Chapter 113

The piece of my enemy

King Mafia and Mago

The piece of my enemy

The cowardly act of killing Enzo and Snow Parker in their sleep seemed valorous until the time it lasted, once the cries of that small child, that had woken up due to the commotion and loud banging, resounded inside the mansion is when the reality of the awful crime dawned upon Kangsu. The baby, lying between his dead parents, wailed loudly. He thrashed his small limbs and continued crying making Kangsu stare at him clueless.

Speechless and silent.

Mr Chris wasn't with him at the moment, the dear friend had run outside after their successful job to see further management and cover their tracks in case of needful investigations. Had he been there with Kangsu, Mr Chris would have suggested something suitable other than what Kangsu was ready to do but since he wasn't available, Kangsu was on his own.

Bewildered to his core, he didn't know what to do in the situation other than to pick up the child in his arms. He cradled the crying baby against his chest, against his better judgement, and shushed him as he also went to seek an escape without needing to inform the partner in crime.

Hence committing another stupid act.

Unaware of what he had done, killing the loving parents and then stealing their child, Kangsu fled the scene with a different mind.

All that while, Mr Chris remained uninformed about the child theft, he didn't get the knowledge about the little boy being gone until later but until then, sadly, the child had vanished from the face of the earth like magic. Mr Chris was flabbergasted when he returned, he was mad and disappointed since his own secret plan of keeping little Mago for himself to cash some benefits or maybe ask for a 'Saviour reward' was ruined along with any promising future he could dream of.

Because unlike Kangsu, who didn't know why he stole the child, Mr Chris was adamant about taking the baby for himself.

And so, he opted to injure himself for at least compensation.

Meanwhile, Kangsu had regretted ever keeping the baby with him. Wanting to be sort of a Godfather and wishing to cherish a piece of his enemy, he decided to cater the cutest child on earth as his own. But that delulu of his soon flipped over and Kangsu found himself on the verge of tears, he wanted to tear his hair apart whenever the little boy cried for his mother and thrashed against his chest, punching him with the tiniest fists.

Tiny Mago had become the pain in his ass, that small being had Kangsu dancing on his toes when he wailed loudly, refused to stop and slept hiccupping eventually.

And Kangsu was done.

While Kangsu struggled with his bad decisions, the funeral of Enzo and Snow Parker wrapped up with the beginning of the search for the missing child. A deep search was launched on Mr Grey's request that resulted in a spread of news around wildly, reaching mafia associates and their leaders and deriving a search warrant from Mafia as well.

Kangsu wasn't far in learning the word. Many eyes, including the ones loyal to Black Panda, circulated his direction and the suspicion towards him grew each day making it hard for Kangsu to breathe freely. Being aware of the consequences his involvement in the matter would bring, Kangsu acted swiftly and in days he deposited the baby into an orphanage on the outskirts of the city. The man was strict with the procedure, he opted to change the name of the boy from Mago to 'Edward' and threatened the warden to never let the child or his depositor get exposed to the world if he knew what's best for him.

Mr Chris had caught onto the squirminess by that time, he had taken notice of his weird behaviour and his anxiousness carefully and had accused Kangsu of stealing the child, but all his accusations went into vain when Kangsu denied each of them with great expertise.

The loss of Black Panda had shifted responsibilities in Mafia and it had also given Kangsu a chance to rise slowly, a small mishap to his reputation would have fallen him to the ground.

Perhaps, that was the reason he played defensively.

Nevertheless, Kangsu didn't budge an inch regarding the accusations until Mr Chris retried himself from asking further and started to search for the boy on his own after head-butting with Mr Grey and getting nothing in return.

It had taken him more time than he imagined, a mix of three crucial years, till he was able to gather as much as an address to Mago's correct location.

And maybe, maybe....Kangsu had helped him find the child without Mr Chris knowing.

The chaos of Enzo and Snow's death had died down as well and the world seemed to be falling into its place, Mr Chris found Mago under the name 'Edward' when he was nearly four years old, a cute, beautiful and round baby boy that was not very pleased with his adoption as he was handed over to the new parent.

