Chapter 1322
Julian’s Stand-In Wife
Diana burst out laughing at Ceciliaâs question.
âWould you believe me if I said that I donât know?â
Cecilia was stunned for a moment. âYou dared to get pregnant again before thinking things through?
Doesnât the internet advise you not to get pregnant before you think things through? Whatâs more, youâre carrying twins. Are you really prepared to have four children all of a sudden?â
âActually, sometimes, being muddleheaded is pretty good,â Diana said. She glanced at Cecilia before slowly shifting her gaze to Fanny. âBeing muddleheaded certainly feels better than thinking through every single thing.
âSometimes, being happy is the most important thing in life.
âThinking too much and too clearly often makes you obsessed.
âThat would in turn make you feel less happy.
âWhatâs moreâ¦
âWho could be prepared for everything in life?
âWhen you can accept something, youâll be able to wait for it to happen naturally.â
Cecilia looked confused as she listened to Diana. Many of her life philosophies came from surfing the internet, and she had never experienced any for herself. Living vicariously from what she saw online made up her so-called life experience. In reality, only experiencing it for yourself will it feel real.
That was life.
Cecilia was clearly stuck in the theoretical phase, still thinking that everything was defined in black and white.
Alas, few things in life were so.Books Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
Fanny had richer experiences in life, and agreed with Diana. âYouâre right.â
She listened to Diana, and didnât eat the raw fish anymore. Like Diana, she only ate food that was cooked thoroughly. Between the choice of fruit juice and red wine, she chose the former.
It seemed she cared a lot about her potential pregnancy.
âI never expected myself to be pregnant, certainly not at this point in timeâuntil you suddenly said I might be. I was a little resistant to the idea at the start, but now, I want to protect the baby inside me. I want to go home quickly and do a pregnancy test.â
Fanny didnât feel ready yet. Yet, somehow, the prospect of being a mother gave her joy.
The aroma of the food drifted into her nose. It comforted her, giving her great pleasure.
âLetâs quickly eat, then,â Diana said, feeling happy for Fanny. âWeâll send you back after weâre done.â
Cecilia nodded too. âYes, both you and Diana have to be taken good care of. Iâll send you two home before going back myself.â
âDonât go home first,â Diana said.
She couldnât forget about things between Cecilia and Noel. It sounded like Cecilia had gravely misunderstood Noel, so she wanted to mediate things between them.
âI kept your bag and called Julian just now, asking him to prepare dinner. Stay for dinner before going home.â
âIâm not going,â Cecilia rejected Diana with a shake of her head. âMy mom refuses to let me talk to Julian.â
She stuck her tongue out.
âIn fact, she doesnât even let me hang out with you. Whatever it is, she wants me to keep my distance from the Fulchers. I think itâs probably because sheâs not happy after my engagement with Julian ended on a sour note.â
If it werenât for Fanny, Diana couldnât invite Cecilia out for shopping, not to mention sitting here and having a meal at a restaurant.
What Cecilia said made sense.
Diana didnât find her rude for that. In fact, it made her like Cecilia even more. âThatâs fine. Weâll have a chance to meet again next time. Weâll avoid drawing your momâs attention.â
Cecilia chuckled, and downed up her fruit juice in one gulp. âI agree!â
However, she added, âBut! No Noel next time.â
She didnât want to see him ever again.
âYou donât want to resolve your misunderstanding with him?â Diana asked.
