Chapter 1354
Julian’s Stand-In Wife
Julian crouched, and looked straight at Betty. âOf course. Itâs important that youâre happy, Betty.â
âThatâs good.â Bettyâs bright eyes glistened with unshed tears as she opened the door to her room.
âPlease leave, then.â
Julian was stunned.
âIâll be happy once you leave,â Betty said as she stared at Julian with her big, bright eyes.
She was waiting for his response.
Julian immediately felt defeated. âBetty, Iâ¦â
He had hoped that Betty would come in handy to coax his wife.
As it turned out, Betty wouldnât even allow him through her door and was heartlessly chasing him out.
If he didnât leave, Bettyâs tears would fall.
Julian didnât get it. âAre you upset because I came into your room?â
Yesterday, Betty was still his thoughtful little darling. Yet today, why did he feel like a criminal who had offended her?
Betty nodded. âYes!â
Julian was flabbergasted. What on earth did he do to offend her?
Upon seeing Julian still stunned, Betty urged, âHurry up! You already said you wanted to see Mommy, my sisters in her tummy, and me happy. Now that Iâve given you the chance to make me happy, why arenât you taking it?â
Tears started falling from her eyes.
It made Julianâs heart ache, and he melted. He couldnât even bring himself to stand.
He felt terrible.
Betty choked on her tears; her shoulders shook, and she said indignantly, âDaddy, are you lying to me?â

He couldnât stand seeing his beloved daughter cry, especially because of him. It made him feel worse than getting killed.
Although he couldnât accept that he was the culprit who upset his daughter, and the fact that she would be happy only when he stopped bothering her, Julian had no choice but to obediently close the door and disappear from her sight.
His daughter had grown up.
Perhaps during certain periods, she wanted her own private space.
Thankfully, he had two more babies to look forward to.
When the time came, not only would he have two daughters who only had eyes for him, but he would also be able to go through the complete experience of being a father, starting from their births.
The thought of that made him feel less frustrated. Joyful expectation filled his heart.
âHave a good rest, then.â
Judging from the expression on Bettyâs face, Julian could sense that nothing had happened to her. She probably just didnât want him entering her room.
All the more she didnât want to help him. She was engrossed with doing her own things.
He had no idea what she was doing.
Julian was curious, but he didnât want to invade her privacy. Thus, he didnât insist on finding out. He thought he should give her some space.
Whatâs moreâ¦
When he shut the door and placed his ear against it, he couldnât hear any crying sounds. In fact, he heard Betty chuckling.
It seemed as thoughâ¦she was watching cartoons while eating chips?
Chips were junk food. Diana refused to let Betty have them.
A few days ago, Betty earned a little red flower for the third consecutive day at her kindergarten. When she brought it back, Diana asked her what reward she wanted.