"And that's how Wren finally brought little Edward Mago to his home, away from Mr Grey and away from any seeking eyes" Charlton finished reciting the tale as he placed the documents of Mago's adoption that he had retrieved after much effort on the table. The file included pictures from the very first day of the entry to the following three years respectively and all other necessary formality details, Charlton had worked hard for the sources and he was successful with the results.

The hidden three years of Mago's life were finally uncovered.

The office room was filled with all the important people of the mansion, where Mr Xavier sat with his son in the lavish seating area sharing a drink, Garnie, Alex and Charlton stood by their respective lord's sides silently. Mago was also present at the scene with his own glass of sour slushy but the boy chose to sit at king's desk like the tiny king he was along with his best buddy Lucca standing attentively by his side.

Listening to the story of his early life by someone else.

"Wow, you had a tragic life little prince" Garnie blurted out suddenly, breaking the ice in the room, and earning a glare from Charlton and Lucca. On the other hand, King didn't react at all instead, he only smiled into his drink. Knowing Garnie most of his life, he was aware of how clumsy and casual the older was and how ready he always was to mess with his men, especially under Mr Xavier's presence.

But then king knew Mago as well, and so a sharp reply wasn't far ahead.

"Watch it oldie......you don't fucking know who Mago Parker is" Mago glared at Garnie making him snicker relentlessly. The boy didn't notice when he boasted his true identity and showcased his real status but others did notice it and that too with a proud smile.

Mr Xavier was the proudest.

Sensing the change in Mago's tense demeanour, King swiftly left his place and meandered towards his desk to shush his lover with sweet nothings and while doing so, he gestured Lucca for something after which the latter left the room with a nod.

Caressing Mago's face gently, King tucked his hair back fondly to help his baby boy not to be sadder than he actually was after patiently listening to the story of his parents' murder and then the tossing of his fragile life by cruel people. It was heart-wrenching whatsoever to hear something like that and the older people in the room could see right through the boy's dilemma.

Kangsu and Chris were greedy, selfish bastards for doing that.

Garnie watched the interaction between King and Mago curiously, he couldn't find it in himself to avert his attention elsewhere when Mago pouted and King melted away with a laugh before doing just what the younger desired. The adorable character of Mago irked Garnie's senses, a childish tickle in his ribs squirmed him to the point he wanted to tease the boy and see the extent of his patience.

But for that, he had to deal with a spicy mouth and eventually a displeased crime lord.

No sir, never

But a comment won't hurt, right?

"This boy is feisty Sire" Garnie whispered, leaning down to Mr Xavier, as he poured a drink for his sire making Mr Xavier chuckle humours-ly. Alex rolled his eyes at Garnie's curiosity as he watched Mago giggling at something King had said while the older wiped Mago's cheek with apparent, involuntary tears.

"He is.." Mr Xavier agreed with a hum, he looked away from a sad Mago to his glass of alcohol before raising his eyes to Garnie warningly. "...and don't push him too hard Garnie. The other side of this little boy is not very appealing" the former lord warned with a dark gaze but a smile still lingered on his face.

Garnie nodded his head obediently.

'Ha! What could this small boy do anyway?' he thought in his mind.

Well....Mago can bite noses and ears off in a span of a few minutes for the starters.

The attention of the room soon shifted to the door, Lucca entered the office after a knock and after him entered the three musketeers, each held by a guard in a death grip. Jayce, Kangsu and Chris squirmed and thrashed, muttering profanities as they tried to loosen the grip around them but then they stilled, along with their breaths, as soon as they came face to face with the daunting father-son duo.

Jayce's heart ached when Mr Xavier's icy glare pierced his heart and the older looked away from him, he stood still while watching how he lost each and everything he had worked for all his life, his love, his husband, his home all lost to some toxic greedy desires.

Mr Xavier didn't spare him a look, he simply ignored him like a stranger and kept his gaze wandering to other captivating things around.

Meanwhile, Kangsu and Chris bowed ninety degrees in respect as soon as King came out from behind his desk, one groomed from the earlier lesson and once simply scared for his life. The crime lord smirked satisfied as he took in the result of the dominance that he imposed on both Chris and Kangsu, he walked leisurely toward the seating area again and this time took a seat on one of the armrests of the sofa stylishly.

And then a deafening silence fell in the room with all eyes on the culprits, as if mocking them silently.

