Chapter 482
Julian’s Stand-In Wife
This was an acknowledgment that Diana quickly finding out about what happened with Oliver was indeed connected to Vans.
Julian was speechless, and didnât know what to say to Vans.
Still, even without the Vansâs involvement, Julian was sure Diana would have figured it out eventually.
There was no point in pursuing this matter.
That didnât mean Julian would let Vans off the hook so easily. He thought for a moment before saying, âPromise me something, and I wonât pursue this matter any further.â
Vansâs cigarette was about to burn out.
He looked down at Julian. There was a bad feeling in his heart, but he had no choice. He knew that even if he didnât agree, Julian had plenty of ways to convince him.
âBro/ Vans said as he put out his cigarette, looking nothing like the quiet doctor he usually was. Before Julian, he was like a younger sibling.
Julian smiled and said, âMove into this apartment.â
âMoveâ¦here?â Vans repeated.
âYes,â Julian replied. âIâll take care of everything. You just need to move in. Right next to Dianaâs apartment.â
Vans wasnât happy when he heard this. âAre you trying to interfere with her life again?â
âNo,â Julian replied. He had thought things through. âWhile youâre living here, I wonât get involved no matter what happens.â
It wasnât considered to be interfering with her lifeâ¦right?
âYouâre really heartless, arenât you?â Julian suddenly asked in a raised voice. âYour girlfriendâs living here alone with her friend. As her boyfriend, arenât you worried at all?â
Then, he snorted at Vans and said, âScum.â
Vans was speechless. He never imagined he would see Julian acting so spoiled in his life.
However, Julian wasnât acting spoiled. He was simply masking his true feelings.
Vans could hear the concern in Julianâs voice for Diana, and understood the manâs worries. Even so, he didnât call Julian out on it.
âIâm not scum, okay? Someone offering to pay for me to live next to my girlfriend? Sign me up!â
Julian let out a breath of relief. âGood. You have ten minutes to move.â
âThereâs no need to rush so much, is there?â
âAs for explaining to Nina and the others without revealing anything, Iâll leave that to you.â Julian laughed coldly. âYouâre good at being a double agent, arenât you? I trust you can handle it this time too.â
ââ¦Do I need to report Dianaâs movements to you?â
âNo need.â
If she were found out, she would definitely be furious.
As long as Vans was here, Julian could ensure the two womenâs safety; that was enough for him.
If anything happened, Nina and Diana could rely on each other.
So far, that was what Julian thought. As long as Diana was fine and living happily, he wouldnât do anything that would interfere in her life.
Alas, he underestimated his feelings.
Ever since he discovered that Diana lived right above Kayla, he was desperately holding himself back from just going up there.
âI ran into Vans when I came back today,â Kayla said, smiling as she let Julian in. âI donât know whatâs going on in this apartment complex, but he, Diana, and Nina live here now.â
âItâs just a coincidence,â Julian said nonchalantly.
âDonât you want to head up to see Diana?â Kayla asked, glancing at him.
âThereâs no point,â Julian replied, seemingly too lazy to talk. Afterwards, he went to stand alone on the balcony.
From there, he could sometimes hear faint conversations between Diana and Nina. Sometimes, if he was lucky, he could even hear Diana laugh.
Whenever that happened, his mood would also improve. Vans had suggested Julian head to his unit instead where it was closer to Diana, but Julian staunchly refused.
