The chosen one
King Mafia and Mago
Sighing for the umpteenth time, Mickey kicked his shoes off at the entrance and entered the apartment with bags filled with takeaway food and alcoholic drinks. He sauntered to the small kitchen, throwing a brief glance in Jana's way, and sighed again when he found the older in the same position he had left him a few hours ago.
Face stuffed in the pillow, as he lay on his stomach, and fists bunched around the soft cushion to the point his knuckles turned white, Jana was crying silently.
The older man's position wasn't concerning anymore since he was a lot calmer than before. Mickey assumed Jana was still mulling about his situation earlier with his father and was crying for the same reason, but the amount of time the older man had invested in such a pointless encounter with a vile man like Mr Chris had Mickey irritated, and he was done.
There was no doubt that Jana was badly hurt, that too, again and by the same man he had some hope left in his heart, he was nearly falling in denial about how his father treated him after not seeing him for so long, until Mr Chris pulled him out of his delusional state and shoved his reality in Jana's face, ruining all his assumption of a family.
But that should be enough dwelling on the topic, according to Mickey
So, after much contemplation, Mickey carried the food towards the mattress, where Jana was crying softly, his large body shaking occasionally, and he nudged the older person with his foot.
"You haven't stopped crying yet?.... I thought I fucking told you to pull yourself together before I left" Mickey started with a purposefully agitated voice so that he could display his dismay at the situation. The idea worked because Jana stirred and curled his legs upward to shift his weight, the man then rubbed at his eyes quickly and Mickey felt a tad bit bad after seeing the reddening face of the older.
"I-I did....Just..." Jana answered, sniffing softly as he hiccupped occasionally.
"you clearly haven't" Mickey retorted firmly and Jana looked down.
"Come on Jana, stop crying now. He is not worth your tears.....and all that stress you are taking. Mr Chris has shown what you are to him today, leave it alone now" the younger coaxed, softening his voice and Jana's eyes watered again, he sniffled and lowered his gaze to his lap so he wouldn't start crying again.
"I just don't get it Mickey.....I-I did everything for him, dirtied my hands for him,.....I left school, my friends, when he wanted me, fought with people older and buffer than me, ..... I even got as far as hurting Mago with his commands. You name it Mickey and I did it for him.....but what did he say at the end, that I am a failure, a disgrace" Jana rambled and choked on his tears while he cried, he looked so small and childlike, rubbing his eyes and nose, that Mickey felt pity for the older. Placing the food on the side, the younger engulfed Jana in a torso-level hug to provide comfort, he circled his shoulders while Jana pressed his face in Mickey's stomach and started sobbing again.
It was hurtful to watch.
By the time Jana catered his emotions, Mickey's mind raced with different thoughts. The boy didn't have any parents to begin with, just like his soulmate, but if he had a pair and they treated Mickey like Mr Chris treated Jana, Mickey would have beaten them asses to another planet for them to never return. Unlike certain someone in his arms who was crying at a loss of a bitch that didn't even ask his child if he was okay or not.
"what did I do wrong?" Jana mumbled against Mickey's sweater-covered stomach, breaking the younger out of his thoughts.
"I did everything he asked me to....but never received an appreciating pat over my back. Do you know how disgusting I feel when memories of what I had done to Mago flash across my eyes?" Jana said dreadfully as he looked up at Mickey, the younger looked down and their eyes met for a few seconds. In those moments Mickey felt for Jana, a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach that held him hostage and he stared at the older with something more than care and sympathy.
Maybe adoration for a man-child like Christopher Jana
"It was all dad, always dad that my baby brother 'a red button nose and plump chickie lips' that I used to call him when we were little, became an untamed bitch that I, as a brute had to tame and mark as mine" Jana spat with disgust remembering the manipulative words Mr Chris used to use to convey his demand.
While listening attentively, Mickey smiled when he reminisced his collection of memories, where the baby soulmate was getting the royal treatment of his life and had the biggest, unrivalled Crime lord wrapped around his pinkie finger.
Life is fair...at least for Mago.
"I was so wrong Mickey. Just like he said, a failure" Jana said rubbing his nose up and down Mickey's stomach and the younger sighed caressing Jana's shoulders.
