still trying to make sense of it, Elysia pulled a voice recorder from her pocket and handed it to Yuna. âThis is the evidence. Take it to the police,â she said, giving Yuna a quick wink.
Yuna nodded, catching on right away. âYes, Ms. Rosewood. Iâll get it done.â
âHurry back,â Elysia added, her eyes still fixed on Grace.
Yuna nodded, stepped over to Grace, and grabbed her arm. Only then did Zoe release her grip and step back.
Once Yuna had dragged Grace out of sight, Alice shook off her daze and turned to Elysia, her voice full of curiosity. âHow did you know Grace would show up and have a voice recorder ready?â
Before Elysia could respond, Phoebe let out a laugh. âElysia didnât see this coming,â she said.
Alice glanced at Phoebe, her brow furrowed in confusion. âThen how did she have the recorder ready?â
âYouâll know Elysia more if you spend more time with her. She always keeps a voice recorder on her. And if Iâm not mistaken, there was no evidence in that recorder,â Phoebe added.
Aliceâs confusion deepened. âThat still doesnât make sense. If there was no evidence, why did she give it to Yuna?â
Phoebe realized she wasnât making any headway with the girl, so she looked over at Alyce, hoping she could step in.
Alyce got the hint and jumped back into the conversation. âMs. Rosewood knew Grace might lie, so she gave the âevidenceâ to Yuna right in front of her. That way, Grace had to tell the truth.â
Aliceâs eyes lit up. âSo the voice recorder was just a trick? If Grace confessed, sheâd get off easier than if she kept quiet?â
Elysia smiled and gave Alice a gentle pat on the head. âSpot on. Smart girl.â
Alice beamed, thrilled that Elysia thought she was smart.
Phoebe crossed her arms and laughed, thinking, âAlice is acting like a kid who just got a gold star.
âAlright, letâs go inside,â Elysia said, glancing back at Zoe. âYouâre coming too.â
As they walked into Arcanum House, Elysia paused and turned to Alyce. âHey, Alyce, can you show Zoe to a guest room? She can crash here for now.â
Alyce looked Zoe up and down, her face unreadable. She gave a short nod to Elysia. âGot it, Ms. Rosewood. Iâll take care of it.â
âAppreciate it,â Elysia said, then looked at Zoe. âYou can stay here for now. If you want to leave later, thatâs fine too.â
âThis way, Zoe,â Alyce said, her voice flat. She didnât like Zoe, who had nearly taken Elysia out before and was now back after being let go. Even though Zoe had helped earlier, Alyce knew Elysia could have handled it without her.
Zoe stood there, unmoving. Elysia raised an eyebrow, asking, âWhatâs the matter? Donât you want to stay?â
