Chapter 1256
Julian’s Stand-In Wife
Julianâs Stand-In Wife chapter 1256 Like a switch that had been flipped, Julian instantly became alert. His expression changed, shaking off his previous nonchalance.
âOliver, what do you mean by that?â
Julian looked tense, and even his jawline seemed sharper than usual. Oliver couldnât help but laugh. It had been a while since he felt this relaxed, and even Julianâs reaction made him feel a bit giddy.
Julian seemed to think that Oliver was laughing because of him. However, it was a gentle and good-
natured laugh.
âAre you not only interested in Diana, but also in meâ¦?â
Oliverâs laughter grew louder, so much that his entire frame shook. He had to try to suppress his laughter. He smiled at Julian, saying, âYou donât have that much appeal.â
Julianâs shoulders slumped instantly. âWell, I was afraid that since you couldnât win over my wife, youâd try to win me over instead as a last-ditch effort.â
âDoes having a wife make you so special?â
It seemed Julian only talked about Diana from day to night.
Oliver didnât expect Julianâs response.
âOf course! Itâs the best!â Julian bragged.
He had worked hard to win Diana back and remarried her, so why shouldnât he proudly talk about his wife?
âI have a wife too,â Oliver said; he couldnât stand Julianâs smug demeanor.
He couldnât let Julian be victorious in both business and love.
But after saying that, he regretted it. He did have a wife, but his situation with Julian was different.
âBut my wife might leave me at any moment,â Oliver added, which instantly made Julian choke on his words.
At that moment, Julian sensed Oliverâs helplessness, and his expression became serious. âWhatâs going on?â
âWhy do I feel like you care more about my wife than I do when I mention her?â
Oliver asked.
âOf course,â Julian said boldly. âIf your wife doesnât leave you, it reduces my number of rivals.â
He had figured it out. Oliverâs interesting remark earlier was a way to rile him up when he saw that Julian was romantically content.
With this in mind, Julian became even more enthusiastic. He couldnât help but pat Oliverâs shoulder.
âCome on, spill the beans.â
Two handsome men were now huddled together in a corridor corner, whispering in secrecy. With their behavior, it was hard not to stir up peopleâs imaginations.
Oliver could sense the increasing curiosity of those around them.
He decided to push Julian away with his finger.
âAhem, give me some space.â
He was embarrassed.
The fact that Oliver was feeling embarrassed in front of him was quite surprising to Julian. The distance between them had suddenly shrunk, and any past animosities seemed to have disappeared.
âYou actually seem quite endearing when youâre embarrassed,â Julian said, surprised.
Oliverâs face turned red from his somewhat ambiguous tone.
The next second, however, his sharp tongue left Oliver speechless.
âI finally understand why you canât win over my wife. You two are fundamentally similar, and my wife likes someone who is shameless and strong like me. You, on the other handâ¦are too gentle. My wife doesnât like that.â
Oliver was stunned. âDo you have to keep provoking me?â
âNo, thatâs not it.â Julian waved his hand quickly. He didnât want to invite a love rival for himself. âCome on, why is your wife about to leave you?â
âMy fatherâ¦â Oliver paused, casting a glance at Julian. After a brief hesitation, he decided to lay it all out. âMy father did some unforgivable things to my wife.â
Julian instantly tensed. âFather-in-law and daughter-in-law⦠Seriously? The Channings wouldnât go that far, would they?â
