Chapter 1139
Julian’s Stand-In Wife
Julianâs Stand-In Wife chapter 1139 She couldnât bear to see the scars on his hands, and her mood had noticeably soured. To distract her, Julian shifted the conversation to Noel.
âHave you figured out how to persuade Noel? Will he really accept Cecilia?â
Diana instantly perked up at the mention of this topic. âIâve already persuaded him.â
Julian was skeptical. ââ¦Youâve already persuaded him?â
They had been together the whole time, and Diana hadnât had a chance to speak with Noel. How could she have persuaded him?
âYes,â Diana replied confidently. âHeâs already met Cecilia.â
As she spoke, Diana took out her phone and showed Julian a picture. âLook, Cecilia sent this to me.
They took this photo not long ago.â
While Julian was engrossed in examining the photo, Diana said, âI have to admit, Noelâs quite crazy.
After he finally came to terms with everything, he didnât even care about Sue anymore. He went straight to where Cecilia was staying, and shouted with a loudspeaker, âCecilia, I love you!'â
Diana vividly described the situation, as if she had been there herself.
Seeing Julianâs furrowed brows and evident confusion, she quickly explained, âI received a call from Cecilia when I was buying the ice packs just now. She told me about it.â
Julian asked, âEven after she hit you so many times, you donât hate her at all?â
He found it incredible that their relationship had become so friendly.
âThere was never any love or hatred between us, really,â Diana explained. âCecilia⦠She treated me poorly before, but it was well-deserved.â
Diana admitted that she had been overly presumptuous at the beginning. Cecilia would never have fallen ill if it werenât for her meddling.
âBut now, everything between us is water under the bridge,â Diana said. She felt that the slaps she received were worth it.
âSheâs quite straightforward.â
âShe is,â Julian agreed, recalling what Cecilia had told him earlier. He repeated it for Diana. âShe even said some really harsh things about me in front of me, like she was blind for liking meâ¦â
He sounded quite upset, almost as if he were complaining to Diana.
Diana was amused. âReally?â
âReally!â Julian almost wanted to swear to prove he wasnât lying. âShe even said that Noel is a hundred times better than me.â
Diana nodded, playing along with Julian. She said matter-of- factly, âNoel really is a hundred times better than you, though.â
Julian became flustered. âWhat! Say that again!â
He leaned in and pressed her, but he was cautious not to hurt her, maintaining a slight distance.
His voice was low as he asked, âDo you really think Noel is a hundred times better than me?â
His gaze seemed to suggest that if Diana nodded, he would immediately devour her.
Of course, Diana didnât dare to joke with him in the car anymore.
âNo, I donât.â
She smiled, and hooked her arms around his neck. âHoney, Iâm just joking with you.â
She hugged him, and said sincerely, âIn my heart, no one can compare to you. My goal is to be with you, our two little ones, and run this family together. No one will ever separate us again!â
âReally?â
âReally!â
Julian felt his heart almost melt into a puddle. There was deep affection in his eyes as he said, âDarling, I love you.â
âI love you too.â
They scheduled their remarriage and registration for the next day.
The day was sunny and bright. Because of their happiness, even the chilly wind from the past felt gentler, inviting them to breathe in its joy.
After exchanging their divorce papers for marriage certificates at the city hall, Diana and Julian left smiling widely.