"don't think like that Jana. You are not to be blamed for Mr Chris's selfish bastard character.... He is a greedy bitch. A man that never hesitates to use anyone, whether a relationship or an acquaintance, even his own son when he wants to achieve a purpose and that's fucking truth" Mickey argued with a frown set over his face, he stopped his soft ministration over Jana's shoulder and the older felt it right away.
"but... he is my father Mickey"
"You don't think I know that Jana?....but I see other shit too that you supposedly drop because he is 'your father'". Mickey interrupted sharply, emphasizing the sarcasm, that didn't leave a chance for Jana to say anything further. The older quieted down and averted his gaze, he was fast to observe the hatred in Mickey's eyes for Mr Chris. Certain questions in his mind were also raised but he remained silent so as not to trigger a suddenly mad-looking Mickey.
But then, he felt his face being cupped in small palms and raised and he was once again looking at Mickey. A way calmer Mickey.
"I am not trying to insult your dad Jana..... it's just..." Mickey started softly but Jana stopped him by placing a finger over his lips.
It was about time that he asked what he had in his mind.
"Why do you hate him so much? Did he do something to you or Mago that I don't know about yet?" Jana asked cluelessly, his mind irked with something unsaid but very well-known between the people he knew and were a part of his life, especially Mago and Mickey.
Nevertheless, he got nothing other than a sigh from the soulmate he had with him.
"It is not my place to say Jana...but believe me when I say this....." Mickey started with a low tone, he stared at Jana with serious blank eyes and Jana felt his heart clenching at the estranged look in Mickey's eyes.
"Mr Chris has done far more than you can expect. You are lucky to see the real face of your father before suffering a loss you couldn't bear" Mickey stated as he pulled away from Jana.
"and brace yourself Jana because when King comes back with Mago....things turn dirty" Jana watched as the other, without saying anything, picked the food and went to the kitchen to reheat it and left Jana with now more complex thoughts.
...
The boss paced around the room here and there, anxiously glancing at his phone screen where numerous calls from a certain number haunted his senses, as he waited for Kangsu impatiently. The scenes earlier regarding Mago and Garry had boss's mind boggled with several unannounced, weird thoughts circling his mind. The man had almost pictured his demise in the hands of Xavier before he shrugged off the negative thoughts and tried to breathe regularly.
No, he can't be defeated after he has come this far.
Lost in his self-encouraging thought process, the boss snapped just in time as the door of the room opened and Kangsu entered with a huff and an annoyed look on his face, the older met eyes with the boss and stylishly ran his finger through his green hair just to be extra.
Or maybe he wanted to get on boss's nerves.
"Is he okay?" boss asked as soon as the other walked in front of him with a visible, deliberate roll of eyes to showcase how uninterested he was and be in Kangsu's fashion.
"Yeah, he is fine. The last update says he demanded a fudge pastry with coconut milk, gumballs, some spicy chicken wings and whatnot. Most of those are unavailable here...... so I asked to look for an alternative if possible," the older spurted out like a broken record, not caring if boss looked at him like he was the craziest man on earth or not.
And did Kangsu care, no he didn't.
Boss on the other hand didn't know what Kangsu was saying, he looked at the green head with his eyes twitching in disappointment and parted his lips with a series of curses resting over his tongue.
But then he stopped himself.
"What are you........." he exhaled heavily through his nose and closed his eyes for a long moment. Rubbing at his temples, he complained to the powers above as to why he was dealing with such types of people in the entire world.
Little did he know....boss was the chosen one.
"I am asking about Garry Kangsu, not your little majesty," he asked gritting his teeth and Kangsu made an 'o' face before nodding his head in understanding.
"yeah...right. Uhm.....he is fine. Just a couple of wounds and scratches, nothing big" he delivered obediently and boss sighed.
"but what he has left on the boy isn't going to be fine for us," the older pointed out casually, he leisurely made his way to the small bar and picked the oldest-looking wine from the rack only to inspect the label curiously, ignoring boss and his raised brow.
"what does that mean?" the latter questioned, warningly after getting brutally ignored and Kangsu chuckled.
"Don't tell me you didn't see the bite mark on the boy's neck that Garry left. I can't even imagine the wrath of King after he finds out and here you are as relaxed as a bear in hibernation," Kangsu mocked like a two-year-old and boss clenched his jaw tightly, he was being insulted but the older had a point there.