Making them feel more vulnerable.

Until...

"Are you going to kill us now?" It was Kangsu who started in a whisper with the much-answer-seeking query when he couldn't keep up with the stare, he looked at King and Mr Xavier respectively before he locked his pleading eyes with Mr Xavier who ignored him expertly.

"Your crimes against my empire suggest just that Kangsu but that won't justify the punishment now will it?" King answered instead of the former lord and Kangsu felt an undeniable need to roll his eyes at King, but he composed his manners not to get executed on the spot.

Hearing what King said, Mr Chris's breath hitched in his throat. He darted his gaze towards Mago only to find the boy already looking at him with a loathed glare. Both of them held the stare with equal hatred to the point where Mago was almost snarling in anger, the boy had a frown set on his face and dewy eyes dripped murderous intentions towards Mr Chris.

That's how much enraged the young queen was.

"What are you planning to do to us?" Kangsu asked alarmed, a voice next to commanding as he squared his shoulder to receive what might snatch the ground from underneath his feet. King only smirked in return, the smugness on his handsome features added fuel to Kangsu's worries and he writhed in the hold of the guard.

"My friend Alan is having an inauguration of a site on the outskirts of his land where lots of servants are required for the Dog work and such a minimal return. I have to pay my part of good wishes as well, therefore, I have decided to gift Wren Christopher to Alan as a token of my congratulations for his success." King stated casually while checking his nails, like signing a promotion letter of an employee, as he recited the well-organized and planned punishment for Mr Chris.

The said man was stunned into silence for a few minutes before he turned to face Mago with a hateful glare.

'It has to be him' Mr Chris thought.

Mago though, only smiled like a brat, teeth on full display as he raised his both brows challengingly.

"You can't—..." Mr Chris started with a cry but got cut off when King interrupted him and continued with what he had originally planned.

"As for you Kangsu,..." king's voice boomed over Mr Chris "Father has decided to take you back with him, under his personal supervision and in the very position you deserve. You will never be a part of my empire or any other forever and you will never be allowed to live to stray for you to get a chance to conspire against us" Kangsu gawked at King while the crime lord finished the sentence, he stared in shock, unable to believe how tragically his life was changing.

And that's what he deserved

Being with Mr Xavier was the best thing anyone like Garnie or Alex could imagine but at the same time, the former lord was a dread in himself, a true nightmare, and that was the reality only Kangsu had suffered in his past for once. The horrifying period still haunted him in his dreams when the time of his downfall ensued after Enzo's deep interference in his shenanigans, those nights on the streets, fights with rivals and the pain of injured ego held him captive from further wrongdoing and eventually slipping out from Mr Xavier's direct supervision.

But now the tables had turned, all those bad deeds were returning to pay back and take what they had left all those years ago.

"M-mercy Sire....mercy.." Kangsu cried falling to his knees dramatically, he joined his hands together in a pray-like manner and pleaded only to get a look of grimace from the former lord. Mr Xavier didn't look appeased and he delivered what he felt through his nonchalant expressions, not giving a fuck to Kangsu and his useless pleas.

"You have tried to kill my son, my pride and the king of the empire you served Kangsu. Not killing you is the most mercy I can grant" he spat calmly, tapping his long fingers on the surface of the sofa softly, and watched Kangsu staring at him in pure disbelief as he slowly stood up from the ground.

Never in a million, he thought he would be punished that way.

"Please sire..... I will never do such a thing ever again. Give me a chance" he begged helplessly only to stop mid-act when Mr Xavier raised his hand in finality and glared at Kangsu with his signature dark look. Jayce understood the gaze instantly, heart thumping in his stomach, he stared at his once-loving husband's cold stare and wished for some leniency when his turn was just around the corner.

"There is no chance for a betrayer like you..." Mr Xavier stated, eyes fixed on Jayce as he directed his words to both Jayce and Kangsu. Afterwards, the former lord completely set his undivided attention on his husband and pulled all his focus on the squirmy, nervous form of Jayce making the latter avert his eyes to the floor.

"Now, as far as you are concerned my love...." Mr Xavier started, digging holes in Jayce's existence while the other closed his eyes for the worst to come as he waited patiently.

It was his turn now.
