Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Chapter 83 Chapter 83 3 32%3 +5 The entire venue lit up again. A flash of jealousy flickered in Bianca’s eyes. Ever since Elysia stepped onto the court, Bianca couldn’t take her eyes off Justin.

As she saw the smile grow on Justin’s face and the clear admiration in his eyes, Bianca’s jealousy bubbled up inside her.

She thought, ‘Why did Elysia have to come onto the court? Why does she have to shine so bright? I envy her–everything she does seems perfect! I hate the smile Justin gave her!‘

Bianca wasn’t alone in her feelings; Grace looked just as miserable. At that moment, she appeared as if she had bitten into something sour, her face clouded with disappointment.

She had prepared herself to see Elysia fail, but she was shocked by how well Elysia played basketball.

Hearing all the praise for Elysia made Grace feel uneasy. An almost perfect person like Elysia could easily spark jealousy.

Grace thought, ‘Life is really unfair; not only did Elysia get beauty and a privileged life, but she also excels at school and basketball–she doesn’t lose to anyone!

‘Meanwhile, those of us who are just ordinary may never achieve what she has. If only I had even one talent like hers, I would feel satisfied.‘

The whistle blew again, signaling the end of the second match. The score was tied at 1:1, so a third game was needed to decide the winner.

At that moment, Elysia came off the court, wiping the sweat from her forehead. She took a bottle of water from Ava, twisted off the cap, and took a refreshing sip.

“Elysia, you were amazing!” Sterling shouted, giving her a thumbs–up and showering her with praise.

“Isn’t that clear? Elysia is just incredible!” Ava said, her face beaming with joy like she had just won the lottery.

Sterling added, “Elysia, if you had played in the first game, Class would have lost without a chance for a third match!”

“Exactly!” Ava agreed.

“Do you know what it means to make a grand entrance?” Eric gave them both a playful nudge.

They quickly realized. “Eric, you got a point!“.

Justin walked over, and Eric quickly stepped in front of his friends. “Justin, what brings you over to our side? Remember, we’re rivals right now!”

In response, Justin said calmly, “Competition comes second; friendship comes first.”

“Now you want to talk about friendship? Didn’t you hear when your classmates mocked ours?”

While Justin didn’t know everything that happened today, he sensed that Class I had stirred something up. Normally, he would hardly care, but this time, it was Elysia who was provoked and his attitude changed.

“I’m sorry, Justin answered, then turned to Elysia with a smile. Give it your all in the next match!”

After Elysia nodded, Justin left. Bianca’s jealousy was hard to hid; her hatred for Elysia was clear.

With the whistle signaling the start of the third match, the teams switched sides. This time, Class 1 changed their strategy, with four players trying to trap Elysia while the fifth player waited for a pass.

+5 Eric and his friends watched closely, worried about whether Elysia could hold up against such intense pressure. The group of Class 1 students in the audience were all watching the situation on the field with an expression as if they were watching a good show.

Just when they thought their plan was foolproof, Elysia skillfully maneuvered past her defenders and smoothly scored, making the crowd erupt in cheers.

As the third match ended, the score was 0:10. Class 1 scored nothing, while Class 6 scored ten points. The overall score stood at 2:1, with Class 6 winning.

The Class 1 students wore grim faces; not only had they lost, but it was a humiliating defeat. They felt it was best not to linger on the court and left quietly, heads down.

Ava rolled her eyes at their disappearing figures and asked Eric, So, what happened today?”

Still celebrating their victory, Eric paused at the question, looking confused. “You don’t know?”

“Do we even need to ask if we knew?” Ava replied, her tone sharp Scratching his head, Eric explained, “The selection for the Honor Guards‘ baton toss went to Bianca, even though Elysia was suggested. For some reason, her nomination was rejected.

“Because of this, the Class 1 students were showing off in front of our class. I couldn’t let them flaunt their arrogance! So, we had a game at the basketball court, and the rest, as you know, unfolded.”

Ava exclaimed, “So that’s how it was! Now I understand!”

The group exchanged looks, silently thought, ‘Elysia is truly something else easily outshining so many from Class 1! What a move As the crowd began to disperse, Elysia and Ava walked off the basketball court. They originally planned to go to the cafeteria, but Ava suddenly remembered she hadn’t submitted her art.

She had been so focused on the game that she forgot. “Um... you all go ahead! I still need to submit my drawing...”

Eric said, “Where is it? I’ll submit it for you.”

Grateful for Eric’s offer, Ava quickly responded, “It’s on my desk. Just remember not to mix it up; there’s a red mark at the bottom of my tube.”

“Don’t worry! I got this,” Eric assured her before running off toward the classroom.

When Eric reached Ava’s desk, he spotted the red mark at the bottom of one of the drawing tubes. He handed that tube to the teacher, making sure Ava’s information was registered before he left.

After Scott walked out, Bella quietly slipped out the door and took a taxi to a villa in the suburbs. However, when she stepped inside, she didn’t find Emma.

The house appeared unnervingly clean, which raised her concerns about how Emma was managing to live there alone.

Her heart raced with anxiety as she feared those men might have returned. She thought, ‘Haven’t Robert already paid them off?”

Grabbing a wooden stick from the side, Emma moved cautiously into the house. The moment she saw a familiar figure standing in the living room, the stick slipped from her grip and fell to the floor. “Mom...”