Plus, the time wasn't right.
"Don't add to my worry Kangsu. It is all of you, not only him, that don't fucking listen to me. If you people would have worked like a team, this wouldn't have happened and our plan wouldn't have flopped like it did." Boss retorted tiredly, he was also right in his place but Kangsu didn't agree.
"Whatever boss." He muttered lowly, loud enough for boss to hear, and averted his eyes. The latter opened his mouth in protest but Kangsu beat him to it and started again leaving boss with pursed lips and a glare.
"Let's not waste more time blaming each other and make our first move. Call King and list out our demands in exchange for that lover of his .... We are already late and giving him time means providing him a chance to investigate on his own. It will be a matter of time before he finds us" The greenhead displayed his concern while popping open the bottle before sniffing and then shivering at the wafting sour smell of the wine. The boss listened carefully, he agreed of course and nodded his head.
"you are right. The boy is with us for more than king's liking, knowing how possessive he is.....he must have something going on in that cunning head of his" boss added to the point afterthought, the crime lord, his fine traits and his principles about his family and empire were what scared the boss to his core. He has seen King going to lengths just for the sake of his priorities and that boy was no less than that....instead, Mago was King's queen.
"Exactly...it's our chance before he finds out more than we want" Kangsu said pouring a glass and licking the mouth of the bottle to not waste the dripping drop.
"he already knows more than we want Kangsu." boss stated as a matter of fact and made a disgusting face at Kangsu and his act. The other remained unaffected and proceeded to close the bottle before he picked up the glass and faced the boss.
"So what?" he asked ignorantly and boss shook his head
"You don't fucking get it Kangsu. Don't you see....there is no commotion about the king's lover and his to-be-born child going missing. The king I know is madly in love with the boy, he would do anything to get him back..so why is everything so quiet? Why is he not doing anything or why isn't any other person doing anything?" the boss stated in a trance making Kangsu look at him weirdly, he sighed as he gulped the drink and wiped his mouth with the back of his sleeve.
"It's because king is in love and love makes people stupid." He answered briefly, a little agitated as he sipped from his drink.
And Boss glared at him.
"Think positive boss, we don't need discussions like that now. The biggest step was to get our hands on King's weakness and that we have accomplished under my flawless supervision.... now if he knows more than necessary then even then he has to do what we say to get the boy back....it's simple" Kangsu recited as if what they had planned was the easiest most accomplishable task on earth. Being more confident after he successfully kidnapped Mago, he was no longer afraid to cross any boundary if it meant he could defeat King and be the new crime lord.
But boss had other thoughts.
The man was simply not convinced by the quietness around. According to boss, the world around them should be on its toes until Mago finds his place back in King's arms but in reality, the case was totally opposite. There was no commotion, no searches, no hyper alerts or calls or anything that was sent to retrieve King's lover back.
The sudden realization that boss might have done something really risky, under Chris's and Kangsu's influence, dawned upon him and his face turned nonchalant in a second. The man had no other option than to play along with the plan they decided and see if he could salvage his head in the process.
In all honesty and true to Mago's suspicion, Boss was scared of the crime lord shit less and he would have done anything in his power if he could save himself.
But it's late now....so late.
The last option that remains is a call to the crime lord, a proposal of exchange of demands and uncertain results.
"call him boss" Kangsu said snapping boss out of his thoughts. Nodding his head, he pulled out the cell phone only to see the haunting calls of someone he loved dearly before he dialled King's number and placed the device along his ear.
All of a sudden, a loud bang resounded inside the room and both Boss and Kangsu turned to face the door of the room. The guards inside the room rushed towards the sound, leaving them alone, while Kangsu looked at boss worriedly.
"what the Fuck...he is.....he is not picking up the call" Boss spat angrily, whispering at the end when something clicked in his mind. He looked up at Kangsu and seeing the pale face of his, Boss felt his heart jumping from his heart to his stomach.
Just then the door of the room banged open and three men entered with bated breaths.
"boss..." one of them heaved and boss tipped his chin for him to say what he wanted but when he delayed the suspense, boss gritted his teeth.
"fucking speak!" he roared angrily.
"King is here" one of them delivered and boss felt his soul leaving him through his skull.
