Ishika:

I was standing in front of the matchbox. It was a subsidiary of Abhimanyu's company . It is an interior designing company. I walked in the company. Swanadi was already inside and I saw her waving to me. I waved back and walked to her. "Finally you are here i thought you'll be late" i sat down beside her and took a deep breath. "I left early but was stuck up in traffic"

I looked around and there were too many people here. The possibility of getting a job here was none. "Miss swanadi" the receptionist called her out. "All the best" I smiled at her while she walked in the conference room where the interview was held. I sat there waiting for my turn. My phone made a ding sound indicating I got a message. I checked my phone and it was Abhi's message.

Abhimanyu: All the best wifey keep calm you can do it.

A wide smile spread across my lips. Soon my name was announced and I went in for the interview. My feets froze seeing armaan there. So this company was mostly handled by armaan. He looked at me normally like a professional. I sat down in front of him. There were a few more people who were conducting the interview. I saw a hint of pride on armaan lips seeing my work. He must be proud as a big brother.

They asked me a few questions which I guess I answered correctly. "Okay Miss ishika we'll get back to you after discussing" Armaan said as you nodded and got up walking out of the conference room. I walked to nandu "how was it?" she asked "they'll let me know"

"Anyways let go" she spoke and we both left the company. "Ishi my brother is here to pick me up should i drop you" i shook my head "no i'll take a cab back home" she nodded and left with her brother. I called Raghav to come and pick me up. Soon a car pulled up in front of me and my eyes widened seeing the person in the car. The window rolled down "hey wifey" I smiled and quickly got in. "Abhi you here?"

"I thought I should meet my wife after her interview. How was it?" I glared at him "you didn't tell me armaan would be there" he pinched my cheeks "armaan is ceo of matchbox it was his idea anyways does it matter i am sure he took your interview very seriously" i nodded rubbing my cheeks. "Yes even i was scared of him"

"He is scary sometimes.. Anyways, wanna go somewhere?" Abhimanyu asked starting the car. "I am hungry.. I didn't eat anything before coming here" Abhimanyu starts driving "alright Mrs singh what do you wanna eat?" i looked at him "chole kulche i haven't had it for so long" abhimanyu nodded "okay wifey i'll take you to a special place"

With that he started driving to the place and I looked out of the window. Soon he hit the brake and we both got out. The place was kinda scheduled; there weren't many people there. "Wifey we got to walk a little" he held my hand and started leading me to the restaurant.

We both walked into the restaurant and the owner smiled widely seeing him. "Aree abhi bht dino bad aye aap" (you came after a long time) abhimanyu smiled to her "Aunty two plates chole kulche please" the owner noded and led us both to the seat.

Soon the owner came with two plates of chole kulche and she smiled at me. "Aunty meet Ishika, my wife" Abhimanyu introduced her to me. "Isn't she beautiful?" the owner smiles and pats my head "indeed you are lucky my boy... to find this beautiful girl.. otherwise who would have married grumpy man like you"

"Oh come on aunty at least don't embarrass me in front of her" the owner laughed. Her laugh was so contagious I could help but smile with her. "Anyways i am happy for you abhimanyu and god bless you my child"

"Thank you aunty" I smiled at her and she left to do her work. "When I was in college I used to come here regularly.. I used to study here and eat here so I am close to her," Abhimanyu explained, seeing a confused look on my face.

"Okay now eat you must be starving" I nodded and took a bite and oh god. "Abhii yei kitta taste hai.. by god maine isko khane ke liye roj aungi yaha" (wow abhi this is so tasty i would come here every day to eat this) he smiled and wipes the corner of my lip with tissue.

"Such a messy eater you are" abhi spoke. "So what when there's tasty food we should savor it" i continued eating. After we were done eating, Abhi paid her. "ah ah no no no you brought your wife for time so it's on me so keep that card back in your wallet" abhi smiled and kept it back. "and keep coming frequently whenever you feel no go go"

Abhimanyu held my hand. I waved bye to the owner and we both walked back to our car. "Abhi, you seem different.. i mean i keep seeing different sides of you, you are different when you are at work, you are different when you are with your maa and papa, you are different with aunty and you are different when with me..why are you so different?"

Abhimanyu stopped walking and looked at me "it's like that ishi when you hear about a person like a rumor or something we look at the person in the same way without knowing .. but as we spend time with the person we get to know more about us. This is just human tendency you point of view about ne would be different when we first married but now we are spending time with each other you are getting to know me like i am getting to know you"

He held my hand a little tight and pulled me closer. "Let's eat ice cream" he said and took me to an ice cream parlor. He ordered two chocolate ice creams and we both settled down. It looked like he had few things to say. He held my hand.

"Ishi.. i .. am bad at expressing my emotions like my IQ must be excellent but my EQ is low.. When I first got to know about marriage I was panicking.. I mean I was not ready .. Before meeting you all I thought was any girl who will marry me will be for my money.. I was afraid of how you would treat my family. I basically thought this was a marriage of convenience. But when I saw you I didn't know but I knew you would not be like the girl i thought you would be.. your eyes were very clear your eyes said it all to me. I knew it the moment I saw you. I had to protect you from the world.. but i really had a hard time expressing myself and i really thought you were scared of me. But you slowly started opening up to me i got to know you better i enjoyed your company i liked your company and i don't know how.. but i fell in love with you"

I widened my eyes hearing him. I felt my heart beating faster and faster. I felt butterflies in my stomach. This sudden confession was unexpected for me. I never expected him to confess his feelings like this. My cheeks were burning. I didn't know what to say. I mean I liked him and maybe love him too but this sudden confession i didn't know what to say.

"Hey it's fine we have lived together our whole life together, why are you hurrying to give me an answer.. you are here i am here right?" He gently caressed the knuckle of my hand. I calmed down and gave a small squeeze to his hand. "Let's go home now" I said and we both got up walking back to the car.

Soon we reached home. I sat down beside maa but my mind was all about Abhi's confession. "Bhabhi where are you lost?" Ananya spoke, bringing me back from my thoughts. I just shook my head "nothing what were you talking about?" I asked her and then just like that we started talking about random stuff.

Abhimanyu walked in the living room attending some call. His mood seems a little off. Was it because I didn't give him an answer? I looked at him worried. "Ishi , maa i will have to go london.. for a week" Maa seems like she was used to this but me it was weird i don't want to stop him from working if he needs to be there i am all in but now that i was used to his presence it would be empty without him.

Right now I was in my room packing Abhimanyu's bag. He was leaving tomorrow. I was mindlessly packing when I felt his arms around my waist. "Are you sad?" I turned to face him. "Um no -" "you are not sad i am leaving?" Abhimanyu spoke with a sad expression but I knew he was just teasing me.

"No i mean obviously im sad" "so you are sad" he spoke and pulled me in his embrace. "One week will pass just like that.." I just buried my face in his chest. "I know" abhimanyu was Caressing my hair. "I will be back soon. In a week"

I packed his back and we both went to bed as he had to leave early in the morning.

Next day Abhi was already ready to leave. I was standing with him out near the car. Abhimanyu cups my cheek and gives me a kiss on forehead then he kisses my eyes , he leaves a kiss on my nose. I just giggled. "I'll be back soon okay"

I just nodded and he got in the car and I turned to go in. But before I could go he held my hand and turned me to him. He gave a quick peck on my lips connecting his forehead against mine. "be careful okay take care of yourself"

He spoke again and went to get in the car. I waved to him. He smiles and the car leaves the mansion.
