Chapter 551
Tattooed Luna
Chapter 0551 âWhy am I so nervous for this?â | asked. We were driving to Coltâs pack.
âThis whole situation is weird. I understand why he would take a mate minutes after he loses one but to have a luna ceremony this quickly?â Alec mirrored my unease about this.
âI havenât even had a luna ceremony.â âThatâs right. We should get on that.â Alec put his hand on my thigh. âI like this dress.â Penny gave me a wrap dress that was flowy to my mid-thigh. The whole thing was slightly frustrating to figure out. The term wrap was quite literal as had to put it on like a robe and wrap it around me to tie it. However, what Alec didnât know, I put a little something fun under it.
âWhat's the point? Itâs been so long and so much has happened that it would just feel somewhat like a waste of money.â âIdonât think so. You deserve one.â Alec pulled up to the helicopter pad at 7:37am. Not even Colt was here yet.
Since it was just the four of us going, I didnât have to worry about anyone else being late.
âIâm surprised we are here first.â âMe too. How's the ankle?â Alec looked down at my heels. My ankle was still a little bruised but it felt normal.
âReady to dance circles around you.â Leaning over, I grabbed his tie and pulled him towards me. The kiss I placed on his lips was to make sure he knew what we was going to get tonight.
Colt pulled up beside us as I finally let him go. âDidnât get enough last night?â Alec straighten up his shirt as I started to get out.
Stepping out of the car, I leaned down at him. âI'll never get enough but since I can still walk today, I think you still have work to do.â Alec narrowed his eyes at me.
Laughing, I shut the door and headed towards the helicopter. âHey!â Penny waved as they met us walking to the helicopter.
âThat dress looks amazing on you!â âThankyou! I'm not sure it's a winter dress but it does fit well.â âI'm sorry, all I got was it would be indoor and these functions are always so warm.â Colt opened the door for Penny to get in and then helped me climb in. After Alec got in, he got in and shut the door.
We all put our headsets on and buckled up.
âIf you donât mind, Colt is writing an article for the local paper about the bar.
Would you mind if I asked you some questions since you are co-owner?â Penny pulled out a pen and paper from her purse.
Her eyes looked hopeful so I didnât feel like I could turn her down. âwell, technically Colt is the soul owner.â Alec leaned back and put his arm around me. His thumb was rubbing iny arm, trying to keep my nerves at bay.
We only had about an hour long flight so this would help pass the time.
However, I was never one for interviews.
âTâknow but please?â Penny begged.
âSure.â Penny let out a little squeak of excitement. âPerfect! Okay, first questions. It takes different skills to be able to open and manage a business.
How has owning this bar challenged you?â âI didnât realize growing up meant dying inside so I figured I might as well drink and have a good time at it.â Alec actually snorted in laughter, Colt choked on the water he was drinking and Penny gave me a very disapproving look.
âKristen!â âFine, let's see. Owning the bar and challenging me...â I had to think about this one. It really hasnât been that challenging. âI guess learning to balance other obligations and the barâs obligations.â âI think the most challenging thing for you was to teach your facial expression to use their inside voices.â
Colt retorted.
âOh yeah! I like that answer better.â Nodding quickly, Penny sighed deeply and Alec actually laughed.
âHow would you say you learn the best?â Penny ignored us and kept going.
âThe fucking hard way.â âIâm just going to make up answers for you.â Penny glared at me and put her pen and paper away.
âThat might be best. Ice doesnât exactly have the personality we would put in front of the cameras anyway.â Colt shook his head at me and pulled Penny next to him to comfort her.
âI'am a fucking delight and itâs all you fuckers that need to gain a sense of humor.â Crossing my arms, Alec was actually enjoying this.
âI honestly donât know why I even asked. You haven't given a straight answer in years during an interview.â
Penny looked at her watch and looked out the window.
âYou are the public perfect personalit- You are the type of person we would put in front of the camera to answer question the correct way and I am the person behind the scenes making all the decision. That is slightly inappropriate and has a loose mouth.â I tried to make her feel better.
âYou're not wrong.â Colt started fidgeting.
âWhy are you restless?â I asked him.
Colt looked defensive. âWhat do you think I am restless?â âyou keep moving. This whole thing is making you nervous too, huh?â
âTjust donât like it.â Penny looked up at Colt. âIt just happened so fast.â She put her hand nn his leg. âI think it wouldnât be so nerve racking if we would have went to a funeral or there would have been at least a month between her death and another luna ceremony. I know itâs not unheard of but damn.â
âShe was such a sweet lady too.â I said as the helicopter started dropping. âI hate this part.â Alec pulled me close as I tried to sit still. Each time it dropped, my stomach would go into my throat.
âItâs not that bad.â Colt looked at me amused.
My claws were literally digging into Alec, âWe are literally falling out of the sky.â
