Chapter 492 Arrest You
Wooing My Ex-Wife
Cedrick narrowed his eyes as rage bubbled in his heart.
However, when he saw Craig coming forward to greet him, he put on a mocking expression.
âWhy are you here so early in the morning, Mr. Jenson?â With a smile, Craig swiftly arrived before Cedrick and nodded politely.
Cedrick glanced at Charles and uttered casually, âNico received a tip. Apparently, Charles illegally crossed the national border during the past year. Iâve decided to apprehend him personally as itâs rare to have evidence of his wrongdoing.â
Craigâs smile froze slightly. âIllegally crossing the national border? That sounds like an international case, Mr. Jenson. Shouldnât you be investigating the matter with foreign institutions?â
âYouâre right. However, Charles and I are old friends. Itâs been a while since we met, so Iâll bring him to the secret interrogation room first to grill him. Itâll be the perfect warmup for him.â
The edges of Craigâs lips curved upward again. âYouâre the boss of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
You donât need to tell me who you plan to question.â
Cedrick glanced at Craig indifferently. âYouâre the leader of the Newton family and Charlesâ older brother, so I thought I should let you know.â
âSure.â Craig lowered his head respectfully.
Without delay, Cedrick sauntered toward Charles, who was kneeling unsteadily. Tutting, he remarked, âWhat did he do wrong? Why is he already beaten up before I interrogate him?â
Craigâs expression remained unchanged. âHe broke the family rules, so I punished him. I whipped him at few times and forced him to kneel here briefly. It wonât kill him.â
Silently, Cedrick approached Charles with his hands in his pockets.
Charles was reaching his limit as he aimed his blurry vision at Cedrick before looking at Craig.
Glowering, he spoke in a guilty tone. âWhatâs the meaning of this, Mr. Jenson?â
Cedrick didnât say a word while Nico explained, âYou committed a felony by illegally crossing the national border. Letâs go. Weâll bring you to the interrogation room youâre most familiar with.â
Charlesâ pale countenance shifted slightly as a smirk formed on his face. âYou accepted my apology in front of Gwen last night, Cedrick. Yet, you came to arrest me the next morning. What a two-faced b*stard you are.â
Rage swirled in Cedrickâs eyes as he frowned at Charles.
-Craig observed the duoâs expressions at the side quietly.
Charles continued to mock, âIf Gwen learns youâre using an official excuse to seek revenge against me, what do you think sheâll do?â
Scowling, Cedrick kicked Charlesâ clean left shoulder. âI shall reward your insult by using all the tools in the interrogation room on you tonight.â
Groaning in pain, Charles collapsed on the ground, unable to sit up.
Cedrick turned his sight away coldly. âBring him away, Nico.â
In response, Nico gestured at a few subordinates to carry Charles away.
âWait,â stated Craig.
#5 Bonus Knitting his eyebrows, Cedrick glared at him coldly. He disliked people interrupting his official business.
Smiling ingratiatingly, Craig explained, âIn addition to the countryâs laws, he violated the Newton familyâs rules, too. Can you apprehend him at noon instead so I can interrogate him for a few more hours?â
Cedrickâs expression darkened further.
Nico hastily replied, âYou know Mr. Jenson rarely apprehends felons personally, Mr. Craig. Yet, youâre asking him to leave empty-handed before returning here at noon.â
Grinning politely, Craig responded, âItâs my fault for being inconsiderate. How about this? Youâre free to drink tea in the living room while I settle the Newton familyâs crucial matter in half an hour, Mr. Jenson.
Once Iâve gotten what I want from Charles, youâre free to take him away.â
Nico and Cedrick went silent in unison. No doubt Craigâs suspicious of our arrival. If we reject him again, heâll know somethingâs up.
A stalemate ensued. Meanwhile, Charles, who was lying weakly on the ground, almost trembled.
reflexively.
Half an hour⦠With that tight deadline, Craig will definitely employ the most ruthless methods to torture me. Iâm almost at my limit, and thereâs no telling if I can prevent myself from spilling the truth while losing consciousness. When his train of thought ended there, he endured the pain and crawled toward Craig.
Then, he clutched his brotherâs pants and pleaded, âYou must believe me, Craig. I didnât steal Karlâs keys or anything from the top floor. I really didnâtâ¦â
Craigâs expression shifted slightly as he glanced at Cedrick.
Cedrick was also looking at him, though inquisitively. âWhat unknown secret is hiding on the top floor? I canât believe you forbid your family from entering a section of the house. What are you doing, Craig?â
Once more, Craigâs expression shifted slightly before he kicked Charles forcefully.
The kick was much stronger than Cedrickâs. Charles rolled on the pebbled path multiple times, causing immense pain in his chest.
Upon stopping, he vomited a mouthful of blood and entered a half-conscious state.
âDonât listen to his nonsense, Mr. Jenson. Thereâs nothing important on the top floor. He stole something precious from my room, which is why I was punishing him. The Newton family hates theft among family members, you see,â explained Craig.
Calmly, Cedrick replied, âMhm. Stealing should be punished. Although, I think your punishment is too light. If it were me, I wouldâve chopped off his hands instead of whipping him.â
As he spoke, he glanced at Nico.
Nico understood his order and personally lifted Charles.
To his surprise, Charles bit him after sitting up.
âAre you a dog?â Wincing. Nico slapped Charlesâ countenance.
After Charles released Nicoâs hand, the latter pointed at the former furiously and ordered, âHow dare you bite me in front of Mr. Jenson and Mr. Craig! Consider your sins doubled! Do you still think youâre the leader of the Central Intelligence Agency? Quick, I want someone to cuff and take him away!â
His subordinates swiftly and skillfully put electronic handcuffs on Charles.
Then, they immediately dragged the half-conscious Charles away by his arms.
Before Craig could stop them, Charles had already beer stuffed into a vehicle violently. âMr. Jenson, donât you think thatâs-â
Patting Craigâs shoulder, Cedrick put on a fake smile. âIâll help you interrogate him about the object he stole from you, too. Donât worry. Iâll definitely break his limbs. Donât say Iâm not looking after my deputy director.â
Craig had no choice but to go along with it. âOf course not, Mr. Jenson. Youâre a magnanimous man who cares dearly about his subordinates.â
âIâm glad youâre aware of that.â Cedrick turned his cold gaze away and waved his hand.
Promptly, Nico led the soldiers out of the Newton residence.
Before Cedrick left, he turned his head back and reminded cautiously, âCommitting a crime isnât as heinous as continuing with the crime down that path. I hope the person the next time Iâm here to arrest wonât be you, Craig.â
The expression on Craigâs countenance shifted slightly. âDonât worry. I do things righteously, Mr.
Jenson. Iâm not that stupid to commit a crime knowingly.â
Disappointment swirled in Cedrickâs eyes as he simply replied, âGood.â
