offer. "There's no need to trouble you further. I'll take this one. It's perfect," she said, her voice tight with emotion.
Rose observed Clarissa's tension with a pang of sadness. "Ready-made garments may not offer the same fit as bespoke ones. There might be some adjustments needed. I recommend trying it on in the fitting room for the best result. If alterations are necessary, I'll take care of it." Clarissa hesitated briefly before she walked into the fitting room. 9 Chapter 0442 âIâm guessing the Halloween party. We have been discussing costumes and food.â âAlec said she wants them to go a disco ball and a 70s person.â I looked at her to gage her reaction.
Penny tossed her head back and laughed. âTloved that idea. It was by far one of the better ones she tossed out there.â âWhat else did she want?â I asked.
âEither she was going to be the volleyball from Castaway and make him Tom Hanks or be Juno.â
âThose are horrible ideas.â Shaking my head, we walked back to the livingroom and sat down.
âThere was some more sexual ones but we all decided to go as sornething funny.â Penny had made the recliners | hers. There was pillows lining it all the edges. Cups and snacks were piled neatly on the end table and her computer was within arms reach.
âThe Moon Goddess was funny?â I asked turning on the T.V.
âBetter than the gumball machine she wanted me to be.â Penny pulled up a blanket as Friends started playing. By the time I looked over at the next commercial, she was passed out.
Wanting to be helpful, I got up and picked up the livingroom, did the dishes and got the laundry rotated.
There was some cleaning stuff out so | went ahead and cleaned the bathrooms. I had just finished folding the blankets when the doorbell rang.
âWhat?â Penny shot up, looking confused.
âLooks like Alec and Ice are here.â I tried to hide my laughter as I opened the door.
âHey!â Ice smiled as she came in. Alec was holding a few different bags and took them straight to the kitchen.
âOh no! I was going to do some cleaning before you got here.â Penny frowned.
âAlready did it.â I said as I went into the kitchen with Alec.
âYou can come do my house next.â Ice laughed as the girls came in.
âThe builders have finished putting in all the cabinets and shit. Our hour is a giant dust collection.â Alec was pulling the food out. He placed two salads in front of the girls and him and I each got a steak.
âI canât wait to see it!â Penny looked excited. âI'm surprised you managed to do it all by yourself.
Usually, I have to do it all for you.â âHey!â Ice faked looking hurt. I was mid way into a beer and choked on it.
Beer came out my nose, making my eyes water.
âShe isnât wrong.â I laughed as I cleaned my face.
âIf it wasnât for me, you wouldnât have even made it to fifteen years old.â Penny opened her salad and took a bite.
âSend your ass back to the orphanage.â Ice grumbled. âI did some stuff!â Gi | âYou did. You gave me all the information and I organized, created a plan and submitted it. Then I did the followup checks and daily set ups.â Penny looked at Ice like she dared her to argue.
âWhatever. I was running my own shop.â âSpeaking of which, I am going to need a tattoo once our babies are born.â I said to her.
âWhat are you going to get?â Ice asked, eagerly.
âI'was thinking about their footprints down my arm or something.â âWith three of them, that would be |
really cute.â Ice agreed.
âYeah, that is what I am going for....cute.â Rolling my eyes, I just finished my beer off and got started on my food.
âAlec said you have something you wanted to discuss with us?â Penny asked after we were quiet for awhile.
âYeah so.... we found out we are having agirl.â âThatâs so exciting!â Pennyâs eyes got wide as she smiled.
âThank you. We wanted to have a handful of kids so Alec will have another chance for a boy.â âHey!
Girls are just as capable as men.â Penny pointed her fork at him.
âI know that but I'm not going to raise my daughter like Kristen was raised. If she wants to fight, that will be her choice. If she wants to be a princess and get pampered, thatâs okay too.â Part of me was a little put off by that but I understood where he was coming from. Ice didnât have the best upbringing and had very little choice on her life. He wanted to make sure his daughter was given the options her mother didnât have.
âSo, what is the question?â I asked.
âWell, I was wanting to see if you guys have talked about baby names? We were discussing some and [ was thinking about naming our daughter, | Adalynn.â
That surprised me a little. We have talked about baby name some but nothing more than a few suggestions: Putting another bite in my mouth, I just looked at Ice. Alec and Penny didnât say anything but watched us. Ice was clearly nervous but I wasnât sure why.
âWhy are you so nervous?â I finally asked.
âIâm not nervous!â She rolled her eyes and looked away from me.
âI can see it all over your face.â I said, calling her out on her bullshit.
âI just didnât know if you wanted to name your daughter after our mother.â âI'havenât really put much thought into baby names. Iâve been busy doing other things.â âWell, you should. Your babies will be here sooner than later and since there are three, you need to be ready.â Ice gave me a pointed look.
âIâm trying to make sure the world is a safer place and their mother isnât in danger.â I challenged her back.
âWe really have only thrown names out there but we havenât had a serious conversation about what to name them.â Penny said, trying to defuse any tension.
âIce, if you want to name your daughter Adalynn, thatâs fine by me.â I tried to sound as neutral as possible.
âAre you sure? We can look at other names.â Ice looked at me uneasily.
âIâm sure. Adalynn what?â I asked.
âAdalynn Grace.â yâ
