Chapter 90
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 90 85%1 +13 Justin was surprised by Elysiaâs refusal. âIf you need anything, feel free to reach out.â Then, he walked away.
Elysia watched him leave, deep in thought. It would be great if Justin was willing to help her with tutoring. However, she had already borrowed his notes, which made her feel like she owed him.
If she asked him to help a Class 6 student, she felt she could never repay that debt. She suspected that Justin had feelings for her, but she didnât feel the same way. Accepting his kindness without giving something in return was not like Elysia.
She wished she was wrong about his feelings. After sharing some of Justinâs notes with her classmates, Elysia grabbed her backpack and was about to leave the classroom when Grace suddenly came up to her.
With her head down, Grace nervously clutched her uniform and said, âUm...â
âHmm?â
âCould you lend me a notebook? Iâll return it tomorrow!â
Elysia recognized Grace as a transfer student from Class 2 who had been bullied by their classmates. Elysia had once stepped in to help her, but Grace hadnât appreciated it.
Elysia usually held grudges, but since this request was about studies, Elysia asked, âWhich subject do you need?â
âMath.â
Elysia picked up her math notebook and handed it to Grace, saying, âFortunately, it hasnât been borrowed yet. Please take good care of it.â
âGreat! Thank you.â Grace quickly took the notebook and left.
When Elysia was back, she saw Scott animatedly talking to a middleâaged man in a suit. When Scott spotted her, he waved excitedly. âElysia, come here!â
Elysia raised an eyebrow and walked over to them. Scott introduced her with a flattering smile, âMr. Larkin, this is my daughter, Elysia. Elysia, this is Mr. Larkin. He owns an interior design company.â
Elysia thought to herself, âThis man must have been sent by Nicole. But why is Scott acting so friendly? Isnât Larkin just the owner of an interior design company? Scott wouldnât need to flatter him so much.â
Scott thought, âThis company is connected to Zane, which changes everything.â
When Caius had come by before, Scott was surprised but welcomed him warmly once he learned about the Caiusâs connection with Zane.
Scott thought, âAfter all, Caius represents Zane. Elysiaâs relationship with Zane is not simple! Otherwise, why would Zane go to such lengths to arrange the decoration of her room?â
Scott wasnât even sure which part of the house needed work, but it was always smart to treat guests well.
Before arriving, Caius had thought a lot about this meeting, and when he saw the charming girl in front of him, everything fell into place.

+13 Caius thought, âNo wonder Zane asked to meet me personally; the connection between Zane and this charming girl must be strong!
âAlthough Zane called her a friend, what kind of friend would require such special treatment? And her beauty is a clear hint: Zane is interested in her. I must make sure sheâs happy!â
âMs. Rosewood, itâs a pleasure to meet you. Mr. Hartley sent me to help with your home design,â Caius greeted with a big smile.
Elysia raised an eyebrow. âZane?*
Caius felt more confident when she called Zane by name, especially since others were respectful and called him Mr. Hartley.
âYes, Ms. Rosewood. May I ask which area you wish to renovate? Iâd love a tour.â
âMy bedroom.â
Scott frowned slightly. âIsnât the bedroom already done? Why change it?â
âMaybe youâve forgotten, dad, that room wasnât mine. I want to change it to match my style. Is that not allowed?â
Scott genuinely had forgotten. That room had been used by Emma. He remembered that a lot of money had been spent on the custom furniture.
Yet, Elysia wanted a change, and it was hard to argue with her wishes, especially with a guest present.
Scott said, âYou can change it however you like, no matter the cost, as long as it makes you happy!â
Caius chimed in just in time, âMr. Rosewood, you clearly care for your daughter; however, Mr. Hartley has already covered the cost.â
This meant Scott wouldnât have to pay a dime, which made him secretly happy. Still, he kept a serious expression, saying, âPlease thank Mr. Hartley for that; however, these costs should be mine to handle.â
Caius hesitated. Elysia interrupted, âPlease, Mr. Larkin, my father will take care of the cost.â
Scottâs eyes widened in shock. He thought, âElysia is truly a reckless child! I only meant to pretend to refuse, because Caius could never really turn down Zaneâs offer!
âNow, Caius might actually refuse Zaneâs money, leaving me to cover the costs!â
Scott could only smile and say, âThen Iâll trouble you to pass on that message, Mr. Larkin.â
Caius nodded.
After showing Caius around the room, Scott escorted him out of the Rosewood residence. Once back, Scott looked serious as he turned to Elysia and asked, âWhy did you speak up?â
Elysia understood he was upset because she had turned down Zaneâs generous offer and could have saved Scott some money.
But she just wouldnât cater to his wishes.
Looking around the bedroom, she couldnât help but wonder why Scott would spend so much on a foster child but be so stingy with his own daughter. âWasnât this your suggestion, Dad?â
Scott was caught off guard. Although those words were his, he hadnât meant it that way. What could have been free had now turned into a major expense.
