Chapter 8

Everyone was stunned while watching Nathan count down.

“What is he doing? How dare he curse the mayor!”

“He’s in great trouble, and even Mr. Walter won’t be able to protect him. Mr. Hopp is furious!”

“Look at Mr. Sanders; his face is so dark. This brat offended him greatly!”

When Nathan blurted out the last number, Gerard suddenly covered his chest, and his face turned dark. Soon, he yelled and fell unconsciously on the chair.

“Help me…” Gerard stretched his hand hard and shouted the last two words to Nathan.

Carlos was terrified and frozen. He hurriedly gave first aid to Gerard, but nothing worked out. After a while, Carlos was covered in a cold sweat.

lf this medicine really caused Mr. Hopp’s death, he would never be forgiven!

“This rarest herb is an excellent tonic, and your medicine is perfect. But Mr. Hopp can’t drink this medicine because he doesn’t have a disease. Therefore, this tonic could actually kill him,” Nathan explained.

Everyone’s expressions suddenly changed. They didn’t expect this young man to be a better doctor than Carlos.

Carlos cleared his throat and said, “Young mister, can you help Mr. Hopp?”

“I’m not interested,” Nathan said.

He had just said that Gerard would die if he took that medicine, but Gerard didn’t listen to him.

Why would he help now?

Carlos hurriedly said, “Sir, I was very reckless just now, so I said something rude… If you could cure him, please help me. I will be very grateful.”

“Mr. Hopp has been conscientious over the years and made great contributions to the development of Mimar. He is a pillar of society. Would you please give him a chance to live?”

Then, everyone started to beg Nathan to cure Gerard.

Miller also smiled. “Mr. Nathan, they didn’t know you are capable, please don’t mind them and help Mr.

Hopp. l have many projects that require Mr. Hopp’s policies…”

Nathan walked to Gerard and kicked him in the chest.

Gerard was kicked to the wall, and then he spewed out some blood and the medicine he just took.

“How dare you! You don’t want to cure Mr. Hopp and even hit him?!” Gerard’s bodyguards were all furious and prepared to act.

“Stop!” Gerard suddenly felt energized again, he shouted angrily and made everyone stop.

Carlos was extremely shocked. Gerard looked pale after spewing the black blood, but his voice was loud and firm. It was apparent that he was nearly cured.

Gerard coughed. “He is saving me, not hitting me!”

Carlos hurriedly walked to the side of the black blood, picked up a bit with a piece of paper, put it under his nose, and smelled it, then, he said in shock, “Poisonous?!”

“Good for you to notice it… Yes, it’s poisonous, and the poison is not ordinary,” Nathan glanced at Carlos in surprise.

A notorious guy in Devendill Prison created this poison, and it could kill anyone unnoticeably.

“Master Evans, please accept my gratitude!” Gerard bowed to Nathan.

Nathan nodded and said, “All right. Go back and recover gradually. Don’t forget to be very careful with your food.”

Gerard nodded with a flash of coldness in his eyes. He should indeed investigate the people around him after he returns.

Carlos walked up to Nathan in embarrassment and smiled. “Master Evans, your medical skills are extraordinary. I’m sorry that l was so rude to you… I hope you can give me a chance to be your student. I want to follow you to learn medical skills…”

Everyone froze when they heard Carlos’s words. As one of the country’s most famous doctors, he was asking to be Nathan’s student!

“Maybe next time,” Nathan refused without hesitation.

Miller smiled. He knew Nathan had such a unique character that nobody dared to provoke him. Each of those vicious prisoners of Devendill Prison could become a country’s nightmare, but they were still obedient when they saw Nathan.

In sudden, Nathan received a call from Hannah.

“Nathan, someone is forcing Natalie to drink. Get over here now and pick her up, you b”stard! The Johnson family will never forgive you if something goes wrong!” Hannah roared.

Nathan asked for the address and hung up the phone, and then he asked Miller to send him there immediately.

He and Natalie were a couple. Even though nothing had happened between them, he couldn’t watch the others bully her.

After being kicked out of the Evans family, Nathan still remembered that the Johnson family helped him and his dad. When he was very upset, Natalie gave him a lollipop. Until now, he could still remember the sweetness of that lollipop.

Meanwhile, Natalie had already drunk a lot of wine. Her eyes were blurred, and her pretty face was blushed, revealing an irresistible charm. Hannah sat next to her worriedly.

“Mr. Fisher, I’ve drunk these three glasses of wine. Can you repay the 20 million you owe my company?” Natalie asked.

A small leader of the Negino Commerce, Pedro Fisher, sat on the chair with a smile. “You’ve had three glasses, so I’ll repay you 3 million.”

Natalie was stunned. “You fooled me?!”

Pedro said in surprise, “Ms. Natalie, of course not! I said I would pay back the money if you drank, but I didn’t say how much.”

He suddenly put a bottle of wine on the table and said, “If you drink the whole bottle, I’ll repay your 20 million at once!”

Natalie tried hard to blink. It was already a disaster for her to drink three glasses, she wouldn’t be conscious if she drank the whole bottle.

She shook her head and said, “Mr. Fisher, I really can’t drink anymore. Forget it… Just pay me the three million first!”

“Since you are here, how can you not drink? You must drink even if you don’t want to!” Pedro’s eyes flashed coldly, and he said with a wicked smile.

He opened the wine bottle, and the pungent smell made Natalie want to vomit.

Hannah hurriedly said, “Mr. Fisher, please… Natalie really can’t drink anymore!”
