Chapter 1190
Julian’s Stand-In Wife
Diana placed Seanâs hand on her belly, and said, âWhen Mommyâs belly gets a little bigger, youâll be able to feel it.â
âFeel it?â Betty looked curious. âWhy can we feel it?â
âThe little baby will grow and swim inside Mommyâs belly, just like you and Sean did. It will have tiny feet and tiny hands,â Diana explained, her mind echoing back to the time when she was pregnant.
Back thenâ¦
It was actually a very happy time.
She used to run around in Stirling City every day, with the two little ones in her belly. It was a bit tiring, but whenever she touched her belly and sensed something move inside, she felt like she was filled with something special.
âMommy, you should rest,â Sean said, interrupting Dianaâs reminiscence.
He pulled the blanket for her.
âWhen youâre not in pain anymore, Iâll take Betty to sit on the sofa outside for a while.â
This was a VIP ward, which was also a suite. Beside the room with the sickbed where Diana stayed, there was also a space resembling a living room. There were sofas, televisions, and everything one could ask for.
Diana nodded; she was indeed a little tired.
Andâ¦
The person she most wanted to see hadnât arrived yet.
When Julian returned, there were some things she wanted to discuss with him-just not in front of the children.
So, she nodded and said, âIf you need anything, just call me.â
Then, she held Sean again. âSean, about what your daddy did just nowâ¦â
âItâs okay. Dad explained it to me,â Sean reassured Diana.â He wants to tap into my talent with computers, and see how quickly I can crack security systems under extreme conditions.â
Still, Diana didnât hide her disapproval of Julianâs actions.â But his actions and methods were a bit drastic. Sean, tell Mommy. Are you angry?â
Sean didnât hide his feelings, either. âIâm angry, but this doesnât concern you.â
He patted Dianaâs hand. âMommy, you should rest. Iâm over three years old, and I can take care of myself.â
Diana was speechless. A child who was just over three years old was giving her the impression of being mature beyond his years.
âSo, at such a young age, you donât need Mommy anymore?â
âItâs not that,â Sean frowned, a bit exasperated about how clingy Diana was being. âYouâre not feeling well, so you need to rest.â
It meant he wouldnât discuss anything else with Diana now. Nothing was more important than rest.
Diana was deeply touched by her sonâs concern.
âThank you, Sean. After your daddy comes in, Mommy will scold him for you!â
Sean nodded, and didnât say anything more. He turned and held Bettyâs hand, and they left the room.
It was precisely at this moment that Julian entered. Seeing the twins, he felt a bit guilty, especially towards Sean.
Julian crouched and said, âSean, Iâm sorry. Whatever I do to you in the future, Iâll definitely discuss it with you in advance. It Seanâs eyebrows remained furrowed, and he said seriously to Julian, âI hope you keep your word.â
Julian breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this. It was good that his son wasnât furious with him.
The next moment, Sean asserted dominantly, âThis time, Mommy is fine. If anything happens to her, Iâll never forgive you.â
âThat kid says the harshest words in the calmest tone,â Julian said. He served Diana some fruit as he described his conversation with Sean.
Diana didnât want to eat, and told him to set the apple aside.
âIn the future, you canât treat Sean like that anymore.â
âI know,â Julian admitted. âWhen you had that incident, I reflected on it. No matter how outstanding our child is, I shouldnât be as strict as my grandfather was.â
When dealing with children, a balance of firmness and gentleness was necessary.
Diana finally nodded in relief.
Then, her face turned slightly red, and she lowered her voice as she asked, âDid Vans tell you everything?â
She spoke in a hushed tone, afraid that the children might overhear.
Julian also lowered his voice as he replied, âYes, he did.â
He assured her, âIâll definitely hold back for the next three months.â
