Chapter 1112
Julian’s Stand-In Wife
Diana said through gritted teeth, âBe it Kayla or Cecilia, Iâm always the one you end up abandoning.â
That didnât change even after she became a mother.
âThings between Cecilia and I arenât what you think they are,â Julian said, his heart aching at Dianaâs words.
Finally, he said exasperatedly, âForget it.â
He waved his hands at the driver, signaling the driver to stop the car. âTil come to you right now. Wait for me and Iâll explain everything to you.â
âNo need,â Diana said, âIâm very strong.â
She had said it sarcastically. That was how Julian described her with when he suggested a divorce way back.
Youâre very strong.
You can live well even without me.
However, Kayla couldnât live without him.
It was the same now.
âCecilia canât live without you, but the twins and I will just return to the life we had in Stirling City without you.â
It had been three years. They had survived without him.
Dianaâs words were needles that it pierced Julianâs heart.
He now knew it was without a doubt that Diana had her memories back.
Before this, Julian simply felt grateful that Diana managed to survive the medicine Shiloh concocted for her. As for whether she truly regained her memories, that wasnât as important as her being alive.
It was only at this moment that the fact that Diana regained her memories became so clear to him.
Julian said hesitantly, âDianaâ¦â
When he was with Kayla, he had let Diana down.
However, Cecilia was different from Kayla.
He would never make the same mistake twice.
âDiana, calm down first.â
His voice turned solemn. âIâm not going to the Jarvisesâ residence anymore. I donât care what happens to Cecilia. Donât be sad. Donât even mention Kayla. The issue with Cecilia is completely different from what happened with Kayla.â
He added sincerely, âWait for me.â
The moment he said that, he opened the car door and ran toward Dianaâs apartment.
There were many people around, and a gust of strong wind blew past him.
Yet, nothing else mattered.
He could only see Diana standing right before him.
âWait for me,â he begged with all his heart. âPlease, wait for me. Donât be angry.â
His voice was as irresistible as a refreshing watermelon during a hot summer day, sweeping away all the irritation building up inside Diana. âOkay.â
She looked at Sean through the glass panel on the door. He was still standing at the elevator door.
She exhaled and said, âIâll wait for you.â
With that, she hung up and opened the emergency escape door. Sean turned around to look at her.
âDaddyâs not coming,â he said, eyes filled with disappointment.
The disappointment and pain felt by a child was way more heart-wrenching than that felt by a mother herself.
But at the same time, it also made a mother more rational.
She smiled and held Seanâs hand, and said tenderly, âWait a while longer. Daddy said heâll come.â
Sean looked doubtfulâas if he knew that was just a way for adults to lie to him. He was utterly disappointed.
âIâll take you downstairs to wait,â Diana said after a momentâs thought, as she punched the elevator button. â Sean, donât ever be disappointed in this world or in Daddy and Mommy. No matter what our relationship is like, Daddy and I really love you and Betty. Our love for both of you are the same.â
Sean kept silent upon hearing Dianaâs words. He simply held Dianaâs hand tighter.
The elevator slowly descended.
Very soon, they arrived at the lobby.
Diana looked around, but she didnât see any traces of Julian.
If he was still lying to her at this point⦠She wouldnât let him go so easily with just a few punches.
