Chapter 18
She Approved the Split He Fell Apart
018 Code Red Scarlettâs POV âFor a drink,â Iâshrug, leaving. I didnât want to talk to him, but getting words out of my body finally got me to get back in control of my shaken body.
Suddenly Sebastian grips my chin and raises my head in his direction, tilting his head at me with a frown:â You cut yourself.â
âLet go,â I push his hand with a frown, but he wonât let go.
I would be so happy before, if his attention could land on me like this. But not anymore. I donât like him touching me at will as if I am still his belongings. I was. Not anymore.
My hand might have shakened when I pressed the bottle under my jaw. I didnât know it would be so sharp. But he fixes my head in that position more like to force me to look at him, rather than checking my wound.
âDid you mention my wound to help, or you just want to watch me bleed to death?â
Glaring at him, I claw his wrist. He clicks his tongue as he lets go.
Taking a deep breath to calm myself, I restrain myself from rolling my eyes. But again, Sebastian raises an arm to block me when I turn to leave.
Maybe I missed the sun coming out from the west this morning.
I stop and turn to look at him for the first time this night, ready to give the fight he begs for, only to notice a small cut on his bottom lip.
âWhatâs your problem?!â I demand.
âWhatâs Code red?â He ignores my temper.
My jaw drops to the floor.
I open my eyes wide, stattering Iâm so shocked: âIâI sent that to you?!â
Sebastian narrows his eyes at me, obviously too displeased to even answer. I frown, pulling out my phone to check. I didnât send it to him. But I failed to send it to Aurora, too.
my I sent it to Adrian Dunn. Just great. I totally forgot that my last sent message today was to him.
Adrian Dunn is Sebastianâs nemesis. Not literally, just in business. Thatâs why I contacted him for script. Sebastian holds half of the entertainment business in his hand. If Sebastian wants to block me from making a name for myself as a ârevengeâ for Ava, I wonât stand a chance without someone at his level.
âHow did you even know about that?!â I canât fathom the image of Adrian sharing his message with his sworn enemy.
âI know about the one before your call for help, too,â Sebastian grunts sullenly.
I finally understand Sebastianâs anger toward me today Iâm a nobody in the entertainment business, unlike Sebastian and Adrain, two big shots in the city, each +25 BONUS 018 Code Red have a hand on the scepter of the movie industry. I donât have Jack Fullerâs resources to get Richard Hanson, nor do I have a rich pursuer to buy me resources like how Sebastian got Ava all her awards.
I have only my first script AND the title of ExâMrs Knight.
Adrian takes all the chances he gets to give Sebastian a hard time in business. So even for a nobody like me, coming to him with a piece of big news like âdivorcing the King of social mediaâ would definitely get Adrainâs attention.
âIn my defense, the news about our divorce would be long out before he could release that with the movie.â
I didnât think it would be a problem for Sebastian. I mean, our divorce is going to hit the front page no matter what. After all, everyone in the city knows who has the Kingâs heart. According to my calculation, even his wedding with Ava would beat my movie to it.
âDid you get the divorce papers yet?â Sebastian cocks an eyebrow.
âActually, not yet,â I frown, âwhere did you-â
âThatâs right,â Sebastian cuts me off coldly, âbecause I havenât sent it yet.â
What...? What?!
âMeaning, you are still my wife until I do,â Sebastian continues, getting grumpier, âso the next time you want to contact my enemy to sell my scandal, think about the consequences before you do.â
Whatever. HE needs the divorce papers to marry Ava. Iâm not the one whoâs in desperate need of those papers.
âJust send it to Aurora when you are done with it,â I say as I see Gabrielâs stupid eyes open wide like a squeezed fish, âI wonât leak the news until you do, but I canât speak for a stupider mind.â
Sebastian looks at Gabriel, and sees the problem too. The next second, Gabriel excums with utter excitement. âYou are finally divorcing her?!â
